The Nokia 5.3 is called the future-proof phone that costs almost half of the entry-level premium smartphone. HMD Global's Nokia 5.3 costs just under $199, and it will surprise you with its software, features, and design as a daily phone. The Nokia 5.3 was already gone on sale back in April this year but is yet to get an official launch in India. And now HMG Global has sent out the invites for an online event on August 25. The invite says it will be giving a brief session virtually ahead of the launch. The virtual session will be done on Microsoft Teams and will begin at 10 AM IST. It is believed the Nokia 5.3 will be announced on the same day.

The company has also reported that the 2020 models of the Nokia 125 and Nokia 150 may be announced on the same day since these device has already received certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards since June. The rear panel of the phone is made of plastic and frame a 6.55-inch display screen with 1,600 x 720 pixels. Due to its cover, it is quite manageable but may not fit in the small hands. If you are watching YouTube videos on the mobile phone, you might want to increase the brightness up to full most of the time as the auto-brightness may not work for you.

The phone house a selfie camera at the top of the display with a small bezel on the bottom. The primary camera is of 13-megapixel with a 4/1.8 aperture and is joined by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera is of 8-megapixel. Recent rumors about the next upcoming smartphones suggest another low-budget smartphone by the HMD Global called Nokia 2.4. The device was spotted at Geekbench in the last month. A fresh report by Nokia Power User has revealed some important spec information on the device. As per leaks the highest variant of the Nokia 2.4 will have 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will also come in 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variants. The device will be available in three color options such as grey, blue, and purple.

The Nokia 2.4 is reported to have a big 4,500mAh battery that is enough to keep it alive all day long with a single charge with support to fast charging. The phone features a 6.5-inch screen with 271 PPI and IPS LCD. The phone is powered by the octa-core 2GH MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The device supports dual SIM options. The expected launch date in India is around October this year but this isn't confirmed yet. Nokia 2.4 might be available fewer Rs. 10,000 in the Indian market. Coming to the FCC listing, the report states that the Nokia 2.4 has four variants - TA-1277, TA-1270, TA-1274, and TA-1275, out of which the TA-1270 is a dual-SIM variant. The rest of the specifications remain the same across all the variants.

According to the leaks, the Nokia 2.4 will feature a 13-MP primary camera with a 2-MP dual camera like the predecessor Nokia 2.3 phone. It houses a front-camera of 5-MP for selfies. The phone will come with an Android 10 operating system out of the box. Although we are not sure about its launch date yet, it could be one of the phones that HMD Global may launch at the IFA 2020 tech trade show in the next month.

Nokia C3 is one of the most budget-friendly smartphones you can find today and it just got released in China. It comes with a relatively large display and old-fashioned design with thick bezels on the top and bottom. The phone is powered by an octa-core processor that has a single camera on the rear side. The Nokia C3 is up to sale at CNY 699 or roughly $100 for the sole 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It comes with Nordic blue and gold sand color options. It is currently available for pre-orders in the country and will be sold in markets starting August 13.

The sensors on the Nokia C3 include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, acceleration sensor, and a fingerprint scanner on the back. There is also an Xpress button that can be mapped with a feature or an app for quick access. The phone measures 159.9x77x8.69mm and weigh 184.5 grams.

You can expect a good smartphone around $400 that will do most of the stuff people would want from a mobile, but what about a phone that costs almost half of that? The rear side of the device is plastic-made but comfortable to hold. The display is 6.55-inch large and weighs only 185 grams. It is manageable with one hand. There are two buttons on the phone - the power button and the volume button. On the opposite side, you can find the button for Google assistant which is pretty easy to mess up when picking up the phone or holding in one hand. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a single speaker at the bottom.

On the back of the side, there is a quad-camera system that is housed slightly above the fingerprint sensor. The design is okay and doesn't look too cheap or ugly that screams ‘cheap' when holding in your hands. The phone is available in cyan, sand, and charcoal color. Even the phone is only priced at $199, but it comes with four lens camera sensor.

I'd rather take a single camera phone than a four-camera phone that takes mediocre phones and painfully slow.

Recently Nokia released a press release that highlight the news regarding its high-speed 5G internet connectivity. According to Nokia, it has achieved the world's fastest 5G speeds in its over-the-air network in Dallas, Texas, utilizing 800 MHz of commercial millimeter-wave 5G spectrum and Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) functionality, Nokia achieved 5G speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps in tests performed on base station equipment being deployed in major U.S. carriers' commercial networks.

Earlier this record was set by Ericsson just a few months ago. Using dual connectivity enables operators to transmit data simultaneously across 5G and 4G networks, achieving higher transmission rates than using either technology independently. This solution will not only provide subscribers with unrivaled mobile broadband speeds but also enable carriers to sell various latency-sensitive enterprise services, such as network slicing for mission-critical applications.

Nokia has also rolled out an OS update to Nokia 5.1 plus to 32 countries that include India as well. With the Android 10 update, the Nokia 5.1 has the latest OS.
