If you are a proud owner of Redmi Note 9 in India, you could be among the few Redmi users who will be getting Android 11 updates in India. The new update is limited to selected users initially, though it will reach all Redmi Note 9 series phones in the near future. Xiaomi released the phone early this year in March, alongside the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The smartphone originally came with the older version of Android this year out of the box. However, it has already received an update to MIUI 12 in September. This update brought up lots of changes to the user interface, including a refreshed interface.

According to the users getting the update, the latest Redmi Note 9 pro update is around 2.3GB in size and is based on a firmware version MIUI V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM. The official changelog doesn't offer any information on the changes this update might bring. However, it does show that the new software update can be downloaded through a stable channel.

How to get the latest Android update

If you haven't received the OTA update, you can initiate the process manually. First you need to check if you are among the users who are getting the update. You can check the status of the Android 11 update on your Redmi Note 9 pro by going to Settings > About phone. The new update installs the latest Android 11 operating system to your phone that Google launched earlier this year. However, this update doesn't come with any security patch released by Google.

The Redmi Note 9 series isn't a modern-day light weight phone. It has a large battery and display of 6.67-inch with full HD+ screen. The phone comes with a standard 60Hz panel and doesn't have a 90hz refresh rate like some recently launched phones, including the Realme 6. The company suggests that there isn't any app at the moment that is taking advantage of such a high refresh rate and it only consumes the battery life. The phone has Snapdragon 720G SoC that isn't powerful enough. Xiamoi sells the Redmi Note 9 pro in India at a starting price of Rs. 13,999. The phone is selling for three different configurations in india - GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage, and 4GBRAM/128GB storage.

galaxy m12

Samsung Galaxy M12 is due to an exceptional release next year, but the phone is already making waves in the tech industry due to its exceptional features that include a 7,000mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy M12 is going to have the same battery as the M51. The phone belongs to the budget-category phone series and even fell into the entry-level in the category as well.

Recently, we have seen a leaked video uploaded by onLeaks, that is supposed to showcase the 360 views of the Galaxy M12. They had uploaded the graphical renders earlier and now they have come up with a short video that shows M12 from different angles. Due to the angles, the video was shot from, you can easily see a two-texture rear side that reflects light.

The Galaxy M12 will be 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm, a fraction narrower and thinner than the M51's 163.9 x 76.3 x 9.5 mm. Like it, it will have a plastic frame, which will help keep the weight down (but we're probably still looking at 200+ grams phones). As per rumors, the device will have a 6.5-inch diagonal display screen. The tech giant is working on two different models - one would be the global version and the one will target more of the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy M12, as per leaks, has the waterdrop style notch to feature the front camera. On the rear side, the phone has a square model that comprises four sensors and a flash. The phone contains a side-mounted fingerprint sensor whereas Samsung Galaxy A42 5G has an in-display fingerprint sensor. There would be a speaker grille and a 3.5mm audio jack that sits alongside the charging port. According to reports, we can expect the phone to be released somewhere in the first quarter of 2021.

Smartphone photography has somewhat influenced amateur photography for a few years now, at least, Apple and Samsung have won the appreciation of photographers and youngsters in general with software enhancements and DSLR-like photos. Recently, we have seen smartphone manufacturers are emphasizing greatly photography sections and bringing larger and sensitive camera sensors. Having a 108MP camera sensor isn't shocking news anymore.

When smartphone companies are competing with each other, Xiaomi decided to join the trend. The company announced its latest development through a Tweet. The company's official Twitter feed shows a short clip of a new 120mmm retractable camera lens that is built specifically for smartphones, taking the ultrawide lens that users are now getting used to, and giving it a major power-up. The tweet says, "Inspired by traditional camera designs, we now introduce you to the 120mm-equivalent retractable-wide aperture lens! Optimized with a bigger aperture and upgraded stabilizer, you can now capture better portraits and low light images.

If you have ever used a traditional camera, you must be familiar with the concept of retractable design. These lenses when pressed and rotate, get the extended length. In some cameras, it automatically starts the camera as well. The retractable camera lens has been absent from smartphones due to several reasons, including fragility and issues like waterproof. Those hurdles remain, which it is likely which Xiaomi is only showing off this bet of technology. Still, we can expect and hope for bigger steps in the future in terms of mobile photography.

OnePlus 8 was released in April, and now in October, we are getting news about the next OnePlus smartphone. A report suggested that the company might go for an early launch. We don't have much information on the release date yet but hope to get it by mid-march next year. The OnePlus 9 is reportedly known as lemonade. We haven't seen any design renders yet, so the design remains a mystery. The company could continue using the OnePlus 8's design. The latest tip was tweeted by TechDrioder. He says that OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have the following model numbers: OnePlus 9- LE2110, OnePlus 9 Pro- LE2117, LE2119, LE2120, Mysterious Device- LE2127.

OnePlus features a 6.55-inch display on both devices this year, so we can expect to have a similar trend in the future. There are also a few reports about a smaller OnePlus 9 model to compete with the iPhone 12 mini, but there isn't any evidence to prove that claim. The OnePlus 8T features a 120Hz refresh rate, which we also expect to feature on the OnePlus 9 series. As for the hardware specs, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 to power the smartphone line mated to at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

As the trend of getting heavier batteries is increasing, we might see a larger battery on OnePlus 9 as well. OnePlus 8 was priced at $699 that made it among the cheapest flagship smartphones in 2002; a year when we saw premium smartphones getting higher than $1,000. OnePlus dropped some dollars from the price tag by skipping features like IP rating and wireless charging capabilities. In a way, that makes sense to have these two features reserved only for pro models. A flagship phone that costs more than $700 needs an IP rating and wireless charging.
