OnePlus 6

Only a few weeks ago, back in November 2019, OnePlus rolled out its first operating system update for its flagship smartphones OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The update included an upgrade of OS with several software-related features that improved the performance and gesture navigation system of the device. The device now supports full-screen gestures and other gestures including inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back and a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recently used apps.

OnePlus has a reputation for early OS update schedule as compared to other major smartphone manufacturers. However, the early doesn't mean the smooth transition. The last update rolled out for the OnePlus 7 and 7T were riddled with security issues and bugs, which were fixed later on with the help of security patches and minor fixes.

After this year's flagship, it was turn for the last year's flagship devices - OnePlus 6 and 6T from the year 2018. The first update was quick, but it also appeared to have some issues and bugs. The customers gave their feedback and OnePlus listened to it. The second update which was early in the December addressed some of these complaints on an urgency basis. The third update is an attempt to cover what was left unresolved in the second update.

Despite the bugs and fixes, the company's early and appropriate response shows how serious the company considers its consumers. In an industry, where not manufacturers take updates seriously, OnePlus is doing it. Even it is not ready to give on the one-year-old devices. Meanwhile, very old devices like OnePlus 3 and 3T got their last security update. Last year, the company stated, "As per the OnePlus software maintenance schedule, OnePlus 3 and 3T will be getting regular OTA updates till November of 2018 and 1 year of extended Android security patches. "

Here is the changelog for OnePlus 6 and 6T Updates:

oneplus 8 pro

OnePlus is working on the next device in the OnePlus 8 series after OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. As per reports, the OnePlus 8 Pro is already in the development stage, which means that the design may or may not be finalized yet. Recently, there were some new leaked images of the alleged OnePlus 8 Pro, reaffirming the design. The OnePlus 8 Pro will have a noticeable difference in the design as compared to its predecessor. The management at OnePlus has already said that they will be working on exciting camera features and the leaked images justify the claim.

The leaked diagram shows that the device will come with four camera lens on the rear side. This will be the first phone by the company to have four cameras on the backside. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes with three cameras on the rear side with the primary being a 48MP image sensor and a single image sensor on the front. The extra camera on the OnePlus 8 Pro is likely a ToF sensor.

Another leak suggests that the upcoming flagship device will be available in two variants. One version appears with a single punch-hole camera with the second device that will be launched with a punch-hole display. There is no clarity for now but it should likely be the OnePlus 8 with single punch-hole while the model with two punch-hole cameras. The fingerprint sensor could be an in-screen display as the diagram doesn't show any rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The display will be similar to its predecessor with curved design and 90Hz fresh rate. We will be seeing the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro around the first quarter of the next year. This is only the expected and rumored date which isn't confirmed by the official sources yet. Stay tuned for more information on the OnePlus 8 series.

oneplus 7T pro

Earlier this year, the OnePlus 7 was released alongside the OnePlus 7 Pro. For the second half of the year, the US got the OnePlus 7T, while the rest of the world had OnePlus 7T Pro. The 7T Pro is similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro from the design perspective. Although, the 7T pro is a big phone, just as Galaxy Note 10 plus and the iPhone 11 pro Max. The device doesn\'t have any official IP rating. It has a 6.7-inch large display with a high refresh rate around 90Hz that has a slightly negative impact on battery life, but it\'s a treat to watch movies or play video games at such high rate. The device has a curved display and you may feel some glare effect.

For security, the device features an optical fingerprint scanner which is fast and reliable. There was some hype around optical fingerprint scanner but since the latest incident with an optical fingerprint sensor, people prefer to use the optical one. There is also a face unlock but it is not reliable, to begin with and you have to wait for the selfie camera to pop up. The phone comes with Android 10 right out of the box.

OnePlus 7T Pro is powered by the snapdragon 855+ on deck, which makes it a little faster than the OnePlus 7 Pro in terms of performance. Memory-wise, the OnePlus 7T Pro is available with either 8 or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of fast UFS 3.0 storage. That\'s a generous amount of storage, especially considering the price tag of the device. Speaking of the OnePlus 7T Pro, its camera setup is the same as the one on the OnePlus 7 Pro, with just a few slight differences. It features 48MP main camera, f/1.6, OIS, 1/2\" sensor size, 8MP 3x telephoto camera, f/2.4, OIS, 16MP ultra-wide-angle, f/2.2, 16MP pop-up selfie camera. While it uses the ultra-wide-angle camera, the phone lets you choose three different levels of zoom - 0.6x ultra-wide, 1x regular and 2x zoom.
