We already posted the Samsung Galaxy ALPHA (SM-G850S) official Lollipop 5.0.2 Firmware for Korea. Today, Samsung has started Rolling-out the same Official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Galaxy ALPHA (SM-G850F) in France.

 

Other Regions will get the same update in the upcoming few weeks, So far Korea, France and U.S. AT&T Galaxy Alpha users got the Lollipop update already, all their feedback is positive so far.

 

 

The Update packs Android build 5.0.2, New TouchWiz UI with Material Design, New notifications menu, New lock-screen along with various bug fixes, security enhancements and performance improvements. A major confusion happened yesterday when UK branch of "Three" carrier tweeted that the Galaxy S4 mini will not be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update due to Memory limitation, after few hours "ThreeIreland" branch tweeted that the S4 mini update is approved and passed the testing process.

 

Today, we reached out to Samsung to get a clearance about this. Low-end and mid-range users are NOT forgotten by Samsung, the Korean giant is working hard to bring Lollipop love to as many devices as possible, but time is tight.

We reached out for more information from SamsungUK and ThreeIreland. Our Team got confirmation that the Galaxy S4 mini will indeed receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update but didn't specify any date.

So far all the Information points out that ONLY the Unlocked Galaxy S4 mini will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update, ThreeUK and ThreeIreland won't Roll-out the update after the device has failed their final Testing.

 

 

Plans for Galaxy Ace 4 and Ace Style

 

 

Our source also pointed out that Samsung is planning the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 and Galaxy Ace Style. The Update confirmed for some of the Samsung Galaxy Ace family, we still don't have a confirmed release date for the update yet but here's the list of the confirmed devices:

 

- Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 LTE (SM-G313F) - packs 1GB RAM Snapdragon 410 CPU
- Samsung Galaxy Ace Style LTE (SM-G357) - packs 1GB RAM Snapdragon 410 CPU
- Galaxy Ace Syle (SM-G357FZ) - packs 1GB RAM Snapdragon 410 CPU

Currently, there is no plans (not confirmed) to release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the following device:

 

- Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 (SM-G357F) - packs 512 RAM and Snapdragon 400 CPU

 

The Galaxy Ace family Lollipop updates should start later this year. As for the Galaxy S4 mini, according ThreeIreland and ThreeUK the update won't be rolling-out to these carrier's varaints, only the unlocked S4 mini will get the update.

UK users are still waiting for their official Android 5.0 Lollipop updates. UK carrier, Three, posted some news about the Lollipop updates status for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S4 devices.

 

UK Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Update

 

 

TheeUK confirmed on April,21st via its twitter account that the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop 5.0.1 update has finished Testing and will start Rolling-out very soon. The Update brings updated TouchWiz with Material Design and lots of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Also, ThreeUK, also confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Lollipop update will enter the final testing Phase by the carrier by the end of this month (April,2015). The testing usually takes 1-4 weeks.

Samsung has already rolled-out its Official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update to the Galaxy S4 I9500 and some of it variants. We were awaiting for the Galaxy S4 mini I9515 Lollipop update confirmation for more than 2 months now, Today we've got some bad news for all S4 mini users. UK Carrier, Three, has just officially received a confirmation from Samsung that the Android 5.0 Lollipop Update for the Galaxy S4 mini has been Canceled due to Memory Limitation.

YouMobile team reached out to ThreeUKSupport via twitter and they confirmed that non of the S4 mini variants will get the Lollipop update. Just to remind you, the S4 mini packs a 8GB internal memory (only 5 GB available for the user) along with 1.5 GB RAM (Only 768-900MB available for the user).

Samsung considered this specifications as "limited" and won't be able to provide a smooth Lollipop experience for the users of the S4 mini. However, Samsung France has already confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop update is coming to Galaxy S5 mini variant during the Q2,2015 period (April - May - June). Stay tuned for more Info!

ThreeIreland just announced via its official Twitter (replying to a user query) that its Galaxy S4 mini official Android 5.0 Lollipop update is Approved and on its way, the Carrier explained that its UK firm updates is different from theirs and they have "Approved" the update version they got from Samsung after testing.

Samsung already rolled-out the Lollipop 5.0.2 update for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 earlier this month. Today, Samsung has started Rolling-out the same official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update for its Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Wi-Fi (SM-T700). The Update is currently available Over-the-air (OTA) and via KIES in Korea. The other Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE variant will get the same update by the end of this April.
