Few minuets after we published our report about Samsung's official website that confirms the Galaxy ALPHA Lollipop update. Samsung France official twitter account has just tweeted that the Android Lollipop update for the ALPHA is currently being "deployed" and the update is "imminent".

Samsung Galaxy ALPHA is expected to get Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update anytime during April, packing the an update TouchWiz UX version with Material Design, Bug fixes, New lock screen, update notifications buttons, security fixes and performance enhancements.

Back in February, Samsung Poland officially confirmed that the company will update the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Today, we noticed that Samsung's Denmark official support website mentions that the planned Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 2 will carry Android build 5.0.1 to the old flagship.
It's good to see a 2012 device getting updated to the latest Android version in 2015. This shows how Samsung takes good care of its users. We have no info regarding the release date yet or the update status. The update will bring all the main Lollipop features, new UI and some security enhancements.

Samsung promised to update all its recent devices to Lollipop, not just the its flagships. The Korean giant didn't forget its mid-range device, Galaxy ALPHA. Samsung's Denmark Official support page mentions that the company is planning to update the Galaxy ALPHA to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop (as you can see in the screenshot below), this confirms the update.
Samsung Galaxy ALPHA was one of the highest quality build mid-range Smartphones with a very good Specs. So far, we have no exact release date for the update yet,but we can expect to see the Lollipop build 5.0.1 hit the ALPHA users anytime this quarter (Q2,2015). The update status is currently not known, yet.

Lately, Samsung is hard at work to update its latest flagships devices to the Android 5.0 Lollipop, currently all Samsung's updates are all based on Android 5.0.x build. The Korean giant hasn't started developing on Google's Latest Android 5.1 Lollipop Build, yet.
We got some un-confirmed reports that Samsung is going to update the Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the update will bring the Newest TouchWiz UX that was included on the Galaxy S6 to the company's latest phablet, we don't have the full change-log of the new features that will be included along with this update yet. So, we need to take this report with a grain of salt.
The report also indicates that Samsung's first device to get Android 5.1 Lollipop update will be its latest flagships Galaxy S6 / Galaxy S6 Edge. The update is expected in 2nd half of this year (H2,2015). However, the Android 5.1 updates is currently NOT under-development for any Samsung Device, so it will take long time to see one.

So Far, Samsung has promised to release the Official Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to all its latest flagship devices that were released in he past couple of years, like Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2... What about the good old Galaxy S3 ?
Galaxy S3 Update Canceled!
Well, we have some Bad News for the Galaxy S3 users. Samsung has decided to Cancel Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S3, leaving the old flagship at Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. This decision was made because the device's support has ended as it was released in 2012 (3 years ago).
In other hand, a 1 GB DDR2 Ram and an outdated Exynos 4 CPU is not good enough (in performance prospective) to run Lollipop smoothly which will affect the user experience. We assume that other S3 variants (S3 Neo... etc) won't be getting the update too.
However, Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy Note 2 will get the Lollipop update later this year, known that Note 2 was released just few months after the S3. This doesn't prevent the loyal Galaxy S3 users to enjoy custom Lollipop ROMs for their beloved device.
