We all know that Google is bringing the Play Store on some Chrome OS powered devices very soon, but it hasn't happened yet unfortunately. However, the company did earlier reveal which three devices were eligible initially to get the upgrades necessary for supporting the Play Store and now they have confirmed the whole list. According to the list, at least one Samsung Chromebook is sure to get the stable channel update and that's the Chromebook Plus.

The other five Chromebooks which are also assured to get support for the Play Store are the Acer Chromebook R11 (CB5-132T, C738T), the Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA, the Google Chromebook Pixel (2015). the AOpen Chromebase Mini and the AOpen Chromebox Mini. Although Google has stated that being on the beta channel doesn't guarantee stable Play Store support for these devices in the future, it is worth mentioning that the Acer Chromebook R13 (CB5-312T) and the Asus Chromebook Flip C302 are on the beta channel. It is now official, the Galaxy Note 7 disaster is well and truly behind the company as the S8 and S8+ have seen an unbelievable 30% hike in pre-orders, as compared to the S7 and S7 Edge. Given that the S7 did not have any bad publicity to deal with, it wouldn't have been surprising if people were a bit more apprehensive about the S8 series this year. However, that's not the case and the S8 series is now officially the most successful launch for a smartphone that Samsung has ever experienced.

Tim Baxter, President and CEO at Samsung Electronics America, has proudly stated that the overwhelming response from customers worldwide is a result of Samsung "recommitting" itself as a innovator to bring innovations to the market. This news comes hot in the heels of another important update. Samsung will apparently be releasing a software patch very soon, which will take care of the red tinge issue, which is slowly becoming infamous; something that Samsung will probably not take very lightly.

By now, everybody knows that some units of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have a red tint issue on their screens. However, it is unclear at this point whether or not it's a hardware issue or software glitch. When Samsung stated that they would try to fix the problem with an OTA patch, what it seemed like that they were planning to give more control over the RGB of the two smartphone's screens to its customers. This almost makes it seem like the South Korean company is not even considering it to be a real problem, rather something that certain customers are being picky about.

If you are unlucky enough to get a device with the red tinge, you should be able to notice it right away. From what has been seen so far, the red tint is not exactly something that will completely ruin your experience, but it's certainly not something that any customer would appreciate after paying top dollar for the device either. According to a report by SamMobile, the next flagship chipset from Qualcomm which will likely replace the current gen flagship Snapdragon 835, is already in the process of development. Samsung will allegedly be working with Qualcomm to make this one as well, just like it did with the SD 835. This SoC will reportedly be powering the Galaxy S9 in 2018 and not the Note 8 which will come out later in 2017.

The chipset which might be called the Snapdragon 845 could also be mass manufactured by Samsung in 2018, although there's a chance that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) might also get the contract.

It is to be noted that Samsung had also announced a month ago that they will be producing 6nm and 8nm chips in the near future as well, which offer an even better power-efficiency than what has been achieved by the already impressive first generation 10nm chips; the SD 835 and the Exynos 8895. If you thought the Galaxy S8 was impressive, wait till the Note 8 and the Galaxy S9 hits the market in late 2017 and early 2018 respectively.

Bixby isn't exactly finished yet, but Samsung has already dedicated an entire hardware button to it on its latest flagship handsets. As expected, most people didn't like that much and they complained about Samsung not giving them the ability to remap the button to say the camera, or ideally, the fully functional Google Assistant. The situation was remedied when a XDA Developer released an app onto the Google Play Store that allowed the user to remap the button to his/her liking. This time around, it was Samsung who patched it up and made sure that the app would no longer work after downloading and installing their latest OTA update which also includes the April security patch. At this point, it was believed that the S8 and S8+ will be stuck with Bixby on that button forever, unless you decided to root your device.

Apparently, that belief system was flawed since Redditor Dave Bennet has just releaed an application named BixRemap which does one better over Samsung. However, this time around, the app can only be used to launch Google Assistant instead of Bixby and nothing else. It is still a better option for the button rather than calling up Bixby which doesn't even work with voice commands yet. The user will still see Bixby beginning to launch on pressing the button, but the Google Assistant will replace it in a flash to come up instead. No rooting is necessary to use the app and it can now be downloaded from the Play Store. This app may not be as good as the previous release, but at least this one still works!
