Now that we already have a pretty good idea about what the Galaxy S8 will look like, leakster @mmdj_china has just leaked the RAM details and the exact release date set for the two smartphones in US and China. Both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ will be sporting 6GB of RAM, at least in China. We think that this will be the same in all regions though, given that the Galaxy C9 Pro recently came out with 6 gigs of RAM. Both devices will have a 64GB and a 128GB variant along with expandable memory card slots.

As far as the release date is concerned, according to the leakster, the S8 series will go on sale in the US on April 14. It was mentioned that in China, the S8 and the S8+ will see release in the 15th week of the year. It is a rather strange way to say that the two devices will be available for purchase form the third week of April. These are the latest developments regarding the Galaxy S8, if you want to see the rest of the specs and rumors, check it out here.

Bad news for Samsung keeps piling up as the electronic giant's shares just dropped by 1% at the stock market during busy hours yesterday. This was an obvious reaction to Samsung's vice-chairman Lee Jae-yong getting arrested hours earlier. He has been linked to bribery charges associated with the massive scandal involving President Park Geun-hye and her friend Choi Soon-sil. The court has found the evidence sufficient for it to allow the detention of Lee for up to 20 days, before indictment. As you can imagine, the shares falling is just one of many problems that the conglomerate will be facing, since their leader and soon to be chairman is now out of the picture.

The good news is that this fall in share value is very likely to be only a temporary setback and actually has no relation with Samsung's business in any way. It is believed to be an effect brought on by negative sentiments towards the shameful incident. The last few months have not been kind on Samsung's reputation. After the exploding Galaxy Note 7, Samsung was hoping to build back its reputation as a manufacturer. However, the leader being convicted of white collar crimes that have affected the very economy of South Korea is not going to help that cause!

There were a few rumors around that were claiming that Samsung won't be making an Exynos variant of the Galaxy S8 this year. The rumors found some solid ground when it became clear that Samsung has exclusive rights to hog the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip till the S8 is released in April. As the Korean company is developing the chips for Qualcomm on their own 10nm FinFET process this year, the suggestion that Samsung may ditch the Exynos series when it comes to the Galaxy S8, did not seem that farfetched then. However, Samsung has put those rumors and speculations to rest with their latest teaser about the Exynos series of processors.

The Twitter post simply states, "Discover cloud 9 with Exynos" - coming soon.

This could imply that instead of the rumored Exynos 8895 chip, Samsung will be launching its 10nm series 9 Exynos chips with the S8 this year. The Mali-G71 GPU which will probably be included in the SoC, is designed to handle 4K and VR with ease. Whether the performance can match up to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or not is something that remains to be seen. Going by the history books, Samsung's flagship Exynos processors have always been almost as powerful as their Snapdragon counterparts, but with better power-efficiency.

We knew that the Galaxy Xcover 4 was coming and now some of its specifications have been revealed by GeekBench. In case you are wondering why we think this is the Xcover 4, notice that the smartphone here sports the model number Samsung SM-G930F, while the Xcover 3 had the model number SM-G388F. Apart from the few specs which we can be picked up from the screenshot, it is expected that the device will also sport a rugged shock-resistant body and IP67 water-resistance rating, just like its predecessor. Also take a look at the earlier leak where the Xcover 4 made its first unofficial appearance at the Wi-Fi Alliance database.

Questions regarding whether or not the device will feature a bigger display remains unanswered at this point. The low-powered quad core processor which we are seeing here is probably a budget-end Exynos chip. There's also 512MB more RAM on this device, as compared to the Xcover 3 Value Edition which had 1.5GB of RAM to boot. The good thing is that both the leaks have confirmed that the phone will come with Android Nougat right out of the box.

If you have any version of the old Xcover 3, feel free to check our firmware section for new updates for the device.
