@OnLeaks just revealed a whole lot of details about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 just before the handset is about to be revealed tomorrow on August 2 by Samsung officially at the Unpacked Event. The sheer amount of details that we see in the leaked press renders show us everything that there is to be seen. In fact, the renders are also available in three colors that the Note 7 will be available in.

We even get a look at the next Gear VR headset by Samsung that's about to come out with the Note 7, complete with USB Type-C connectivity. In case you not aware of the specifications of the device yet, here's a final look before it comes out officially.

We found a video on the YouTube channel named TIZEN Indonesia which shows us leaked footage of the upcoming Samsung Z2 for a brief period of about 33 seconds. Check out the video and you will even see the already released Z1 and Z3 beside the upcoming Z2. All the three Tizen-powered smartphones seem to be running an app named Unity on screen.

Although we are happy to see live footage of the unreleased Z2 in action, the quality of the video leaves something to be desired though. Also, we did not get a look at the back of the device. It wasn't really revealed in the video, but most of us are expecting the Samsung Z2 to be powered by 1GB of RAM, a quad-core processor, a 2,000 mAh battery and a 4.5-inch display. The device will of course be powered by the Tizen OS 3.0 and will possibly be made available for purchase in Asia and parts of Africa.

Apart from the Tizen OS 3.0 though, the hardware specs are nothing to write home about and they are a bit disappointing to be honest. However, we are used to seeing budget devices with low-end hardware configurations from Samsung by now.

With roughly half a week left until the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is officially revealed on August 2, let us take a look at what we know already through leaks and rumors. To be frank, there isn't much left to the imagination as we have come across enough renders, leaked images and videos to have a pretty good idea about what to expect.

What's new?

The Galaxy Note 7 will be a pioneer for Samsung in two departments; it will be the first device to both sport a USB Type-C port as well as a first of its kind iris scanner. It will also be the first Note from Samsung's arsenal that will only be available in a dual Edge curved display variant. There was a flat screen variant as well and we have seen enough proof to convince us, but sadly, it never left the prototype stage.

What else?

Contrary to the popular rumor, the Note 7 will not be sporting a 5.8-inch display, but will stick to the 5.7-inch 1440p formula for now. There is a bit of controversy regarding the chipset that Samsung will use as it could be the same Snapdragon 820 SoC we are now used to seeing inside all major flagship devices of the year, but other more popular rumors/sources seem to indicate that the Note 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC (Exynos 8893 for the international version).

There is a speculation that suggests the Note 7 will come in three variants in terms of internal storage and two variants in terms of RAM. It appears that there could be both a 4GB and a 6GB version, separated by the price tag of course. Internal storage options will be 64GB, 128GB and a whopping 256GB! The camera setup will remain the same with the 12mp/5mp configuration seen on the S7 and S7 Edge.

It will come with the same water and dust resistant ratings of IP68 as the S7-series and will be available in Onyx, Blue Coral and Silver Titanium color variants. The Galaxy Note 7 will possibly run on Android Marshmallow, although, some rumors seem to be indicating that it could feature Android Nougat (7.0) right out of the box. We will just have to wait and see to find out more on August 2. In the meanwhile, check out this trailer we found on Samsung Mobile Korea's YouTube channel.

It has just recently come to public attention that the upcoming Galaxy S8 is codenamed Project Dream. The moniker may have a lot to do with VR and the next steps that Samsung will take to enhance the technology. Even though it is just too early in the day to know in details about the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone for 2017, sources are pointing towards a 4K Ultra High Definition display (3840 × 2160) on a 5.5-inch panel. They are also pointing towards an independent VR device named Odyssey that will compete with the likes of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

It is rumoured that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 SoC to power everything, with an Exynos equivalent for the international version of course. However, we are pretty sure that the chipset would have to be extremely powerful to run VR apps at 4K resolution! Considering that the Oculus Rift with a lower resolution (2160 × 1200) requires a minimum of a GTX 970 (high end GPU for desktops) to be used properly with a fully fledged desktop, the chipset will have to be significantly more powerful than what we have seen so far on smartphones.

Samsung has now made the SamsungOne official and joins the list of companies with their own unique font, with that step. In case you are wondering what some of those companies are, how about Google and Apple for example? The SamsungOne typeface has been designed to cover an astonishing 400 languages, 26 writing systems and more than 25K glyphs. Now that's what we call a global company!

As the name suggests, SamsungOne is designed to create a visual sense of universal unity, irrespective of the language on which it is applied. Keep in mind that SamsungOne is designed to not only be featured in smartphones, but across all the products that they manufacture and sell, including television sets, microwave ovens, refrigerators and the like. The five typographical principles which they followed while developing the typeface in collaboration with Brody Associates are Humanist, Distinctive, Expert, Universal and Legible.

Although we are not sure when we will see Samsung start using SamsungOne, take a look at the images for a preview. We also have a small video for you from Samsung Newsroom to explain the story behind the concept.
