Barcelona was the site of much interest from Samsung device lovers who wanted to see what the SE Asian company had in store for consumers. A couple of flagship devices and a 360-degree virtual reality camera received much of the buzz at the industry event.

The Galaxy S7 could easily be mistaken for the Galaxy S6. Okay, so it has been updated with a more metallic look and it is sleeker too, but it is unmistakably an S series device. Fans of the S series device will also be pleased to learn that Samsung have been listening and return some of the features removed from the S6. Namely, the microSD card slot has made a welcome return and storage limits are bumped up to 200GB. The water resistance is also back, so if you spill a coffee on the phone, it might just survive. Remember, we didn't say waterproof, it's only water resistant.

The camera drops from 16-megapixels to 12-megapixels, but the larger pixels and f/1.7 aperture lets in more light for improved low-light performance. The autofocus is faster and a front-facing selfie flashes the screen to provide more light. The 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 820 SoC makes the phone hum along.

The Galaxy S7 Edge also gets the 12-megapixel camera and microSD card slot. It also have more curves in the design and space for notifications. The icons and tabs are larger to match its 5.5-inch screen. The processor is the same as with the S7.

Both devices are released on March 11 and will be compatible with the Samsung Gear VR headset which is offered as a bonus for anyone pre-ordering either device.

The Samsung Gear 360 is a 30-megapixel 360-degree camera that uses 2 fish-eye lenses to capture images and video. Its resolution is 3,820x1,920 which is almost the 4K standard. Each f/2.0 fish-eye lenses covers 195-degrees and images can be stitched together using the S7 or S7 edge. The device is not expected for release until the summer season.

The next iteration in the S line of devices is the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge which come with some interesting new features. The Gear 360 virtual reality camera is also available for use with these flagship handsets. However, previous Gear VR headsets are also compatible with the S7 and S7 edge models.

The Galaxy S7 will be available for 699 Euros and the Galaxy S7 edge will be priced at 799 Euros. The good news is that the Galaxy S7 edge is actually less expensive than the previous Galaxy S6 edge by 50 Euros. However, the Galaxy S7 comes in at the same price as its predecessor, the Galaxy S6.

The Gear 360 is a small camera that will cost a surprising 419 Euros. This might hurt the wallet or purse quite a bit. With that said, it can truly take 360-degree photos and videos which sets it apart from the competition. For anyone interested in using this feature for YouTube videos or live streaming, it opens up some new, interesting options.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be available from March 11. The Gear 360 is slated for release in the second quarter of 2016.

Last year in December, we got a news tip that showed the plans for the series of new Android updates for Samsung smartphones. As per that the Note 5's Marshmallow update was pushed from Q4 2015 to Q1 2016. According our tipster during that time the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS pack was under testing. The official shipping was supposed to start in this quarter. Well, right now Samsung has made it official and they are rolling out the update to the unlocked S6 devices across the world and next in line are the carrier models.

The Korean tech giant has also revealed the featured packed in this update. The standard features like power-saving Doze option, the micro permission management, or the video sound speed adjustment will be there. In addition to these, Samsung has modified the user interface too. The notification bar region, which is one of the ugly looking feature of TouchWiz, will now sport a white theme. If we go by the words of the beta testers, it seems the user interface along with the keyboard have been improved in terms of responsiveness and speed.

Moreover they also providing latest Samsung Internet 4.0 browser and a very useful Cross App multi-window option for the chat sessions.

The specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 have been leaked and the news it pretty good.

Firstly, the 5.8-inch display will come with a slim RGB AMOLED display, which is likely to improve upon the PenTile-type display of the previous Galaxy Note models. Secondly, the dazzling 6 GB of RAM memory is sure to be able to handle any future Android OS upgrade and numerous resource-heavy apps running at the same time.

Whilst the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are garnering the most attention ahead of their unveiling, the Galaxy Note 6 has other people curious who've owned a Note before and cannot manage well without an S Pen and the S Pen range of compatible apps.

The latest Note is likely to also sport the Super OIS Plus 12-megapixel camera which is slated for other Samsung models like the S7 and S7 edge as well.

The Mobile World Congress 2016 in Spain from February 21 is going to set the stage for many interested handset releases, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge from Samsung. Last year, Samsung walked away with the "Best New Handset, Tablet or Device" award for the Galaxy S6 edge and it's possible they may just achieve the same this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 leaked in Dubai in the last couple of days with a reveal of the device, its packaging, and the exact contents of the retail Galaxy S7 box.

The video, which only runs 15 seconds, is still long enough to reveal or confirm a few of its features. The model in question was a black variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7. The SIM card slot includes space for a SIM card and a microSD card slot. The return of the much loved microSD card slot will satisfy may consumers who were dismayed at its notable absence in recent models.

The device is expected to have a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that has a degree of water or splash resistance from its IP68 or IP67 official rating. The design of the handset won't hold many surprises as it looks not unlike the Galaxy S6 with sleek metal around the sides and glass present both front and back. The glass is modified this time to be curved around the edges which lends the device a sleeker look and the home button is more pronounced.

The battery is a question mark with information suggesting it might have a 2,800 mAh battery, however, other sources still hold that the battery will have a 3,000 mAh capacity.

No sign of a USB Type-C port here either with Samsung sticking with the slower, non-reversible microUSB 2.0 port.

The handset will use TouchWiz as a skin over the top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The TouchWiz interface looks to have been flattened and curved more than before. Flipboard integration, love it or hate it, is still there, but again the user can disable it.
