The first believable photos of the back of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 have surfaced. Along with the back image comes rumored specifications for the latest model in the flagship S range of smartphones.

At first glance, the image certainly looks accurate rather than a Photoshop mockup designed to fool interested observers. Just like rumors about the camera bump has previously suggested, there is no noticeable bump at the back where the camera lens is situated. This will please people who dislike this aspect of the S phone design.

The frame of the revealed phone is said to have a magnesium metal frame, unlike the aluminum frame of its predecessor.

The Samsung Exynos chipset included with the S7 is expected to be an upgraded version with a 15% improvement to CPU and GP performance. A Qualcomm Snapdragon variant is also expected to have similar specifications. DAC high-end audio, namely the ESS Sabre 9018, is thought to be included in both variants and matches the audio in the current LG V10 smartphone.

Battery life is expected to match the previous Samsung Note with a fast charging battery capable of going from zero to 80% in half an hour. Some degree of water resistance is a possibility too. The camera, without the bump, is thought to use a 12-megapixel Britecell sensor on the rear offering an f/1.8 aperture.

The expected release date is March 18, with both variants being previewed on March 3

The latest piece of information comes straight from Russia as Eldar Murtazin states that the battery life on the Galaxy S7 will be excellent. According to the Russian blogger, after a single full charge, the S7 will be able to function for two days straight. If this is true then the S7 will definitely see a significant battery upgrade compared to the S6, which was often criticized for poor battery life in an otherwise perfect phone.

This piece of information or "leak" is a follow up from Murtazin's last update regarding his pre-release review of the Galaxy S7 series. Just a few days ago, he declared that the S7 was able to play videos for 17 hours at a stretch with screen brightness set to maximum. On the 3rd of February, he tweeted more about the battery, complete with screenshots of the dual-SIM S7 variant's battery manager. He also mentioned that he was able to get two full days of usage on the his Galaxy S7 with the brightness at 75% and 4G LTE connection activated and used throughout the test.

In spite of being very convincing, we cannot confirm Murtazin's words unless we hear something official or see something more concrete. As far
as we know, the S7 will feature a 3000mAh battery, while the S7 Edge will be powered by 3500mAh of juice. Whether the larger battery is actually able to serve the S7 as well as claimed by the blogger, we will found out in roughly two weeks on February 21 at the Samsung Unpacked 2016.

Although there was not an iota of doubt regarding existence of the soon to be launched Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (or its name), an official confirmation from Samsung's own website is surely an important thing before the launch.

They recently added a new page about the edge screen features on the website where the company lets developers download SDKs and other similar development kits. This page is not only dedicated to description the edge screen features, but also used to show the devices in which they will be used. The most likely candidates, the Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6 edge+ are listed just like the Galaxy S7. Hence the existence of the flagship device along with the name is officially confirmed.

Apart from this, new edge display functions, which are matching with the S6 edge models's display features after getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, have also been displayed on the website. Adjacent to the normal, narrow edge panels (‘Edge Single'), wider type (‘Edge Single Plus') panels will be added which will show more information and functionality. Those who loved the extensive functionality of the edge display panels present in Galaxy Note Edge, would sure love these wider edge panels in this smartphone.

It is nice to know that Samsung is proactive when it comes to finding fresh and and improved ways use the most popular features that came with nice aesthetics, but didn't score much in terms of functionality. It looks like the Galaxy S7 edge is moving in the right direction.

Recent reports by the popular market research firm Gartner reveals that the total worth of business conducted by Samsung and Apple in the semiconductor industry is about $59 billion, which constitutes 17.7% of the entire semiconductor business in the world. While the numbers are astounding, the rankings weren't really a surprise as it has been the same for the last five years. The deductions and estimations that were made from the reports were however, more interesting.

Total revenue brought in from the chip business suffered a decline of 1% in 2015 when compared to 2014. Samsung's own chip demands declined by 3.6% last year. Apple on the other hand, saw its semiconductor needs rise by 7.1% in 2015, which added an extra $800 million to last year's tally.

In spite of the fact that the semiconductor business as a whole isn't doing too well, Samsung will have its work cut out because it has now become the supplier of high-end chips for both Qualcomm and Apple; two of the biggest names in the silicon business. Nonetheless, as far as the title of the world's leading chip consumer is concerned, it looks like Apple is going to take it by the end of 2016.

Samsung upgraded its "A" series for the releases in 2016 and now they going for the economical "J" series. Right now the Galaxy J1 (2016) is available in the market, to be specific - in Dubai. We are also expecting that J5 (2016) and J7 (2016) will be released.

These new devices look quite promising, thanks to some kernel sources, unraveled by one a mobile enthusiast. The code was identified in the kernel sources of the Galaxy A9 and apparent name of a device, codenamed as "j7xlte".

This code also reveals many of the smartphone's features and specifications. The Galaxy J7 (2016) will feature a FullHD display, most likely a 5.5-inch one, going by previous GFXBench leak. Super AMOLED is nothing out of ordinary for this device , but it also quite easy to figure more details from the model number - ss_dsi_panel_S6E3FA3_AMS549JR01_FHD.

The new J7 will run on a Snapdragon 650 SoC (earlier named as the SD 618). Consumers can expect 3GB RAM, a 13MP the primary camera equipped with the Samsung S5K3L2XX sensor. The front snapper is supposedly a 5MP unit backed by Samsung S5K5E3YX sensor, 1.1µm pixels, coupled with a 23mm f/2.2 lens.

Note that there are signs of a fingerprint reader on the Galaxy J7 (2016), which is a significant boost to the device. Buyers can also expect a microSD card slot and a 4,300 mAh battery.
