According to the latest reports, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S will feature the fingerprint sensor that will be integrated in the home button. Much like the one on the Galaxy S5, you'll be able to unlock the 10.5" and 8.4" Super AMOLED tablets by swiping your finger on the sensor.

Another cool addition that made its debut on the Galaxy S5 is an Ultra Power Saving Mode. The battery-sparing feature would turn the Super AMOLED display into black and white mode, while also force a simple homescreen layout with a limited array of apps allowed to run. Stay tuned for the release.

A new document leaked from a Finnish retailer Multitronic showed us the retail prices of two upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S slates that was leaked before.

According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is going to retail for €563.90. And for the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Wi-Fi, the Finnish store states a price of €449.90.

The Wi-Fi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (SM-T800) made the FCC rounds a couple of weeks back. There are also a couple of images that leaked, thanks to which we can see how the 10.5" tablet looks like in the flesh.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5's display will have a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, while an Exynos 5420 chipset with octa-core CPU will make sure everything stays fluid. The Android version in charge is the latest available Android 4.4 KitKat.

Japan Display (JDI) just announced the first 10.1" tablet display panel with the whopping 3840 x 2160 pixels of 4K resolution. This elevates the LCD panel to 438ppi pixel density, which would be a record on a tablet, when this screen lands in one. For comparison, the current king of tablet pixel density is Samsung's Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4 with 359ppi and 2560 x 1600 pixels display.

What's even more impressive is the fact that JDI used a regular RGB pixel matrix, with no PenTile or "Diamond pixels" shenanigans, in order to achieve that resolution.

Thanks to employing the frugal LTPS technology, JDI managed to frame the power consumption of its 4K tablet panel in the envelope of displays with the Tab PRO 8.4's resolution, which should bode well for the overall battery life. Moreover, the screen flaunts 1100:1 contrast ratio, a 160-degree viewing angle, and a peak brightness of 400 nits, which are very good characteristics for an IPS-LCD tablet display.

Today, Ubuntu 14.04 was released on canonical website, this release software is fully ready for tablets and will be running on Commercial Tablets very soon. The phone version of Ubuntu has been essentially done since October.

Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth said in March that the first Ubuntu phones will likely come out this fall, but since manufacturers won't need to worry about carriers, there is a fair chance that we'll see commercially available Ubuntu tablets before then.

Canonical put out a press release today saying that 14.04 (codenamed Trusty Tahr) will "form the basis of the first commercially available Ubuntu tablets from Canonical's OEM partners", but there was no word on exactly who those partners might be.
