According to the latest reports we got from our HTC Official Updates Tracker, The Desire 816G is expected to get the Lollipop update is currently under "Testing" and should start Rolling-out during the last Quarter of the year (Q4,2015).

The HTC Desire 816H update will pack many performance improvements, new lock screen, new notification panel and updated User Interface but still keeps the Sense UI v6.0 on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop build. You can check the official update change-log on the screenshot below (taken from an HTC Desire 816 original variant).

Plans for Updating this variant to Android 5.1 Lollipop or Marshmallow 6.0 is still not clear yet, stay tuned!

SanDisk has introduced the first 200GB microSDXC card a while ago and it's currently on the markets. Now, a company called Microdia, and while it doesn't quite have the same brand recognition as the memory card giant, this California-based company also makes flash memory and accessories. Microdia introduced the first microSD card that stuffs 512GB worth of storage space into a piece of plastic smaller than your fingernail.

Naturally, it won't be cheap. Microdia says it estimates the Xtra Elite will cost around $1,000 which converts to around £655 or AU$1,285 when it goes on sale by the end of this year, though that's not the final retail price. You can buy a 64GB card for around $30, £18 or AU$35.

The Xtra Elite will use version 4.0 of the Secure Digital standard, and feature an Ultra High Speed (UHS) bus with data transfer rates of up to 300MBps. Because it's using SD 4.0, the card features an additional row of pins below the standard ones.

Gartner has unveiled its latest research about the state of the phone market in the second quarter of 2015, and there are two big conclusions: First, that Android is Dominating in the Top smartphones market worldwide. Secondly, that Google's Android and Apple's iOS together now control a whopping 96.8% of the smartphone market, and the other 3.2% is getting even smaller year-by-year.

Apple's iOS is actually gaining new ground, growing to get a 14.4% of the market with 48.1 million devices sold in the quarter, up from a market share of 12.2% in the second quarter of 2014.

Google's Android, on the other hand, remains the dominant leader, but while it has grown the absolute number in units shipped to 271 million (up from 243.48 million in Q2 2014), its share has actually dwindled to 82.2%, down from 83.8%.

Qualcomm has unveiled two new chipsets today. The Snapdragon 412 SoC and the Snapdragon 212 SoC are slight improvements over the Snapdragon 410 and Snapdragon 210 chipsets that they replace. The Snapdragon 212 is an entry-level chip set that will find usage in the lowest priced smartphones, while the Snapdragon 412 will be found in mid-range handsets.

Let's start with the Snapdragon 412 SoC. Qualcomm has raised the maximum clock speed on the 64-bit capable Corex-A53 cores to 1.4GHz. And while the Adreno 306 continues to handle graphics, it too is running faster as compared to the clock speeds employed on the SD-410. The latter ran its four Cortex-A53 cores at a max of 1.2GHz. Manufactured using the same 28nm process as it predecessor, the Snapdragon 412 supports screens with a resolution of 1200 x 1920. The chipset also features QuickCharge 2.0, and can handle video playback from 13MP cameras. It also offers X5 LTE connectivity (Cat.4, 150Mbps), along with support for Wi-Fi, b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0.

The Snapdragon 212 bumps the clock speed of the four Cortex-A7 cores to 1.3GHz from the 1.1GHz used on the Snapdragon 210. The Adreno 304 GPU returns, and the chipset is built using the 28nm process just like the SD-210. The new chipset supports screens with a resolution of 720p, and will also handle 1080p video in H.264 and H.265. Devices powered with this chip can employ up to an 8MP camera. Connectivity options include Cat.4 LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1+ BLE, USB 2.0 and Quick Charge 2.0.

Cyanogen's employee Adnan Begovic dropped quite the bomb over the Seattle Coderush dev event. He claims today Cyanogen has over 50 million users, which is more than Windows Mobile and BlackBerry combined.

And let me stop you before you start digging evidences and reports that this is not true. He is absolutely right, at least technically.

Windows Mobile is the key here the OS is the predecessor of Windows Phone and very few people are still using it today. The golden era of the Windows Mobile has been long over and only few users are still using their WM phones. Most of them probably use the notorious HTC HD2 and may even not run WM, but that's for another topic.

There is a chance Adnan Begovic meant Windows Phone instead of Windows Mobile. This means someone at Cyanogen was too keen to brag before making any proper calculations. Windows Phone had 50 million active users by the end of 2013 as per AdDuplex report, which means 20 months later those should be a lot more. And we are sure BlackBerry users are enough to tip the scales even if the Microsoft platform has been standing still.
