You may feel it a slightly heavy and not for people with small hands. If you go through the specs, it is essentially the same device as the Redmi K30 4G. Maybe the reason behind the similarity is the collaboration between Redmi and Xiaomi teams. POCO X2 is limited to the Indian market now and may extend to other countries in the future. It's been some time since Xiaomi revealed a prototype for the Mi Mix Alpha - a phone with an extraordinary screen that wraps entirely around the phone. Now, the tech YouTube Marques had a more in-depth look at the prototype. It may seem like a very attractive product for a prototype, but it still needs some software-level optimization to do the magic trick.

The main attraction of the Xiaomi Mix Mix Alpha is its dazzling scree. It is a 7.9-inch display, measured from end to end with 2088 x 2250 resolution screen. The screen wraps around the phone and has a ceramic strap on the back of the phone that features all the cameras. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 855 plus processor and comes with a 4,050mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. The phone has a 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal flash storage. Xiaomi decided to do some unusual placement of the software features to utilize the wrapping screen to its full strength. For example, the left edge of the screen showcases necessary information like time/date and notifications.

It has a sort of dashboard for other software features like weather, music control, a step counter, etc. The phone has a 198MP primary camera for taking selfies. Xiaomi placed some digital controls for the volume and power button on the top side. He states that using these buttons can be hit or miss. Xiaomi is still working on the palm rejection algorithm which may cause some accidental presses while using the phone. The company hasn't provided any further information on the availability of the phone yet but rumors suggest that the phone will be available in the market in September 2019 at 19,999 yuan or about $2,800 which is quite expensive for a phone.

redmi k30 pro

Last year's Redmi K20 Pro was inarguably one of the best flagship smartphones from the company. The device offered high-quality hardware at a very affordable price, making it one of the most popular smartphones of the year.

Xiaomi has officially confirmed on Weibo that the Redmi K30Pro will arrive in March, although we don't have a specific date yet. It also uploaded a poster showing a phone without a punch-hole camera in the top corners. The Redmi K30 Pro has expected the company's latest smartphone belongs to the flagship category, just like its predecessor K20 Pro.

We have heard a lot about the phone so far, and now we know that it is coming next month. The poster and the leaks also give hint that Redmi K30 Pro will feature a pop-up selfie camera instead of the K30's punch-hole cute-out. The picture doesn't show the whole display but it doesn't make any sense for having the selfie camera the bottom of the device. But it is far more likely that Xiaomi is reverting to the K20 family's pop-up camera.

A few rumors suggest that the device will feature a 64MP quad rear camera system. Other leaks suggest that the K30 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 and will support the 5G network connectivity. The device has a 4,700mAh battery that is sufficient enough to keep it on charge for a whole day even for the heavy user. Unfortunately, the phone doesn't offer wireless charging. We have to wait till next month to see what else the phone has to offer.

Although no many people find expandable storage of any use, a lot of people prefer to have a MicroSD card slot on a phone. Unfortunately, a lot of phones nowadays don't use this extra storage space. These manufacturers choose not to include the MicroSD card slot merely because it takes up precious space that could be filled by more important components.

Xiaomi though might have a different approach for this. Every smartphone uses a SIM card slot for the SIM, so why not have a SIM card that is also a microSD card. This will save the extra spaced needed for a microSD card slot taking up on your phone.
A patent found by IT Home shows how Xiaomi is working on the revolutionary storage technology that may end up the need for separate slots altogether. The card would have the usual SIM technology on one side and then storage technology on the other side. This would, of course, require a specialized SIM tray that can read both ends. The only drawback here is that only Xiamoi phones could use this kind of technology. As this technology is patent by the company.

It may seem like a brilliant idea but it might be too late. Since eSIM technology is going to be a more popular form of technology in smartphones, and there might not be even a space for a physical SIM tray the card in the upcoming few years. However, between now and then Xiamoi could entice people looking for expandable storage to buy its products.
