The Upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone, Galaxy S6, will be unveiled on March 1st, at MWC 2015 in Barcelona. According to a report from the news website IBNLive, Samsung Galaxy S6 will officially launch on all market in India in the second week of April.
The report also notes that the device will be up for pre-booking for a couple of weeks beginning next month. Interestingly, there was no word regarding the curved screen variant, allegedly called the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Meanwhile, over in the US, several major carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint have started accepting pre-registrations for the flagship.
Are you waiting for the Galaxy S6 ? Are you located in the U.S. ? WE have some good news today, Verizon has just announced that it will be bringing the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The carrier will start accepting Pre-orders for both devices starting from April,1st and will start shipping by late April.
Verizon hasn't announced pricing details just yet, but it's probably going to offer the S6 starting at $199.99 with a new two-year contract, and the S6 edge from $299.99 with the same arrangement. We'll surely find out more details pretty soon, since we're only about three weeks away from the starting point of the pre-orders.

Samsung's latest TouchWiz UX version finally added support for Themes. The Galaxy A series (A3, A5 and A7) were the first devices to feature TouchWiz themes, then the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy S6 supported the same features later on.
The new TouchWiz supports theme creation tool that allows you to design and share your very own theme. Sadly, The availability of the tool is extremely limited, but Samsung seems to be working on expanding its reach. Samsung's Support answered to a user than Galaxy S6 will join the mentioned phones in the theme creation service and its availability will be expanded over more markets.
The Samsung's support team suggests you keep an eye over this page, which will allow for Galaxy S6 support this April. We guess the Galaxy S6 edge will get the theme creating feature alongside the Galaxy S6.

Samsung's security update for the month of April has now been released and is available for most major flagships to download as part of Samsung's monthly Security Maintenance Release or SMR. As is always the case, the package contains security patches from both Samsung and of course, Google. The SMR includes all 41 fixes from Google with the 35 CVE items as follows:
CVE-2016-1503(C), CVE-2014-6060(C), CVE-2016-0835(C), CVE-2016-0836(C), CVE-2016-0837(C), CVE-2016-0838(C), CVE-2016-0839(C), CVE-2016-0840(C), CVE-2016-0841(C), CVE-2016-0842(C), CVE-2016-0846(H), CVE-2016-0847(H), CVE-2016-0848(H), CVE-2016-0849(H), CVE-2016-0850(H), CVE-2016-2412(H), CVE-2016-2413(H), CVE-2016-2414(H), CVE-2016-2415(H), CVE-2016-2416(H), CVE-2016-2417(H), CVE-2016-2418(H), CVE-2016-2419(H), CVE-2016-2420(M), CVE-2016-2421(M), CVE-2016-2422(M), CVE-2016-2423(M), CVE-2016-2424(M), CVE-2016-2425(M), CVE-2016-2426(M), CVE-2016-2427(M), CVE-2016-1621(C), CVE-2016-0832(M), CVE-2016-0805(C), and CVE-2016-0806(C).
Index: (C) - Critical severity (H) - High severity (M) - Moderate severity and (L) - Low severity.
The main Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) addressed in the SMR for April are as follows:
SVE-2016-5393: ACIPC-MSOCKET driver local privilege escalation Vulnerability (Critical)
The vulnerability allowed the attacker to cause a stack overflow and in the process, get privilege escalation. It has been fixed by correcting the code and by restricting access to the file itself. The critical vulnerability affected Marvell chipsets with JBP (4.2) and KK (4.4).
SVE-2016-5534: Non-existent Notification Listener App Vulnerability (High)
The threat affected the Galaxy S6 Edge by permitting all apps with a certain component name to get notified, irrespective of whether the actual application was installed or not. The issue is fixed by removing the component thoroughly from enabled notification listeners.
SVE-2016-5544: Clipboard Vulnerability (Medium)
Any device which was using Samsung clipboard was susceptible to the threat. It permits making of a race condition that allows access to the clipboard user data of Secure World, right from Normal World. It has been fixed through introduction of certain synchronization points which eliminate any chances of creating a race condition.
There are a few others, but they are undisclosed at the moment for security reasons.

If the latest rumors are correct (which they mostly are nowadays!), then the Galaxy S8 will be up for pre-order from April 10. Of course the only official info that we have on its release date is that the S8 and the S8+ will be unveiled at a Samsung exclusive event, which will be held simultaneously in New York City and London on March 29. The unofficial word is that both phones will be available for purchase from April 21 and not from April 15, as was thought previously. We will find out which is the right date soon enough.
While all of this is quite exciting, we are a bit disappointed by the fact that all reports and leaks are indicating that the Galaxy S8 may feature just 4GB of RAM. Now, let it be clear that 4GB of RAM is mostly enough for even the avid multitasker and the S8 series of smartphones should be able handle anything you throw at them thanks to the SD 835/Exynos 8895 SoC that they will be packing. However, it still feels a bit odd that Samsung would opt for 4 gigs of RAM for their flagship devices when the Galaxy C9 Pro already features 6GB of RAM. We will have to wait a while to find out for sure though.

It was only a few days ago that the Galaxy C7 Pro was launched in India and the device is already receiving the latest April security patch from Samsung in the region. This would be the first official update for the device from Samsung in India and it's a welcome one as it patches up the Android security gaps which pops up every month and subsequently needs to be patched in.
The SMALL package of 35.4 MB will reach all eligible smartphones in the region via OTA and the users whohave not been auto-notified to update their phones yet, should get the [prompt any time now. The build number of the firmware is MMB29M.C701FDDU1AQCA and doesn't seem to be bringing anything other than the SMR update to the Galaxy C7 Pro. We don't have any information about the Chinese variant receiving the same yet, but it is definitely a possibility.

Google released the Android distribution report for April,2015. The latest report reveals Lollipop has 5.4% of the world's Android devices, five months after its source code was made available.
There's some good growth for sure, seeing that Lollipop was up and running on just 3.3% of devices in March. The number should keep growing, as device manufacturers are shipping tons of Android 5.0 devices, and current high-end smartphones all come running Lollipop out of the box.

XDA Forums is known for its huge numbers of custom ROMs and Apps for Android. XDA just announced that Google is going to acquire them.... Here's the forums official statement: "We are delighted to announce that starting on April 20th, a finalized deal with Google will make XDA Developers a software development division for the beloved search giant. This exciting transition will start as early as next week, where new XDA Talent Scouts from Google will browse our forums and reward the best contributors and offer them software development or design positions as well. A new set of XDA Forum Moderators from Google's Legal Department will also make sure that the new policies that arise from the acquisition are met."
Of course this is more of a wish than an April's fool !

The anticipated Apple Watch is expected sometime this spring, but in-depth information about certain versions of the wearable is already circulating in the air. A recent piece of info about the most exquisite variation of the wearable, the 42mm gold-plated Edition one, claims to reveal how much gold it will come with.
From the looks of it, the luxurious Apple Watch will pack a 29.16 grams of 18-karat gold. As per the current prices of gold, the Apple Watch Edition will come with $853.82 worth of gold. This is an approximate estimation, based on the notion that the average wall thickness of the watch case will be 1.15mm; the additional parts of the watch, such as the crown, the number markers, dials, and other parts of the gadget.
So, if just the watch case costs around $900 to make, how much will the Apple Watch Edition cost, exactly? It's about $1600 and will be here this April.

The pricing of the three main versions of the Apple Watch was finally announced at the company's Spring forward event.
The Apple Watch Sport is made out of special aluminum alloy, which is 60% tougher than regular alloys, but still as light. It's offered in 38mm and 42mm versions and will cost $349 and $399, respectively.
Then there's the Apple Watch, what you'd consider to be the classic version. It features a stainless steel body and its price is dependent on the band you choose. Prices for the 38mm range from $549 to $1049, while the 42mm will sell from $599 to $1099.
Finally, the Apple Watch Edition, which is made out of 18K gold is going to start at $10,000 for the 38mm one and $12,000 for the 42mm. Tim Cook didn't specify any further pricing information about it but one thing's for sure, it's a limited edition thing and will only be offered in select Apple stores.
Customers can try the two simpler versions of the Apple Watch in many Apple retail stores starting April 10. You can pre-order them from the same date with purchases shipping from April 24. Not all countries will get it at first, as sales will commence in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and the US.

The LG G4 was very much unlikely to be unveiled at the MWC a few weeks from now, and recent reports in Korean media leave no doubt about that. An LG insider is quoted saying that the successor to the QHD-packing G3 flagship has an April launch date on its road map.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) in Barcelona will be a battle for attention between hotly-anticipated top-end smartphones from Samsung and HTC, and LG aims to distance itself from all that clamor. An April release will let the dust settle after the high-profile launches and let the spotlight shine solely on the LG G4. The device will hit markets worldwide sometimes during June.

LG has announced the official date of the LG G4 flagship launch event that will take place in New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul.. The new flagship will be announced on April,28th according to the press invites the Korean giant sent out.
The Upcoming flagship, LG G4 will feature leather in its build (check the invitation). Past rumors have already suggested that the Korean manufacturer will focus on using premium materials in its next flagship.
Rumored specifications of LG G4 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 with hexa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and 5.5" QHD display. There will be a 16MP main camera and 8MP front-facing snapper on board.

Sony fans are impatiently waiting for its upcoming flagship, Xperia Z4. According to new reports circulating the web Sony is planning to announce its new Xperia flagship smartphone aka "Sony Xperia Z4" on April,20th. Xperia's Z4 specs, press renders, and live photos are already here, which hints at a smartphone that clearly can't take much longer to come.
Even though Sony has little to surprise us with at this point, we're keeping our fingers crossed for an Xperia Z4 announcement eight days before the LG G4 drops. There's a lot to love about Xperia smartphones, and the Z4 is shaping up to be the best one so far with its 5.2-inch high-resolution display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 to 4GB of RAM, 20.7MP main camera, and of course, the signature Sony metal and glass build.

The OTA update is hitting both the 9.7-inch version and the 8-inch version, but not in the same areas. According to reports, the 8-nch Galaxy Tab S2 with the model number SM-T715 is receiving Nougat in Italy, while in Germany, the 9.7 inch variant with model number SM-T810 is getting the same upgrade. However, it's only a matter of days before all devuces in the regions start receiving the upgrade to the latest and greatest Android OS.

Apart from the usual bells and whistles that are associated with each and every Nougat update, the Tab S2 will not feature a completely new user interface, that is better, faster and more secure, thanks to the April SMR. Although the upgrade to Android Nougat is probably the update that all of you are waiting for when it comes to the C9 Pro, unfortunately, it isn't out yet. Nevertheless, the April SMR from Android, along with Samsung's own set of bug fixes for the Galaxy C9 Pro has just started to hit the high-end device. The report from The Android Soul did not specifically mention the regions receiving the updates currently, but chances are that all of the regions will start receiving the OTA update within a few days because there are only a handful of nations where the C9 Pro is being sold currently.
The firmware version of the update is C900FDDU1AQC5 and it should provide protection against all the latest threats to security posed by malware and hackers to the overall Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and the overlying Samsung UI. Don't worry much about the Nougat update right now as the C9 Pro is guaranteed to get it soon (fingers crossed!). Also, the Marshmallow v6.0.1 OS runs pretty smooth on the SD 653 SoC and 6GB RAM, so you shouldn't have much to complain about. However, if you want to check out some custom ROMs and firmware updates from various sources, head over to our firmware section now.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) just started to receive the Android security patch for the month of April in India. The OTA package is quite slim at only 25.78MB and has the build number MMB29K.J710FXXU3AQD4. Along with the 49 CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) fixes included in all Android SMR releases for the month of April, Samsung also includes 16 of its own fixes that are unique to the manufacturer's smartphones only. If you own a J7 (2016) in India, you should be prompted for the update anytime now.
The S7 and the S7 Edge has also started to receive the same Android SMR update but this report is apparently coming in from Europe instead of Asia. The OTA update includes the same fixes from Google and Samsung as the ones mentioned above. It might be a while though before you get to see the update pop up on your phone.
