Xiaomi is known mainly as the budget king of the smartphone world, but in an effort to outshine even the likes of the S7 Edge, today it has launched its most expensive smartphone in China. However, considering the beastly specifications that it boasts of, we would say it still is a budget device, if you consider the price-to-performance ratio. Just take a look at the specs unveiled today to get an idea about the proposition.
Display: 5.7-inch dual curved QHD display (Flexible OLED).
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 (2.35GHz)
Internal storage: 64GB/128GB
Primary camera: 22.56-megapixel Sony IMX sensor with EIS and f/2.0 aperture
Secondary camera: 8-megapixel
Even the staunchest of Samsung or Apple fans must admit that these are some impressive specs, at least on paper anyway. Once you consider the price, we are sure that you will find it even more interesting. The 4GB/64GB version is priced at CNY 2,799 ($410) and the 6GB/128GB version is available for CNY 3,499 ($515). The good news is that the 6GB/128GB variant will see international release, with global support for 37 LTE bands. We cannot wait to see how the Xiaomi Note 2 performs once it's released.

2015 is almost here, Samsung is preparing for its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S6. However, this year Samsung will be releasing two new flagships Smartphones. Latest reports indicates that the Korean Manufacture is preparing to release a smaller version of the Galaxy Note Edge, It will be called "Samsung Galaxy S Edge". The Galaxy S Edge is reported to have the same design as the Galaxy S6 but with a curved-display.
Instead of releasing a Prime variant which is like releasing the same device twice but with higher Specs, Samsung decided to change its strategy to provide a newer/better option with a new technology, Flexible Displays. The Galaxy S Edge will pack the same Specs and Design as the original Galaxy S6 but with curved display on the side. Rumored Specs for the Galaxy S6 include QHD display, Exynos 7420/Snapdragon 810 chipset, and 16MP or 20MP camera.
Both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge is expected to be announced on Early 2015 and to be released on the markets by Late Q1,2015 with Lollipop Pre-installed.
Samsung is preparing its upcoming 2015 flagship, Samsung Galaxy S6, that should be preview on the CES 2015 this week to some of its partners. Rumors and reports are already spreading about a Special Limited Edition of this flagship that packs a Curved display, to be called Galaxy S6 Edge.
According to an Asian Economies report, which cites industry insiders, the Galaxy S6 Edge will be limited to "10 million units Only", a figure which is hard to confirm at this point, but is definitely in line with earlier rumours that suggested the company is aiming to sell a total of around 45 million units of the flagship, including 10 million units of the Edge variant.
Specifications of the Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to be similar to the Galaxy S6 smartphone, which is said to feature a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display, an Exynos 7420 chipset with octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. In addition, the device is also expected to have a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper.
We all know that Samsung Galaxy S6 will be released this year (probably March-April). So far Samsung hasn't confirmed the launch of the SGS6, let alone that there's going to be a version of it with a curved edge to match the duality of the Note devices. This curved version will be named "Samsung Galaxy S Egde".
The source of the "S Edge" name is from a placeholder buried deep within the Vodafone.nl website, where Samsung Galaxy S Edge gets a mention.
Would Samsung drop the numbering from the name? Yes, it probably would. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge did exactly that and there's the feeling that the curved-edged devices are much more experimental than the mainstream numbered device, more distinctive in their own right.

First Leaked Photos that shows off Samsung's upcoming flagship Smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge. The images, provided by sources at a South Korean electronics distributor, purportedly show five variants of the electronics giant's new flagship smartphone, including an Edge-style version.
While the Galaxy S6 isn't expected to be formally announced until the Samsung Unpacked 2015 event held on March 1st, the rumour mill has been running overtime on what the world's largest smartphone maker might be offering in the new handset to revive its sluggish mobile-phone business.
The fifth phone shows that the bezel which looks metallic and quite thick of the visible edged side, unlike the Galaxy Note Edge, is protruding outwards. This seems to indicate that the fork-looking silver line shown in Samsung's recently sent invitation was the hint for the particular wraparound design of the Edge.
The physical home button is still very much alive, it seems, while the glimpse of the fifth phone shows that the front of the S6 will resemble its predecessors the S5, S4, and S3.
Sadly, These pages lack any images or information about the devices themselves, but it goes on to confirm that the dual-sided curved edge screen variant of the Galaxy S6 will be named as the Galaxy S6 Edge. We believe that SM-G920X and SM-G925X might actually refer to possible European variants of the devices the SM-G920F and the SM-G925F.
Both these devices are expected to be officially unveiled on March,1st during Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event in MWC 2015. In the most of the ads, Samsung brags about the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panels used on the Galaxy S6 edge and it might have a good reason for that.
Both the back and the dual-curved 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display have protected by Corning's latest. A Korean video demonstrated the true strength of the glass panels used in Galaxy S6 edge through a brutal drop test.
In the video, the woman first shows the display working normally and then slams the phone three times on the floor. The result was rather impressive with the phone sustaining next to no damage.
That's hardly a scientific approach to testing the toughness, but it should certainly give Galaxy S6 owners some extra piece of mind even if they do drop their new and expensive phone, chances are it won't mind too much.
Gold-plated smartphones are not something new, but it sure is luxury. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge join the company's collection of 24K gold plated smartphones. Note that both smartphones feature Corning Gorilla Glass 4 glass panels in the front and at the back. It's the metallic frame hugging the two panels that gets the gold treatment along with the metal rim around the camera module.
The Karalux shop claims that it takes 3 hours for the engineers to pass the Galaxy S6 through 10 different stages to have it finally 24K gold layered. Not only that, the phone also gets an additional nano layer to prevent the gold plaint from being corroded.
Getting a 24K gold Galaxy S6 will cost you $400 (VND 8 million) + the regular price starting $685. So the total will start from $1100.
Tesco was keen to mark the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with as much bang as possible and went all out sending a unit into space. Tied to a special space balloon, the smartphone is accompanied by a trio of GoPro cameras monitoring its every move.
Launched from an undisclosed location within UK's Peak District national park, the balloon soared 32.5km to the edge of space surviving 160km/h winds and temperatures as low as -57 degrees Celsius.
Watch the Live Stream below for the S6 Launch starting tomorrow at 11am UK time.
There'ss an element of competition to the whole event, and the person who tweets "DROP" and "#S6EdgeOfSpace" at the exact moment the balloon bursts will WIN a brand New Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, in Tesco's wording. Now, apparently, a different device will need to be shipped to the lucky winner, as we don't see this one making it back to planet Earth in one piece.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was the first Dual-edged curved smartphone on the market, the device's sales was higher than expected. Today, BBC reported that the Korean giant is struggling to meet the S6 Edge supply demand.
The reason of this shortage is that the curved screen of the Edge is very difficult to manufacture, it takes a long complicated process that leads on delays in the production line.
"Samsung will have a serious issue if the shortage is due to the difficulty of producing the curved screen. They [Samsung] must succeed in the launch of these new flagship phones to regain leadership in the high-end segment. They have a window of opportunity until the new iPhone comes out. The product and design is great - but [it] lacks service differentiation." - Mobile analyst, Thomas Husson at Forrester told the BBC
Back in March, Samsung released a report expects the sales of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to reach 55 Million by the end of the year. In April,10th the Korean giant released the device into markets worldwide.
Korean publication Yonhap News reports that until now, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge sales have been much higher than expected. Reportedly, an industry official declared that, in the last three days, sales in South Korea reached an all-time high compared to previous Galaxy S models from last year.
Interestingly, it's said that the Galaxy S6 edge (which is more expensive than the regular S6) accounts for about 50% of all sales. According to Yonhap News, a "high-ranking Samsung official" recently mentioned that the company "failed to make a precise prediction of demand" for the curved smartphone, that's why supply shortages may continue for more than a month.
Samsung sales for both flagships could reach higher than 60-70 Million units by the end this Year.
Now, a new report by the research firm IHS, shows that the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge 64 GB (Verizon model) costs around $290 to build. This means the handset is more expensive to make than any of Apple's latest iPhones (6, 6 PLUS), which can cost up to $263 (iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB) to manufacture. The S6 edge is obviously also more expensive to build than a Galaxy S5 ($256).
Unsurprisingly, the most expensive component inside the Galaxy S6 edge is the curved Quad HD display: at $85 per unit (you can buy a decent, complete smartphone for that kind of money), the unique, dual-curve screen accounts for 29% of the total cost of an S6 edge. The next most expensive part inside the S6 edge is the octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, which is manufactured by Samsung itself, and costs $29.50 to make.
A report came from CitiBank last month, predicts that Samsung is expected to sell over than 50 million Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units during 2015. Today, Samsung has officially announced that it is expecting sales of its latest devices to cross the 70 million mark.
"The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are drawing positive responses. I have no doubt that they will be the biggest-sellers in the Galaxy series ever, The S6 should do well. The first week looks impressive." - said Samsung's Vice Chairman Kwon Oh-hyun
We just will have to wait for the Q4,2015 report to see if Samsung's sales will achieve this number or not.

Samsung said nothing about an Iron Man edition of the Galaxy S6, which might mean that the curved S6 edge is the only one that's getting the superhero treatment.
Samsung published a New Video that sums up all the New and Best features of the Galaxy S6 Edge, which is the company's first device with a dual-curved display device.

The handset will see its release on November 5 in Singapore and should make its way to the rest of the world soon afterwards. Given that every other competitor will have a new phone in the market for the holiday season, only time will tell if just an additional color option will be enough to convince customers in favor of choosing Samsung over newer hardware from other manufacturers. The LG V20, the Moto Z and the Google Pixel XL are thought to be its greatest competitors, but there are other less popular brands out there too, who will take a shot at stealing Samsung's market share due to the void that the Note 7's untimely death has created.

This year Samsung decided to go with the company's Exynos 7420 processor for both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge instead of Snapdragon 810. As per the rumors floating around the internet, both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge might use Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor. Amid speculations, now the online community got hold of the model numbers of both of the devices.
According to this list, the Galaxy S7 (SM-G930) and S7 edge (SM-G935) will be released with either the Exynos or Snapdragon processor. This choice will be dependent on the market condition and wireless carriers. The devices featuring Snapdragon 820 are listed for China (SM-G9300, SM-G9350), Verizon (SM-G930V, SM-G935V), Sprint (SM-G930P, SM-G935P) and US Cellular (SM-G930R4, SM-G935R4). Please note that most probably these models will be used for CDMA carriers.
On the contrary the international unlocked models like T-Mobile (SM-G930T, SM-G935T), AT&T (SM-G930A, SM-G935A), Canada (SM-G930W8, SM-G935W8) and Korean variants (SM-G930 S/K/L, SM-G935 S/K/L) will be featuring Exynos 8 Octa 8890.
All of the information given above is not from any official source. So it is very difficult validate the authenticity right now. Although the model numbers generally follow the same pattern, we'll have sit tight and wait some more information to be completely sure about this.

If the video above is any indication of what is to come from Samsung later in 2016, then yes! However the video is not an official teaser from Samsung, but a concept video from Jermaine Smit. Keep in mind though, that the experienced concept artist has tried to make it as realistic as he possibly could with the hard facts and floating rumors around the upcoming flagship.
Unlike most other concept videos about popular upcoming phones, this one looks hyper real and one may even believe that it's official for a while. The similarity between the upcoming conceptual device and its current real-life counterpart are so striking with subtle differences, that it almost fools even the most gadget-savvy eyes.
The subtle changes that do differentiate the hypothetical galaxy S7 Edge from the actual Galaxy S6 Edge includes a USB Type-C port, a more rectangular home button and a big sensor/camera module on the top left side of the phone. The excellent quality of his work made us check out his profile on Behance and if you want to look at a few of the Dutch artist's other videos on popular upcoming smartphones, you can take a look as well.
As rumor has it, we are now less than two months away from the official release date (February 21st) for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. It is only natural that two of the biggest and most anticipated Android phones of 2016 will have a lot of buzz around them. Some of those "leaked reports" are expecting the Samsung flagships to be waterproof as well as have IP67 certified dustproof builds.
The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge were criticized by a lot of users for their weak batteries and Samsung seems to have heard those criticisms with diligence. According to Evan Blass or @evleaks, 3000 mAh and 3600 mAh will be the capacity of the non-removable batteries on the S7 and the S7 Edge respectively. He further states that the S7 will go from 0-100% charge in just 2 hours, while the S7 Edge will do the same in 2.2 hours.
It will excite customers around the world to know that the beloved and missed MicroSD card slot is rumoured to make a return with the Galaxy S7 series. Another speculation about the two prime Samsung smartphones of the future states the possibility of dual 12.2 megapixel Britecell camera sensors on the back of the phone with f/1.7 lens aperture. Although we are inclined to think that Samsung may opt for its in-house Exynos 8890 SoC over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, it isn't a fact yet.
Just recently, we were presented with a vivid render/blueprint of the upcoming Note 6 (or Note 7) and it showed us a lot of details about the next Note. However, it had silenced the rumor about the Note 6 featuring a curved Edge display as it showed no such design elements. If you are like us, then you would have preferred the Edge variant and we do have good news for you then. Another leak has surfaced just recently and it shows that the Note 6 WILL sport a Dual Edge display.
Considering that this render was leaked by @ShaiMizrachi, who has provided us with pretty accurate leaks till now, we are quite confident that this could be the real deal. The smartphone shown here is 7.8mm thick, 153mm long and 74.5mm wide. Well, apart from the volume rockers at the left and the power button on the right, that is about all the information that we can decipher from them. If this news got you excited, you will be more excited to know that another rumor has pitched the final unveiling date for the mysterious Samsung Galaxy Note on August 2.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition has just been revealed, along with an official unboxing video of the device by Samsung. We knew it was coming since they had already released a few teasers prior to the unveiling.
As made obvious by the name, the limited edition S7 Edge is a tribute to the game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Samsung partnered up with Warner Bros in bringing the superhero themed smartphone to the market on the third anniversary of the game. Although the game and the comics originally were based on multiple characters within the DC universe, the smartphone is primarily themed on Batman. There's a gold bat-sign on top of the box, as well as the back. Within the package, you will find a gold-plated batarang, a case cover that resembles the armor of Batman in the game and Samsung's own GearVR.
In the words of Younghee Lee, the Executive VP of Global Marketing, Samsung Mobiles, "We are excited to partner with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and offer a special edition of Galaxy S7 edge for fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us."
As expected, you will find the game pre-installed on the device, along with an Injustice theme. As of now, it has been announced only for Russia, China, Korea, Latin America, and Singapore. It will be released in the first half of June, but prices are not known yet.

Before we start informing you about the latest rumor, let us clarify that we still have no info on whether or not Samsung will actually skip the number "6" and move on to "7" with its next Note Device. There was a report earlier which stated that the Korean OEM feels that naming the upcoming Note as Galaxy Note 6 will make customers falsely believe that it's older than the recently released Galaxy S7-series. The authenticity of this report/rumor is still not established so keep an open mind!
Zauba, a site which tracks import details, has recently listed "Detailed Import Data" of a certain "sm n935." Considering the fact that the S7 Edge has the model number SM-G935, this could be the model number for the Note6/Note 7 Edge. The details are for a metal mask that's meant for the device in question.
This could mean that Samsung might even launch two versions of its upcoming flagship device, one with a regular flat panel and another more premium device with a curved panel. Of course, these are only speculations at worst and intelligent guesses at best. We will find out more as official announcements are made in the coming months.

India is the first country to receive the latest security patches for the month of August on the Galaxy S6 Edge and other countries should follow soon. The 63MB download will change your current firmware version to G925IDVS3EPH2 and will a security vulnerability on the device, that Samsung has termed as "critical." If you are thinking that this patches up the QuadRooter vulnerability that we have been hearing so much about, you would be wrong. To the best of our knowledge, QuadRooter only affects Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is powered by the Exynos 7420 SoC. Even if there is a connection, it was not mentioned in the changelog.
There are of course other general improvements in performance and optimizations, and if you want to go into the details, just consult the changelog while installing the update or check the screenshot above. Hopefully, the regular S6 will also be getting the same update, but we are not sure if or when it is coming. In the meanwhile, be wary of shady apps and always check the permission list before allowing the software access to your device.

We had reported back then that the Galaxy S7 Olympic Edition was coming and now it's finally here. You can own the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition for $50 more than what the unlocked regular Galaxy S7 Edge costs. This is the second limited edition series based on the S7 Edge that Samsung is releasing this year, after the Injustice: Gods Among Us Edition that we saw in May. Sadly, the Gear VR will not be bundled in along with the Olympic Edition, like it was with the Injustice version. The $850 package will include a custom pouch for carrying the sporty device around though!
As we had seen earlier, the entire theme is based on the five different colors of the Olympic rings and the rings themselves can be seen at the back of the smartphone. It has been made available exclusively in the US, China, Korea, Germany and Brazil. As the moniker "Limited Edition" suggests, only 2016 units will be made available for purchase in each of these countries.
