Want to check out the latest Android firmware for Samsung devices? We have just that for you below! Check this tutorial on how to flash ROM updates onto your Samsung device with Odin3 and you are good to go. Enjoy.
Only a few weeks ago, back in November 2019, OnePlus rolled out its first operating system update for its flagship smartphones OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The update included an upgrade of OS with several software-related features that improved the performance and gesture navigation system of the device. The device now supports full-screen gestures and other gestures including inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back and a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recently used apps.
OnePlus has a reputation for early OS update schedule as compared to other major smartphone manufacturers. However, the early doesn't mean the smooth transition. The last update rolled out for the OnePlus 7 and 7T were riddled with security issues and bugs, which were fixed later on with the help of security patches and minor fixes.
After this year's flagship, it was turn for the last year's flagship devices - OnePlus 6 and 6T from the year 2018. The first update was quick, but it also appeared to have some issues and bugs. The customers gave their feedback and OnePlus listened to it. The second update which was early in the December addressed some of these complaints on an urgency basis. The third update is an attempt to cover what was left unresolved in the second update.
Despite the bugs and fixes, the company's early and appropriate response shows how serious the company considers its consumers. In an industry, where not manufacturers take updates seriously, OnePlus is doing it. Even it is not ready to give on the one-year-old devices. Meanwhile, very old devices like OnePlus 3 and 3T got their last security update. Last year, the company stated, "As per the OnePlus software maintenance schedule, OnePlus 3 and 3T will be getting regular OTA updates till November of 2018 and 1 year of extended Android security patches. "
Here is the changelog for OnePlus 6 and 6T Updates:
• Updated system to Android 10
• Brand new UI for Android 10
• Fixed the automatic reboot issue
• Added the notch area display option in the Settings (Settings > Display > Notch display > Hide the notch area)
• Fixed the issue with lock screen appearing even after unlocking the device with the password
• Fixed the issue with Navigation bar after upgrade
• Fixed the Digital wellbeing option missing in the settings
• Updated Android security patch to 2019.11
• Full-Screen Gestures
• Added inward swipes from the left or right edge of the screen to go back
• Added a bottom navigation bar to allow switching left or right for recent apps
If you are the OnePlus 6 and 6T user and got a new update, let us know about the update in the comment sections below.
If you are a proud owner of Redmi Note 9 in India, you could be among the few Redmi users who will be getting Android 11 updates in India. The new update is limited to selected users initially, though it will reach all Redmi Note 9 series phones in the near future. Xiaomi released the phone early this year in March, alongside the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The smartphone originally came with the older version of Android this year out of the box. However, it has already received an update to MIUI 12 in September. This update brought up lots of changes to the user interface, including a refreshed interface.
According to the users getting the update, the latest Redmi Note 9 pro update is around 2.3GB in size and is based on a firmware version MIUI V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM. The official changelog doesn't offer any information on the changes this update might bring. However, it does show that the new software update can be downloaded through a stable channel.
How to get the latest Android update
If you haven't received the OTA update, you can initiate the process manually. First you need to check if you are among the users who are getting the update. You can check the status of the Android 11 update on your Redmi Note 9 pro by going to Settings > About phone. The new update installs the latest Android 11 operating system to your phone that Google launched earlier this year. However, this update doesn't come with any security patch released by Google.
The Redmi Note 9 series isn't a modern-day light weight phone. It has a large battery and display of 6.67-inch with full HD+ screen. The phone comes with a standard 60Hz panel and doesn't have a 90hz refresh rate like some recently launched phones, including the Realme 6. The company suggests that there isn't any app at the moment that is taking advantage of such a high refresh rate and it only consumes the battery life. The phone has Snapdragon 720G SoC that isn't powerful enough. Xiamoi sells the Redmi Note 9 pro in India at a starting price of Rs. 13,999. The phone is selling for three different configurations in india - GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage, and 4GBRAM/128GB storage.
Although we do not usually cover Xiaomi firmware, I have noticed that a large number of our readers also have shown some interest towards certain Specific Xiaomi devices. One of the most frustrating things about Xiaomi phones and tablets is the fact that the company often takes forever to update their smartphones and this year's Android Nougat wasn't an exception to that rule either. However, the good news is that thanks to GizmoChina, we have a list of Xiaomi devices today that will be getting the update to Android Nougat, albeit much later than expected.
List of smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer that will get updated to Android Nougat 7.0
Redmi 4X
Redmi Note 4X
Mi Max
Mi Note 2
Mi MIX

Mi 5s
Mi 5s Plus
Here's another much shorter list which consists of devices which will be receiving an upgrade to Android Nougat 7.1
Mi 6
Mi Max 2
Mi 5C
Redmi 4X
Strangely enough, the hugely popular Redmi Note 4 and the budget Redmi 4 are not included in this list! It would be interesting to see if they are included later on or if they get a direct upgrade to Android O.

If you own an older Microsoft smartphone that is still running on Windows 8.1, things are about to change as a Windows 10 update for your smartphone is probably on the way already. This is not beta, but a fully fledged final version of the upgrade that has been in the making for months. Although Microsoft has officially started rolling it out to its smartphones around the world, not all phones will be receiving the update at the same time. Also note that if your Windows phone was not manufactured by Microsoft (or Nokia) but some other company, there will be an additional delay.
Check if your phone is in the list mentioned below:
- Lumia 435
- Lumia 430
- Lumia 638 1GB
- Lumia 636 1GB
- Lumia 635 1GB
- Lumia 540
- Lumia 535
- Lumia 532
- Lumia 830
- Lumia 735
- Lumia 730
- Lumia 640XL
- Lumia 640
- Lumia 930
- Lumia 1520
- BLU Win HD w510u
- BLU Win HD LTE x150q
- MCJ Madosma Q501
If you found your model in the list above, then go to the Windows Store and download the application called Microsoft's Update Advisor. Use it to find out if your update is on the way and turn on the option Enable Windows 10 Upgrade. Select Next and it will prompt something like ready to upgrade. Once you see that prompt, tap on Done to finish the setup. You can now go to Settings>Phone Update>Check for Updates to see if the upgrade has arrived yet. When it does actually arrive, you will see the notification automatically now.
Users that chose AT&T as their carrier while buying the HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 were left a little disappointed in the fact that they had not yet received the Android M update on their smartphones. Given that Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint had already released the update for their respective versions of the two phones, the disappointment is understandable. However, this was expected as HTC had earlier made it public that Marshmallow will reach the M8 and the M9 on AT&T, later than their counterparts on other carriers.
Nonetheless, we have good news for you because Mo Versi (VP of Product Management, HTC) just confirmed on Twitter that both the smartphones will begin receiving the much awaited upgrade, starting today. Although the OTA update package won't reach every phone at the same instance, it is only a matter of time before it does reach all the HTC One M8 and One M9 handsets that are on AT&T. If you are impatient, check right now to see if the update has arrived on your smartphone yet by going to Settings >About device > Check for updates.

If you own a Galaxy Note Edge (unlocked) in Europe, the chances are that you will soon be notified about the much awaited Android M 6.0.1 update. According to Sam Mobile, the 1.4GB update will change your handset's firmware build number to N915FYXXU1DPE1, along with installing the SMR patches for May.
We also have good news for our readers in China because the Samsung Galaxy A9 just started receiving the upgrade to Marshmallow as well. The A9 is the first in Samsung's A-series to receive the update so far. After downloading and installing the file, you can check from settings to see the firmware version changed to A9000ZCU1BPE2 and the base Android version changed to 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Blackberry "Priv" may not have been a good name to be honest, but the manufacturer was certainly ahead of many greater and better names in the industry when it rolled out the Marshmallow update to the Priv before many. The latest update released is a humongous 1.8GB file that will upgrade the handset to Marshmallow beta. The STV100-1, STV100-3 and the STV100-4 models in the applicable geographical areas are eligible for the upgrade as of now.

Getting OTA updates out the door is no easy task, especially with carriers standing between the OEM and users. That's why Motorola has long used soak tests with small groups of users to hammer out out bugs before the final certification. HTC has just posted details of its own Preview program called "HTC Elevate" that does essentially the same thing.
The information was posted in HTC Elevate, which is HTC's private community where it works with users to promote its devices and services. Members of Elevate also get the occasional freebie for participating in the community.
HTC Elevate FAQ
Q. What do I need to do after completing the registration?
A. At this time, just sit back and relax. As soon as we are able to match you to an upcoming user trial, we will reach out to you directly.
Q. Will I need to sign an NDA?
A. If you are invited to participate in a user trial, you will be required to sign an NDA before starting.
Q. I have a friend/relative/co-worker who would be great for this program. Can I ask them to register?
A. At this time, we are only making this registration open to select groups, one which is Elevate US users. Please do not share the details of this program with anyone else at this time. When the program launches publicly in the future, you'll be more than welcome to invite them.
Q. Will I be using my own device or will one be provided during a user trial?
A. It depends on the user trial. In some cases, we will provide loaner devices and in other cases, you will use your own. This will be communicated up-front when we invite potential candidates.
Q. What happens if my device requires warranty services during the user trial?
A. Your device may encounter an issue which will require warranty service in such cases, please contact HTC Care for immediate attention. You may encounter problems going through your carrier due to the unofficial software loaded on your device.
Note: This is only for warranty service, that is, if the device has any physical damage you would need to file an insurance claim (if applicable).
Q. What if I want to leave the user trial before it ends?
A. If you choose to leave a user trial early and are using your own device, you will need to send your device in to HTC Care to have it flashed back to the latest commercial SW. If you are using a loaner device, you will just need to return the device (a prepaid shipping label will be provided).
Q. What type of user trials would be conducted? Would it just cover maintenance release (MR) or new products as well?
A. Most of the user trials will be of the software nature (i.e. MR updates and HTC app Play store updates) but there will also be user trials for hardware when we launch new products as well.
Q. How long does a user trial run?
A. This depends on the purpose of the user trial and again, this will be communicated up-front when we invite potential candidates. Generally, user trials last between 6 - 10 weeks, with some ending earlier and others getting extended beyond that.
Q. I have more questions about this program. Who can I contact?
A. Feel free to sound off in the thread below.
Please note that this is not the final list, other devices will be added later, Stay tuned and don't forget to follow our Samsung Official Updates Page for More Info. Please

Stating with the Google search app for Apple's mobile OS which is today getting an update to version 5.0.0, and one of the biggest new things is the addition of the Material Design language.
Additionally, there are a few new features in tow too. The Recents view shows you the pages you recently visited, the Google button lets you start a search with just one tap, and Google Maps 9.0 allows you to explore interactive maps, nearby places, and Street View right inside the search app.

Google is currently rolling-out a new Material Design Menu User Interface to the YouTube for Android. The change sees YouTube's hamburger menu removed right out of the interface, going the way of Google+ in discarding the left-side navigation drawer.
Google is slowly changing the Interface of the YouTube App to fit with other stocks apps on the Play Store. Instead, users are given four primary tabs Home, Trending, Subscriptions, and your profile. Interestingly, a couple of these tabs seem to have bars underneath to switch from, say, all videos to music on the home tab, or from uploads to channels on the subscription tab. Besides these changes, things are ostensibly working just like before.
In order to get the New look, you'll need to have the latest YouTube version, you can download the latest APK below if you don't want to wait for the update to hit your device via Play store.

series appreciation since its initial release in early 2019. The first devices in this lineup, the OPPO Reno and the Reno 10x Zoom. It featured unique and expressive design with a flush rear camera. It has a crazy pop-up swivel module that features both rear end and front-facing camera. This device doesn't require any kind of notch. This unique design continued to the Reno2 series, but discontinued the Reno3 and used more conventional-looking hole-punch display.
Oppo introduced a high refresh rate display (90Hz) and 65W super VOOC 2.0 charging with Oppo's first phone - Reno Ace. Now, the company is about to release the Reno Ace2. It was kind of announced from the official sources. The OPPO VP Brian Shen confirms that the company is indeed working on the OPPO Reno Ace2 on his Weibo account. Some leaks suggest that the phone has a single, hole-punch on the left side of the display. According to another rumor, the device will be capable to support 5G network connectivity. The phone features a circle rear camera mount something we have already seen in a few Chinese devices like the OnePlus 7T and Redmi K30 Pro. The leak images from TEENA shows a hole-punch camera that seems to particularly big one on the front side of the display.
The device is rumored to be powered by a 2.8GHz processor, likely the Snapdragon 865 and will be available in both 8GB and 12GB RAM variants. It will feature a 2400×1080, 20:9 AMOLED panel which measures at 6.5-inches diagonally. On the camera side, it will be sporting a 48MP main sensor with an additional 8MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors (it is not clear which sensors play which function), while the front-facing camera features a 16MP resolution. The device has a 1955mAh battery. The OPPO Reno Ace wasn't launched outside of China though, so it is still in doubt that the Reno Ace2 will.

One of the handset giants in the mobile phone market, Samsung, has left many users worried by announcing that it will discontinue its latest updates for one popular device, the A51 4G, from this month. This action has elicited diverse reactions among users and brought forward a discussion on the life support of manufacturers for their devices.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 4G has been awarded for being one of the best-selling mid-range handsets, and, unfortunately, its life cycle is ending in connection with related updates from Korea.
As a result of information from SamMobile, Samsung has decided to cease support across several devices, including the Galaxy A51 4G (unlocked), which will not receive any security updates permanently.
Every six months, both LTE and 5G variants received security updates. Nevertheless, beginning this month, only the 5G version will be supported by the brand. This is disappointing news to many users, especially those who depended on Samsung's durability and device support.
At the time, it became the first mid-range device from Samsung to get under its belt the latest version of Android and was even outdone by the brand's flagships. In early 2020, this gadget was launched with Android 10 and has since been updated to reach the final version of the operating system for such a model, Android 13, with One UI 5.
Although Galaxy A51 4G has been on sale for four years, its impact and popularity among users persist. Mobile device manufacturers support the policy issue of Samsung's cessation of updating this equipment. In a highly competitive market, users require high-quality devices and durability in support of manufacturers.
Samsung's decision is also an example that points to the need for companies' transparency on how long they would support their devices. Consumers expect to know the durations of their devices and the corresponding warranties that they will receive after purchase.
This decision by Samsung will affect numerous groups of consumers, most notably those who had trusted the brand because it promised durability and support for mobile devices.
To begin with, those who use the Samsung Galaxy A51 4G as their primary gadget will immediately feel some consequences of this action. The users opted to purchase the Samsung Galaxy A51 based on trust in this company and its product, expecting it would work for an acceptable time without security updates or other improvements. The discontinuation of updates will ensure that these users remain on the current version, making them vulnerable to security breaches and limiting their future user experience.
Moreover, consumers who appreciate the durability of their gadgets and long-term return on investment will also not be spared by this change. For many individuals, buying a mobile device is expensive; therefore, they expect their manufacturers to keep providing them with enough support for several years. The announcement from Samsung might make these users think twice about their loyalty to the brand and persuade them to switch to devices produced by manufacturers providing prolonged customer support.
People who care about the safety of their data and the protection of privacy will also be affected by this decision, as discontinuing security updates can make such users more vulnerable to cyberattacks towards malware, undermining integrity in storing one's personal information on a device.
In the meantime, users who use it professionally or for academic purposes will face more challenges. Incompatible applications and services could prevent essential tasks from being performed or necessary resources from being accessed due to no updates.
However, due to the quick advancements in software and technology within a short time frame of release, users may even be forced into making early purchase decisions on newer devices caused by security limitations or not fitting updated applications, among other reasons. This fact highlights that being careful when selecting a mobile device and requiring more specific information from manufacturers about the life periods of their products are extremely important.
The good news is that video game lovers do not worry. The update will not affect online games or their rewards. In other words, those who play casino games should not worry about receiving their casino rewards. Log in from your browser, download the application (which is not affected by the update) and enjoy it from your mobile.
Nevertheless, the end of Galaxy A51 4G updates puts a period to one of Samsung's most iconic mobile phone cycles. This event poses some difficult questions that must be faced regarding the direction of mobile device support in general and the suggestion of further information from manufacturers to consumers.

As always, Google has once again started to roll out OTA security updates for this month to its own brand of devices. In fact, the factory images and OTA zip files have also been made available for download since yesterday. You can always wait for the OTA update to arrive on your device, but if you are impatient and it has not arrived on your device yet, the factory images and the OTA zip files are there to be flashed, if you so wish. Carriers and OEM partners should also be in the process of preparing their own version of the October security update for their own respective devices, based on these files.
If you own a Nexus 6 or a Nexus 9 LTE, this security update will still be based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 instead of Android Nougat 7.0 unfortunately. It is unclear as to why Google isn't rolling out Nougat to the two aforementioned devices, in spite of them being eligible for the update, as per Google's own official declaration. Nevertheless, the update will bring all the necessary fixes and patches to all Google devices irrespective of the Android version that's running on the device.
Lollipop OTA updates to Google Nexus device has been delayed from November,3rd due to a Bug that Google has already fixed few days ago, so the update are ready and on the way. Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Updates will start Rolling-out on November,12th to Nexus devices.
Google will probably release the update to the I-Fi only devices first, like the Nexus 10, Nexus 7 and Nexus 2013. Other 3G/4G radio devices includes all Nexus Smartphones (Nexus 5, Nexus 4) and tablets with data connectivity will be update later this Month. Google is also expected to release the Lollipop images for all Nexus devices in the same day (Nov,12th).
Stay tuned for More Info!
HTC already released its official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop updates for the One M8 on many regions. Many other HTC users are still waiting for their turn to get the Lollipop update with Sense 6 and the little Material Design touch on the menus and Notification bar.
Well, YouMobile got the Full Lollipop Updates ETA (estimated time of arrival) schedule that includes all HTC devices that will get the official Lollipop update from the "HTC One" family and the "HTC Desire" family... Check the list below to see when you device will receive the update.
Officially, the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5 would be lucky to get even so much as a maintenance update, let alone a full-fledged upgrade to Android Nougat. That however, doesn't necessarily mean these two smartphones will never experience the latest and the greatest of what Android has to offer. If you want to experience Nougat 7.1 on your Galaxy S4, try out the Substratum ROM based on the AOSP firmware, compatible exclusively with the LTE version of the Galaxy S4 (I9505). You can expect features such as Battery optimization options, Advanced Reboot, Ambient Display, Smart Storage, Launcher Shortcuts, etc. from the custom ROM.
Flashing the AOSP ROM on the other hand, will upgrade your Galaxy S5 to Android 7.0 Nougat, provided that you have the G900F LTE variant. In fact, there's even an AOSPExtended version of the ROM for the Galaxy S5, that's based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Follow the links to go to the concerned pages and follow the provided instructions carefully. Remember that flashing these ROM packages will require for you to root your device and in doing so, your warranty will become void (if it still is active of course).

The long awaited Marshmallow update is finally on its way to the LG G3 smartphones that are under T-Mobile and AT&T contracts. This news was confirmed after several reports from users on the two networks started to come in. While this is indeed good news for T-Mobile users, the catch is that it cannot be downloaded over-the-air at this moment. In order to run Android M on T-Mobile's version of the LG G3, you will first need to connect it to a computer where LG's desktop client for smartphones is pre-installed. The entire upgrade process from there onwards must also be completed with the help of the desktop client.
AT&T's version of the G3 does not have any such bindings as users can download and install the update via OTA, which will change the software version to D85030k. Unfortunately, there is no telling when the update will arrive for your particular handset on either network. One detail that is curious about the package is that it updates the base OS to Android 6.0 instead of 6.0.1, which has been out since November, 2015. Security patches till March are included in the upgrade package, but it making you wonder about what happened to the security patch for April?
It is a bit disappointing to see leading companies still in the process of updating their high-end smartphones to Marshmallow, when Android N (Beta) is already being tested by Google. Then again, it's better late than never.
