Nexus 7 Rumored for an Upgrade

30 January, 2013 Asus

The Nexus 7 will be refreshed with a "full HD" 1080p display and thinner bezel, reports Digitimes. Expected to carry the same attractive $200-$250 price point as the current model, the tablet is said to be manufactured by Asus.

Rumors have recently reported that the Nexus 7 will be getting a "refresh" in the coming weeks, upgrading to a full HD 1080p display, and featuring a smaller, sleeker bezel around the edge. Digitimes reports that the tablet will still maintain its attractive price point around $200-$250 that the current model has used to fly off digital shelves since it released last year.

Sources with access to "engineering samples" have said that several specifications will also be changed around. It's not clear when the changes might be implemented, although mid-2013 is expected by industry analysts.

Some are looking to Google's I/O conference in May for more details on the device.
