Samsung Gobbling Up the Android Market

9 February, 2013 Samsung

A study by a company called "Localytics" shows that Android by Google is undoubtedly one very successful operating system and it represents a big bulk of the smartphone market. However, although Android has broken grounds and is quite popular among many, Google's bane is that most of the time, the Android OS is more associated with carriers, rather than them.

For example, Samsung creates awesome smartphones with Android OS that they are almost synonymous with Android, as one study says. If someone hears Samsung Galaxy, chances are that they will think it's an Android phone, despite the presence of Google's Nexus phone (which is also a good smartphone). Unfortunately, only real enthusiasts know the might of the Nexus over more popular "Android" phones.

This study just goes to show that Samsung has conquered the Android smartphone market. Somehow, Google gets bypassed in terms of the popularity of their products.

This is why many of Samsung's competitors that also offer Android smartphones should step up their games and improve their designs and features. In today's age, although Samsung holds much of the market for Android, it is not yet too late for HTC, LG, Sony and the others to revert their fortunes and get a bigger share of the market than they actually have.
