Samsung Galaxy Note 5 inherits the Grace UI from the Galaxy Note 7

26 November, 2016 Samsung Updates

While the Galaxy Note 7 ultimately turned out to be a blunder for Samsung, the phone itself was received quite well both for the hardware it sported, as well as for the feature-rich software that ran on it. Although the Note 7 isn't available anymore, Samsung has decided to bring the same Grace UI onto the Galaxy Note 5 from last year. As of now, the update is only being rolled out in South Korea, to the Korea Telecom versions of the handset.

Post the downloading and installation process, the firmware version should change to KKU2CP|1 and popular features seen on the Galaxy Note 7 like the Blue Light Filter or the Ultra Power Saving Mode should now also be available on the Note 5. Apart from bringing the Grace UI to the Galaxy Note 5, this update brings a lot of regular improvements in performance and bug fixes as well. The same update should make its way to other regions as well, but there has been no official word about it. Let's not forget that the Galaxy Note 5 in in line to get the latest and greatest of Android 7.0 Nougat from Samsung later on. Unfortunately, there's no date on that release either.
