HTC, the taiwanese mobile device maker is one of the competitors to the Apple iPhone, is going to launch their own version of Android OS tablet.

Smartphones, tablets and netbooks are set to be high on the agenda at this year's Consumer Electronics Show as traditional PC vendors look to compete with the new Apple iSlate which is due to be released on the 26th January in the USA. Among those set to take on Apple is HTC.

Among the vendors who are working on a touch tablet PC is HTC, who are confident that they have a product that will compete head on with the Apple offering.

We will just have to wait and see.

Remember the Android HTC Hero that appeared at the beginning of the month in some leaked pictures?

We already knew that it was coming to Orange, and now it looks like it will come to Orange only, as the carrier has reportedly won exclusivity over the smartphone - of course, we're talking about Europe here, because the handset could also be released in the US by T-Mobile, possibly under the name of T-Mobile G3.

The Hero will not be the only Android device to hit Orange this year. The giant mobile operator should also launch Android smartphones from Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Motorola.

AT&T powerpoints: Slides detailing the Palm Eos, a new HP iPaq and probably most thrilling, HTC Lancaster (aka the Android phone we've been waiting for).

I've always wondered what Android would be like on a Touch Pro, that's basically Lancaster. There is the dreary little note that "Initial Lab Entry dates were based on Google Mobile Services (GMS) UI, AT&T standard UI has been requested, which puts schedule in question" meaning AT&T could muck it up with their own UI, and take longer putting out the phone in the process. Its target date is Aug. 3, and it'll be AT&T-exclusive for six months it looks like. Update: Oops, didn't notice at first the screen resolution is a bit too squee for our tastes (240x320). Bummer.

AT&T's fall lineup is looking pretty unassailable at this point: With iPhone 3, a WebOS phone, and a solid Android piece, all of their bases are covered, with the exception of a touchscreen BlackBerry, but um, who really wants one of those now? Good thing AT&T's network blows, since the other carriers have their work cut out for them.

The handset will be T-Mobile's second exclusive Google Android device

Huawei will release the third Google Android phone - dubbed the G3 - on T-Mobile, some time after July 2009.

The low-cost device will have a five-megapixel camera, a 3mm headphone jack and Wi-Fi.

A Huawei spokeswoman said: ‘I can confirm that Huawei will be releasing the third Google phone on T-Mobile this year.'

The move will be T-Mobile's second exclusive Google Android device. The operator became the sole provider for the first Google phone - the HTC G1 - when it was released in October 2008.

Vodafone announced in February it had won exclusivity on Google Android's second phone, the HTC Magic.

The HTC Magic will be available from May
