A few months back, China acknowledged that it largely depends on Android for its mobile communications needs. It even expressed concern over the consistently growing influence of Google and Android in its society and by year end last year, it is home to approximately 224M Android users and the numbers just keep on growing.

By end of 2013, this number could easily reach 300M owing to the sale of lower-end devices that use Android as their operating system. According to Wandoujia, a staggering 86% of smartphones in China run on Android. This very little differentiation has initially made experts anxious about Google's impact on their system. Also, this anxiety stems from China's bitter relationship with Google. This just goes to show how universal Android is. It goes beyond boundaries and even its opponents recognize that it as a good platform.
