Enter SurfCube 3D for Windows Phone. Now we are not exactly sure whether or not Windows Phone supports alternative browsers in the Android style way of allowing new browsing engines or in the iOS style of allowing custom skins, but we really like what we sre seeing here.

A Video below demos the easy to use interface that is essentially a three dimensional cube, and best of all it actually renders websites that the stock Windows Phone web browser simply shows. In other words, they atre telling Facebook servers that this device is not a Windows Phone requesting a webpage to render, but instead an Android or iOS device.

Enterprising modders are seemingly one step closer to getting Windows Phone 7 devices to dual-boot with Android and other platforms, with Samsung Focus being coaxed into running an unofficial bootloader. The handiwork of DFT Cotulla, the hack currently allows the MAGLDR bootloader to run after the Focus original bootloader, with the eventual goal being a selection of official and unofficial ROMs to choose from.

One obvious possibility is that the aftermarket ROM community could get newer versions of Windows Phone running on the Focus, long after Samsung has given up support for the first-gen device. However, it is also likely that attentions will also turn to other popular mobile platforms, such as Android.

The holiday shopping season is about to start and there will be plenty of discounts on handsets. To sweeten the deal, Microsoft is also offering a 25 USD prepaid App card for every person who buys a new Windows Phone handset. The 25 USD card can be used to beef up your App library or grab that expensive navigation app you always wanted to buy.

To claim your App card, you have to purchase a Windows Phone handset between November 2, 2011 and December 31, 2011. Once you buy your phone, you have until February 14, 2012 to apply for your App card.

To celebrate the four new Windows Phones that are coming in the US for this yearr holiday season, the Redmond company has built an actual massive six-story-tall Windows Phone. And they have shot a cool time-lapse of putting it together.

The good news is that less hardware means cheaper devices and with Nokia aiming at entry level and mid-range devices for Mango this will make for cheaper handsets. Microsoft no longer requires the device to have a camera, compass, gyro, or front facing camera. That lack of a gyro might make gamers unhappy since it could affect motion sensing accuracy.

Standard hardware includes hardware controls for start, search, and back. The display needs to be a WVGA 800 x 480 unit and the screen must be a capacitive 4-point multi-touch. Mango devices must also support data via WiFi and cellular networks. Minimum RAM needs to be 256MB and storage has to be at least 8GB or more of flash. The smartphones must also have an accelerometer and A-GPS.
