Galaxy J8 Finally Gets Updated to Android 9 Pie in India

The Galaxy J6 was the first J-series smartphone in Samsung's lineup to receive the Android 9 Pie upgrade a few days ago in India, and now the Galaxy J8 has also joined the Pie club apparently. Given that the prime market for the entire J-series is India, the time difference between this release and the Russian release of the firmware, comes as a bit of a surprise nonetheless.

If you own a Galaxy J8, you should expect to see firmware version J810GDDU2BSD5/J810GODM2BSD5/J810GDDU2BSC6 make its way to your smartphone any time now (provided you are in India and had not received it already), but do hook your phone up to the Wi-Fi connection or the 1196.98MB update will be pretty heavy on your cellular data. The good news is that this particular version also contains the April Security Updates from Google and Samsung.
