Samsung Galaxy Note 6: Rumors, features and release dates

4 May, 2016 Samsung

Aside from various other rumors about the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 6, there is a more recent rumor going around that the upcoming phablet will be almost as powerful as a fully fledged laptop. This may actually turn out to be true but we will just have to wait and see how potent the Snapdragon 823 actually is or if it really is going to power the Note 6.

It would also be exciting to see if the USB Type-C port finally makes its appearance on the Samsung device or whether the Korean company sticks with the tried and tested older micro-USB ports. However, the next iteration of the Samsung Gear VR is rumored by SamMobile to be waterproof, dustproof and sport a USB Type-C port, so it would only make sense if the Note 6 also comes with the same USB technology.

One of the most interesting rumors by Android Geeks hint at an infrared-autofocus based camera with the same 12-megapixel sensor, optical image stabilization and f/1.7 aperture as the S7. Apparently, whether it will be used in the final device or not is yet to be decided. GizmoChina added an extra rumor to the mix, but this one is about an early release date. According to them, Samsung will do what they did it with the S7 and release the Note 6 in August before its expected release date. Some are of the opinion that the release may even happen as early as July, pitting it head to head against the iPhone 7.

The rumored specifications of the Galaxy Note 6 are well known to fans by now but just in case you are not familiar with them yet, here is what we know so far.
