Acer, who acquired E-Ten last year, is pretty easy to understand. Contrary to the Acer brand, E-Ten and Glofiish brands are virtually unknown in most parts of the world. So just slapping a new Acer label on it and putting DX900 into Acer's distribution channels might spur some sales of this pretty well specc'ed out smartphone.

Mobile Tech Addicts found the old good E-Ten Glofiish DX900 rebranded as Acer DX900 smartphone already available for pre-order on UK retailer's Clove Technology site.

All other things remain unchanged in Acer DX900, including dual SIM capability, 2.8" VGA touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3 mpx camera and Windows Mobile 6.1 OS.

LG Electronics (LGE) shipped over 100 million handsets in 2008, surpassing the amounts shipped by Motorola and Sony Ericsson, respectively, to capture, for the first time, third place in the global handset market, the South Korea-based JoongAng Daily quoted sources at LGE as indicating.

Motorola managed to ship 99.9 million handsets, while Sony Ericsson's 2008 ended with 96.6 million devices sold.

Securitas Safe-2-Go initially contains four services, Assist where you can, with the touch of a button, get connected to Securitas alarm central which has information about who is connecting, where this person is located and which people related to the person need to be contacted. Find, where you can get the current position on where friends are located. Zone, where you receive an SMS if someone leaves or comes into a predefined area, like a school or a home. And finally, Friends, which gives an overview of where all friends are located. Securitas Safe-2-Go will be launched commercially during the first half of 2009 in Sweden and be launched in other European countries later during 2009.
