The BlackBerry Browser's integration with the new Social Feeds application will make it easy to discover and subscribe to new RSS feeds within your favorite sites. Simply select the drop down menu beside the “Tabbed Browsing” icon, and you’ll find the “Subscribe to RSS Feed” option along with a few other useful options. Interestingly enough, the ability to add RSS feeds has long been an option in the BlackBerry Browser, but the feature was not as easy to use in previous versions. BlackBerry 6 makes it fun and easy to discover, add and read new feeds!

BB Market

Discussions have been heating up in the past week in the Middle East and some other parts of Asia about RIM's BlackBerry services and Every government request to have a power and control on RIM Servers or Make local ones inside the Middle-east and Give its control power to the government and that what RIM declined and Refused to do as she said "They won't risk losing More Blackberry users and their requests to use the service " and that threading the BB sales in Middle-East as people won't buy a phone they won't be able to use on their own countries as UAE, Indonesia and Egypt is Now Banning the BB services.

And today Saudi Arabia becomes the first country to act on that threat. BlackBerry services in the kingdom are now suspended, according to users.

The Saudi Telecommunications authority had given the country’s top three mobile phone providers the order to shut down BlackBerry messaging services or face fines of 1.3 million dollars.

As far as RIM is concerned, what's being asked from them here is simply impossible, as the communication between its customers and its servers is encrypted. And RIM doesn't have access to the on-device decryption keys on its users BlackBerry smartphones.

RIM had hardware demo units available at today's Torch product intro, and we got some time to get a first impression of both the hardware and the new OS. There's no doubt that RIM is hoping that the combination of the two will let it expand into the consumer space, where most of the smartphone action is these days. All the speakers from RIM repeatedly emphasized that the products are thoroughly touch-based and are multimedia powerhouses. But do those claims hold up to a casual hands-on??

Even with the emphasis on touch, the Torch is still obviously a BlackBerry. Slide out the keyboard, and if the virtual keyboard is visible onscreen, it will instantly vanish. If you like the BlackBerry's hardware keyboards, this one should keep you perfectly happy.

Otherwise, the hardware seemed good. The devices were both locked down and linked to chargers, so it was difficult to get a good sense of the Torch's weight, but it did seem light. The movement of the keyboard slider was solid and precise, and the screen looked excellent, even when viewing movie trailers. Overall, BlackBerry's extensive hardware experience showed in the details of the device.

Both RIM and AT&T have application stores for BlackBerry devices, and the demo units were loaded up with a variety of applications, including some games and a number of social networking apps. The BlackBerry app stores may not have the breadth of the iOS catalog, but a casual user will probably find something they like.

BBT Slider Mechanism

The CrackBerry crew have disassembled a Torch to see what makes it burn and produced some glamor shots of naked hardware for us to gawp at in the process. As you can see by the exploded shot of the phone above, most internals are either integrated or soldered down, but this undressing does afford us an opportunity to take a look at the biggest novelty in this new BlackBerry, namely its slider mechanism.

Research in Motion (RIM) announced yesterday, at a press conference in New York with operator AT&T, its latest BlackBerry "flagship" handset, the slider Torch 9800.

AT&T president and chief executive of mobility and consumer markets Ralph de la Vega claimed the new handset is the "best BlackBerry Ever!" in his own opinion.

The chrome Torch 9800 includes both a traditional slide out QWERTY keyboard as well as a touchscreen. Its name derives from Torch Mobile, the technology company RIM acquired last year.

The BlackBerry 6 operating system includes a browser to render web pages more quickly, a new-style home-screen layout as well as a number of new search, social networking and media tools.

Other features of the handset include a five-megapixel camera, a redesigned home screen, ‘pinch and zoom’ web functions and geo-tagging. The Torch 9800 also has 4GB of internal memory which can be increased with a micro SD card.

The device will be exclusive to AT&T in the US. It will arrive in the UK shortly afterwards, with Vodafone and Orange already confirming they will stock the device.
