facebook fee

If you thought Facebook advertising couldn't become any more irritating, think again. The world's largest social network is reportedly in the experimental/early testing stages of a new program that would allow users to bypass the default Facebook Messages spam folder when contacting people that they don't know. Currently, when a user or brand attempts to contact someone that they don't know, the messages they send are delivered to the recipient's "Other" folder in their Facebook Messages inbox.

In the updated Facebook Messages system, those users are given a new option. Rather than having their message fall into the user's "Other" folder a place that few ever want/remember to check with any regularity the group of Facebook users now have an option to spend $1 to have their message delivered straight to the recipient's inbox. And, from the sounds of things, it doesn't matter how high your privacy settings are.

For now, Facebook claims that the $1 fee to send messages straight to a user's inbox will be limited to a single usage each week, and brand's won't have the option of using the new feature just yet. The company also cited unidentified researchers' theories, claiming Facebook's $1 fee could cut down on the number of unwanted messages received each day, as justification for testing out the new program.

You may recall that Facebook purchased Instagram App for $1 Billion. However, Facebook did promise to keep Instagram as a separate entity and not fold it into Facebook proper, but that doesn't mean that there won't be some data sharing as time goes on. And, that time is coming pretty soon as Instagram has shown off its new privacy policy with does include sharing data with Facebook.

The change in the Instagram privacy policy comes after Facebook had made similar changes to allow for data-sharing between itself and Instagram. With the changes to Instagram's policy, Instagram will be able to "share user content and your information," including cookies, location data, device identifiers, and other information with Facebook-owned companies.

However, Instagram says on its Offiical blog that "nothing has changed about your photos' ownership or who can see them," which is great to hear given that Facebook's copyright claims on photos is overly broad.

This was one of the worst surprises as word had already leaked that Twitter would be offering the Instagram-like filters to photographs taken by its users. The eight filters include Black and White, Warm, Cool, Vintage, Cinematic, and Happy. Using grid or swiping views, the effect of each filter can be seen before applied to an image. Images can also be auto-enhanced and there is a new cropping tool.

Fox

Originally scheduled to start at 4:30pm Eastern, Fox has moved the start time for the baseball NLCS Game 6 telecast between the Giants & Cardinals to 7pm Eastern so that The Game will air entirely in Eastern/Central primetime (and compete against the Steelers/Bengals game, instead of primarily the Patriots/Jets game).

Because of that, the animated line up of The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and American Dad didn't aired last night. The most anticipated show was the Family Guy Season 11 episode 3 "The Old Man and the Big C" that was supposed to air yesterday Sunday Oct,21. Leaving many angry fans online.

Those episodes will presumably replace what was to be an all repeat animation Sunday later in the season with new episodes, but no word on what date that might be at this time.

facebook photo view

After the launch of timeline, Facebook has revamped the photos view in your profile, which will now show up as a mosaic of different sized photos that roughly resembles the Metro UI on the Windows 8 homescreen.

The new photos view also puts all your pictures in one location. If you want to highlight certain images, you can click on the image and select the Highlight option. It looks very similar to the way Google+ arranges images in its photos view.

Instagram

Instagram (a facebook Company) has grown tremendously after it arrived on Android, and now the photo manipulation and sharing service can brag about having 80 million active users who have shared around 4 billion photographs.

With Android devices covering virtually all price tiers in a huge number of countries, Instagram has also grown along to be a truly global brand. If you still haven't tried it out, Instagram is a neat little program that gives you a set of filters to make your photos look more vintage and cooler.

Recently, Facebook announced it's acquiring the app and as soon as the deal closes we expect the service to get tighter Facebook integration, and - who knows if those rumors about a Facebook phone turn out to be true, maybe an even wider following along.

Google+

The 1 years old Social Network "Google+" was a huge success to Google, Google decided to Update Google + with a New feature called "Events".

Google+ Events works before, during, and after a party, unlike other event organization toolkits, which "bail when you need them the most," said Vic Gundotra, senior vice president of social at Google. The feature is currently Rolling-out to all G+ users.

The main difference between Google+ Events and services like Evite is that the party doesn't stop on Google+ Events when the invitations go out. Gundotra highlighted a groundbreaking feature in the new social planner called "Party Mode." When you turn on Party Mode, all new photos taken by attendees who are on Google+ get added to the event's landing page in real time as a streaming feed that can also be viewed as a slideshow.

After the tables are cleared and the lights are turned out, Google+ Events organizes those photos chronologically.
