The new iPhone 12 hasn't been announced yet but we are expecting it really soon. That's just a rumor for now, but we might expect to see it in an event on October 13. The rumors suggest that there will be iPhone 12 max, iPhone 12 pro, and iPhone 12 pro max, with the entry-level iPhone 12 mini in the series. In such a case, you will have more choice than ever this year, especially with the iPhone SE that was launched in the beginning of this year. Apple's September 15 event focused on the Apple watch 6, iPad Air, a new iPad, and the Apple One subscription services.

Another report on the release date, which comes from "multiple suppliers in China", suggests that the iPhone 12 range won't be announced until late October, with the 4G models hitting stores shortly after, while the 5G iPhone 12 models won't go on sale until November. There are some clouds on the release date, but the most leaks suggest October 13 as the expected date.

We are expecting some big changes from Apple this year, including the 5G network support. With 5G networks rolling out in different regions of the world, the iPhone 12 will be more future-proof than its predecessor. The iPhone 12 series display will be starting from a tiny 5.4 inches to big 6.7 inches. The latest A14 Bionic processing chip will be another upgrade in power and will have a positive impact on the battery life too. For the price tag expect $649 / £700 / AU$1,200 or more.

A recent benchmark suggests that A14 Bionic single-core and multi-core performed better than the Snapdragon 865 that was used in almost all Android flagships in 2020. The overall score is also higher than the iPhone 11 pro max. That said, the scores are pretty good, and the iPhone 12 series is to be much faster than many existing flagship smartphones. The iPhone 12 series is also going to have a slight bump in the RAM area and might go from 4GB to 6GB though the standard phone might stick with 4GB. A few leaks suggest that iPhone 12 will not have a bigger number in battery and might rely on the processing chip for the speed. The phone will be using a lighting cable instead of USB-C.
