Android 4.1.0 Galaxy Nexus

Verizon has just finished pushing out the latest update for the Galaxy Nexus bringing up the firmware to version 4.1.0. The radio (baseband) version seems to be the main reason for the update which should, in theory, improve performance of the device. Also included was the addition of a new screen saver for Gnex.

This newest OTA signals we are nearing the end of Verizon vigorous testing for the device and Thats mean the Device is Ready to be released by 11,December.

Galaxy Nexus OTA

Google Has Release an OTA Update to The Samsung Galaxy Nexus volume bug to all Galaxy Nexus users.

The Galaxy Nexus is the first Android phone to arrive running Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Google mobile operating system. But its launch was hampered by a glitch that meant the phone volume would spontaneously drop, meaning calls would suddenly go silent and you would miss notifications.

This spooky glitch affected the phone when it was using over a 2G connection on the 900MHz frequency which makes the Galaxy Nexus Colume drop. You can go ahead now and Update your phone, Enjoy your ICS!

Galaxy Nexus

Google is supporting the modding community with their latest device and have just released the factory stock boot image for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with 4.0.1 ICS. For those that know what they are doing with modding Android this should be something you are very familiar with. It is nice to see Google dropping this for everyone so quick too.

For those new to the modding community. Now you can tweak, hack, and flash all sorts of different ROM or themes as you would like and as long as you do not completely kill your shiny new Galaxy Nexus this boot image from Google will take you completely back to factory out of the box state making your Galaxy Nexus shiny and new again with the Stock ICS ROM.

Except the code optimizations and the new features, below the creamy surface of Android 4.0.1 Google developers have had some fun. What the Android dev team did is add a screensaver, which displays the icons of all your applications flying towards you in a Star Wars-like manner.

The new screensaver feature is called "Dreams" and to activate it you have to dig a bit deeper in the OS itself, but it is not impossible as the video will demonstrate below. All you need is the homescreen replacement app LauncherPro and a minute of free time. The flying icons are not only kind of cool, but you tap on one, the corresponding application launches.
