Samsung is teasing a new 55" SMART TV that will be unveiled at CES 2013. The video is obscure as can be, but the company's Flickr account has several images of the revamped Smart TVs, which will be showcased at CES too, and are slightly more generous with the details.
The new Smart Hub promises easier to use interface and it will serve as a content platform the TVs will handle broadcast television as well as on-demand TV shows and movies, browse photos and support apps too.
That's all that the description of the Flickr images gives us, so it's not clear what will set the new TV models apart from the current ones.
This year (2012) was a very good year for Samsung, According to the latest reports, Samsung is expected to ship more than 350 Million Smartphone device worldwide during 2013, As for tablets Samsung is expected to ship 150 Million tablet device in 2013 too.
These numbers are said to be Samsung's own internal estimates for 2013 making it the No.1 top selling Smartphone Manufacturing in 2013 for the 2nd time with an impressive 40% of the global smartphone marketshare.
Samsung TecTile is a programmable NFC tags can perform lots of cool stuff when an NFC-enabled smartphone is in proximity, so one can launch apps, make a call, open website.. etc. Samsung released a new version of the TecTile mobile app, thus expanding the list of things you can do with TecTiles even further.
With Tectile app version 3.0, users can assign a string of actions to a single TecTile. That way one can have their Bluetooth radio turned on and navigation app launched when in the car, or the ringer volume turned down and the alarm clock app launched when it's bed time.
Another new feature, is to have one TecTile tab can perform different actions depending on whose smartphone is tapped on it. That would make it more convenient for multiple users to use the same TecTiles around their home or workplace. Moreover, TecTiles can now be set private, so that the actions being assigned with it are performed only on a specific device.
Finally, After the launch of the flexible AMOLED brand "YOUM" early this year, Samsung will bring the final-version of this flexible display technology to the CES 2013. At the event, Samsung will show us a 5.5-inch flexible smartphone display using YOUM technology along with a 55-inch OLED TV.
"Attendees (CES 2013) will get to see a 5.5-inch flexible screen intended for smartphone use, with a 1,280×720-pixel HD resolution and a 267 pixel density. In addition, the team will also show off a television-size 55-inch screen." - CNET Reports
Also, Samsung will reportedly introduce the same unbreakable flexible display technologies in future Galaxy models like the Galaxy S IV aka Galaxy S4 which will be launched during H1,2013.
