At the CES 2013 today, Acer announced a new 7" android tablet, called Acer Iconia B1-A71 and it will cost €119 after taxes. The Iconia B1-A71 will come with Jelly Bean 4.1 out of the box.

Acer Iconia B1-A71 has a 7″ display with WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600 pixels), a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek processor and 8GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity are also available as well as a front-facing camera and a standard microUSB port.


It is expected to hit Europe, the Middle East and Africa in mid-January.

The Transformer Pad is a bit hefty.  And there’s a $150 premium to buy the dock.  But it’s still the fastest and arguably best large Android tablet on the market today, a status which helps forgive its flaws.

The Transformer Infinity dethroned the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but it’s still a solid Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet and is a bit cheaper/sleeker than the Infinity, to boot.

One of Sony’s sole tablets, the Tablet S made the list on merits of pure quirkiness and "asymmetric" design.  Reviews were generally positive about typing on the tablet.  And Sony is offering unique PlayStation ports to differentiate its device.

 

 


Asus JB tablet

 


ASUS, manufacturer of the Nexus 7, will have two low-cost Android Jelly Bean tablets for Next year line-up, carrying the model codes ME371MG and ME172. These two tablets has been leaked and we've got the Photos and the Specs too. ASUS will reveal both tablets at the CES 2013.

 

ASUS ME172V

 

The low-end tablet ASUS ME172V, will have a 7" screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, built with TN tech rather than IPS. The tablet will reportedly be powered by a VIA WM8950 chipset, which packs a single Cortex-A9 core and Mali-400 GPU plus a gig of RAM. The storage is rumored to be 16GB and there will be a 1.3MP camera. The Asus ME172V will be available in black and white and it will supposedly be priced around €129-149 in Europe ($129-149 in the US).

The second tablet ASUS ME371MG, packs a better screen 7" IPS LCD of 1280 x 800-pixel resolution (same screen as the Nexus 7) and an Intel Atom CPU. The chipset included is the Z2420 with a single-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1GB of RAM. The tablet will also have 16GB of storage. On the connectivity side there's 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The ME371MG should have a 3MP camera judging by the photo that leaked on Picasa. The Asus ME371MG should have a price in the €199-250 range ($199-250 in the US).

Toshiba has unveiled a new 10-inch tablet, called the Excite 10 SE, aimed at the mid-range tablet market.


The Toshiba Excite SE is running Nvidia\'s Tegra 3 chipset, featuring four Cortex-A9 CPU cores and packs a 3 MP camera with HD recording, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It also allows for storage expansion with the microSD cards slot.
