A new year just started and Xiamoi seems to have big plans for the year ahead. The company is looking forward to launching more than ten 5G smartphones this year, and the new MI 10 series is expected to be released soon enough. Xiaomi has already confirmed that they are working on the MI 10 series, and references to the Xiaomi MI 10 and MI 10 Pro were found in the MIUI 11 v20.16 code base. The model numbers for MI 10 and MI 10 Pro are M2001J2C and M2001J1C respectively. Recently, there were rumors about the price and specs for the two 2020 Xiamoi premium smartphones on the internet and possibly we also got a hands-on look at the premium variant. The MI 10 and MI 10 Pro seems to differ in terms of battery capacity, memory, and camera setup.

In the last week of January, a Weibo tipster uploaded pics of what they called is the Xiaomi MI 10 Pro 5G. The images and packaging suggest that this could be the name of the smartphone, and the images show a few possible design details about the upcoming device. From the images, we can see that the device will have a curved display with a camera cutout on the left-hand side and a curved glass back panel. It also looks like the handset could feature a quad-rear camera featuring a 108MP primary lens and speaker grills at the top and bottom of the device. We can't quite make out whether the phone has an IR blaster, but we don't see a headphone port.

The picture only shows a mobile phone in one color - deep electric blue. But there would be other color variants that may we know about shortly. The Xiaomi MI 10 is believed to be more affordable than any other phone in the series. As per leaked specs, the MI 10 could feature a 6.5-inch 90Hz OLED display. Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the device will be one of the first smartphones to use the Snapdragon 865 silicon, meaning it will support dual-model 5G network connectivity. The Xiaomi MI 10 is also expected to have a quad-camera setup, with a Sony IMX686 sensor leading the pack. This is the same 64MP sensor featured on the Redmi K30. The other lenses are said to be including a 20MP lens, a 12MP telephoto sensor, a 5MP snapper, and hopefully a 30X digital zoom.

Xiaomi 10 Pro 5G

Xiaomi is expected to announce its next Mi series flagship smartphone by February or March at max. Even though we don\'t have a confirmed official date or specs but there are recent amount of leaks that keep popping up here and there. A recent leak suggests that the phone is going to be called Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G and will likely to be unveiled on Feb 11. Now, a reputable leaker Weibo (via FoneArena) has uploaded some interesting images of possible Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G, revealing few exciting details about specifications.

The images reveal the upcoming flagship smartphone with High-resolution branding of the company and it will have a quad-camera setup at the rear side of the phone. As per the tipster on the same website Weibo, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will feature a high-resolution camera lens up to 108MP for the primary camera, just like the Mi Note 10 that Xiaomi launched last year. The surfaced images of the Mi 10 Pro show a curved display with a hole-punch cutout for the front camera. There is a speaker grille at the top and bottom. As you can see from the images, there is no pop-up camera this time. We don\'t know from the images if the phone has an IR blaster or not, but we don\'t see any headphone port.

One of the images shows a 65W charger that means the Xiomi Mi 10 Pro 5G would be using the Oppo Reno Ace for the fast charging solution on Paper. There are no leaks about the battery size so far but we can assume that it could be around 3500mAh to 4000mAh. In the recent Snapdragon tech summit last month Xiamoi confirmed that the Mi 10 will be using the Snapdragon 865 chipset. So we can assume that the Mi 10 Pro 5G will be using the same chip. The images haven\'t been confirmed by official sources, so we can take these as another leak and wait for the day when it is finally released.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi teased a foldable smartphone prototype but since then we haven't heard much about the foldable phone, neither from the official source nor from there were any unofficial leaks. Maybe the company was simply waiting for the right time to unveil their foldable. Meanwhile, the company filed for a patent of a foldable phone. The patent has already been approved and made its way into the world intellectual property office database.

The internet magazine LetsGoDigital spotted the patent filed by the Xiaomi that shows a Moto Razr like clamshell foldable phone. The device has a large display panel which folds in half from the middle, protecting the screen as a result. This is unlike the previous double-fold design we have seen on Xiaomi foldable design. It is entirely different from Samsung or Huwaei which opens up in the middle to become a tablet.

However, unlike the Moto Razr, this new foldable smartphone patent has a visible pop-up camera for taking selfies. The front camera system includes a camera, a flash, and a sensor to detect the face. There is a separate camera system on the rear side with a tiny display above it. It has a sensor alongside the flash. The secondary display at the rear side looks to be dedicated screen for the notifications of messages, or emails when the phone is folded and closed. This will help to keep track of incoming calls and messages even without having to open the fold every time to see who is calling.

From the looks of it, the patented foldable phone does have a somewhere realistic design. However, companies file many patents and it doesn't necessarily mean Xiaomi will launch this phone. The company could just be covering its bases as far as foldable phones go, trying to find the right design it can eventually bring to the market. Apart from Xiaomi, Samsung is also working on a clamshell foldable phone design.

redmi k30

Since the technology has revolutionized the communication industry, we have witness some amazing innovations in mobile phones. The phones are bigger, faster, and smarter than ever before. But one area that most of the mobile phone manufacturers completely ignored is the charging ability. Thanks to companies like Oppo and Reno, we are getting fast charging now. Till now, the Oppo Reno Ace holds the title of the fastest charging smartphone with 65W charging ability. The phone can be fully charged from zero in just 30 minutes. Now, Redmi is here to compete with the Oppo Reno Ace with its 66W charging speed.

Redmi 5G phone with the model number M2001J1E/C has appeared on China's 3C telecommunications website. According to the specifications listed on the website, the phone will pack 66W charging speed that is higher than any other existing smartphone's charging ability. Xiamoi is expected to launch Redmi K30 series phone with 5G network support next month. This would be another milestone towards the fast charging improvements this year.

Earlier this year, Xiamoi claimed to test 100W charging that is good enough to fully charge a 4000mAh battery in just 17 minutes. Oppo, later on, claimed that it is working on a 120W charging solution that could fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 13 minutes. Sounds exciting. Right? But these are just claims and we have no evidence that it is going to work. As fast charging can cause the phone to over-heat and so far, no one has achieved more than 65W fast charging ability.

note 108mp

Xiaomi has officially announced that the company will launch the world's first 108MP with five cameras at the rear side. One of those cameras will be a periscope lens capable of 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 50x digital zoom. The company has also released a video teasing the phone's zooming capabilities in action. It shows Mi Note 10 mounted on a tripod on one side of the road while on the other side of the road, 5 meters away, is an eye chart.

Xiamoi Mi Note 10 features a glossy finish with jade green color. It will feature the world's first fice camera system. The main sensor sport a 108MP Samsung ISOcELL bright HMX sensor. There will be also a 20Mp ultra-wide-angle, a 12MP portrait camera, and 1.5cm camera for macro-level photography. According to the leaked images, it shows a curved display, a waterdrop notch, and a hint at a tall aspect ratio. For the front camera, it uses a 32MP camera lens.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with 6GB RAM. The device has a large 6.47-inch screen and powered by 5170mAh battery. The company also teased its first smartwatch which is due to be launched on November 5 in an event. The launching event may also have Mi TV 5 series. The watch looks similar to Apple's watch from the design perspective. But we don't know the other features yet.
