One of the major advantages to using the new format is the way that responses become interactive. For example, if you're converting 10 meters to miles and you want to see how many miles in 14 meters, simply tap on the "card" and the full unit converter will appear.

Google Now

For a while, Google Now was an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Only app, then it was hacked to work partially, then in full on Ice Cream Sandwich devices, and now it looks like it has been hacked for use on any ARMv7 device, which is a pretty lengthy list.

As always, the news comes from those wonderful lads over at XDA Developers, specifically it looks like Mikeyxda's M6 is the best option out there.

According to the post, you should be good to go as long as you have a rooted device with ClockworkMod Recovery, and an ARMv7 processor, which includes most Archos tablets, the Asus Transformer series tablets, and many of the premier handsets from HTC, Motorola, and Samsung going back a couple years.

Google Fiber + TV

Yesterday, was a big day in Kansas City, as Google introduced "Google Fiber + TV", and their 1000MB/sec broadband internet service that also offers a monthly HD TV service that will compete with cable and satellite providers. While this in and of itself won't have a direct impact on mobile users the services being offered promise to increase the utility of smartphones and tablets within your household.

fiber

Perhaps the most obvious impact will be the ability of the TV service to drive the adoption of tablets even further; subscribers will get a Nexus 7 tablet included in their package, allowing the device to be used both as a remote and as a way to view TV. Phone will also be able to act as either remote controls or as viewing devices. With the ability to store up to 500 hours of recorded content and simultaneously record up to Eight 1080p video streams at once, there will be little to stop every member of a household from consuming the content they want whenever they want it.

1000Mb/S

Whether Google Fiber + TV itself catches on, or even if it merely inspires other broadband carriers to up their game, it could transform the role that our phones and tablets play in our daily lives, and also make home automation via mobile devices even more intuitive as we naturally get used to controlling everything from tablets and phones. It could also help make tablet computing even more ubiquitous, which would be an impressive feat, considering that tablet computers are currently on a trajectory to replace smartphones as the most rapidly adopted technology in history.

Android Chrome Os

A patent filed for in 2010 and recently granted to Google suggests one hardware concept they might be considering to pull it off. The patent covers numerous ways to design a hybrid tablet and notebook that would feature a touch-sensitive virtual keyboard and touchpad on a second screen.

The device could shift between tablet and notebook mode easily. This Google device may also the first to be merging Chrome OS with Android. Here is Google Official Patent Statement:

"The computing device could also be configured to operate based on one or more platforms (e.g., one or more similar or different platforms) that could include one or more types of hardware, software, firmware, operating systems and runtime libraries."

What other two operating systems do you think Google would want to put on a device? For over two years now Google has been working on hybrid hardware that can also run hybrid software, allowing the same machine to run different firmware operating systems.
