To say that the currently raging trial between Apple and Samsung has been a revelation would be a massive understatement. The latest bit of juicy information got submitted as evidence yesterday, revealing that Apple offered Samsung the rights to license its patent portfolio for the amount of $30 per smartphone and $40 per tablet back in October, 2010. According to the submitted presentation from Apple, the amount which Samsung owed for 2010 alone was in the vicinity of $250 million. It included revenue not only from sales of Android devices, but Bada OS, Windows Phone and Symbian ones as well.
As most of you likely remember, this was the time when both the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S were released. The latter had shocked Apple's executives with its resemblance to their own company's offering. According to the testimony of Apple's patent licensing director Boris Teksler: "We didn't understand how a trusted partner would build a copycat product like that."

In line with a fresh report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claiming that Apple will be updating the iPod touch later this year with an "all-new" design using the same in-cell touch display technology rumored to be used in the next iPhone, Japanese blog Macotakara reports that Apple will also be moving the iPod touch to a 4-inch display from the current 3.5-inch display. The New iPod will launch with the Next-Gen iPhone aka iPhone 5 by October.
According to an Asian source:
"The New iPod touch (5th generation) will have 4 inch LCD which is the same size with coming iPhone 5.
CPU or other spec is considered to be same with iPhone 4S, and has different back-case design, which will be not mirror polished but buffed alminum one. And it seems to be prepared black and white color model."

Rumors around Apple's iPad mini is raising again as the company i expected to announce a 7-inch tablet alters this year and it might be called "iPad mini". Gizmodo got some photos showing what iPad mini may look like!
Here is a series of iPad mini renders. Of course, designer took into account the rumored diagonal size of its display, namely 7.85 inches, and retained the current model's aspect ratio of 4:3. The original's industrial, minimalist design has also been left unchanged, and the rumored mini dock connector has been used in his concept drawings.

11:26AM Looks like that's it! Lots of questions still linger, if you ask us.
11:26AM "Okay so I think this is it. Has that helped? I wish we could have done it sooner, but then you wouldn't have had anything to write about."
11:25AM Q: Will the bumper offer extend outside of the US?
A: Yes.
Q: And beyond September 30th?
A: We'll evaluate.
11:24AM Q: You've been communicating with customers through email quite a bit -- how is that impacting how you're dealing with these issues.
Steve: I always have, and you know, the address is out there and I've always emailed people back. I try to reply to some of them because they're our customers. But now people post them to the web... and some people just make things up. So don't believe everything you read!
11:22AM Q: Well you fixed this bug two years ago, and now you say there's always been a problem...
A: They're probably unrelated. I honestly don't remember what the issue was before, but they're probably totally separate.
11:15AM Q: What kind of impact do you think this will have on sales?
Tim: We'll hold financial stuff for our Q2 results call next week.
11:13AM To be clear, Jobs was not happy with our question. "You guys talk to each other a lot."
11:12AM We asked if there was possibility of a software fix... based on the NYT article stating an inside source claimed there could be a fix of that type coming.
Steve had a long answer largely dismissing the question. Then Scott Forstall asked for a mic, and he said that the statement in the Times was "patently false."
11:08AM Q: Was a recall ever up for discussion?
Steve: We get email from people all over the world about issues. We're really serious about this. We try to figure this out. We come out to their places with test equipment, we want to see logs. We try to get the info and figure it out...
Bob: For the record, we told them we were coming first.
Steve: And we didn't break down any doors.
Big laughs for that one, on stage at least!
11:06AM Steve: But not everyone is seeing this -- a small number encounter it. For those customers we'll get them a case, and if that doesn't work, we'll get them a full refund. And we'll continue to work on antennas that don't have this problem. But I think we're where the rest of industry is right now.
11:04AM Q: Is there a hardware redesign in this generation that could fix this problem?
A: You can go on the web and look at pictures of Nokia phones that ship with stickers on the back that say "don't touch here" -- you can go on YouTube and see these. We should you three phones today, all good phones. So right now the state of the art of the entire industry is that no one has solved this problem. Would I like Apple to be first? Yes. Can we make it better right now? Maybe, we'll see.
11:03AM Q: Would you have done anything differently knowing what you know now?
Steve: Well, of course the Consumer Reports stuff was bad, and of course we would have liked to get on this sooner. We just got this data. We just learned what was going on. We're an engineering company. We think like engineers. We love it, we think it's the right way to solve real problems. I don't think that's going to change, and the way we love our customers isn't going to change. Maybe it's human nature -- when you're doing well, people want to tear you down. I see it happening with Google, people trying to tear them down. And I don't understand it... what would you prefer? That we were a korean company, that we were here in America leading the world with these products... maybe it's just that people want to get eyeballs on their sites. We've been around for 34 years... haven't we earned the credibility and the trust of the press? I think we have that from our users. I didn't see it exhibited by some of the press as this was blown so far out of proportion. I'm not saying we didn't make a mistake -- we didn't know that it would have these issues, we didn't know we were putting a bull's eye on the phone... but this has been so overblown. But to see how we could do better is going to take some time.
10:58AM John Gruber: Do any of you use the cases? I don't.
Steve: Well I don't. And I get better reception, I hold it like this [death grip] and never see problems.
10:52AM Q: Is there anything you could have said in the launch keynote to lower expectations?
Steve: (Long answer) Not really. We could have said "hey if you hold the phone in this certain way you might see some signal attenuation..." We're human. We make mistakes, and we figure it out fast. That's why we have the best and most loyal customers in the world.
10:51AM Apparently we missed that Jobs called that Bloomberg report mentioned earlier "total bullshit." Pretty strong...
10:36AM "We do this because we love our users, and if we screw up, we pick ourselves up and we try harder. And when we succeed, they reward us by staying our users. We take this really personally. Maybe we should have a wall of PR people keeping us away from this stuff, but we don't, we take it really personally. So we've worked the last 22 days on this trying to solve the problem. And we think we've gotten to the heart of the problem."
10:33AM "Also on July 30th, we're going to bring the iPhone to 17 more countries, with the omission of South Korea. So that's the update on iPhone 4."
10:32AM "So I have some other updates. We're tracking some problems with the proximity sensor and we're working on it. White iPhone, we're going to start shipping at the end of the month."
10:31AM "And if you're not happy, you can bring the phone back. We'll give you a full refund within 30 days. No restocking fee. We want to make everyone happy, and if we can't make you happy we'll give you a full refund."
10:30AM "We're going to send you a free case. We can't make enough bumpers. No way we can make enough in the quarter. So we're going to source some cases and give you a choice."
According to Apple component suppliers, the completed iPad 2 will be shipped in February, 2010 for an April, 2010 release. Apple primary manufacturer, Foxconn, has been told to prepare 400,000 to 600,000 units over the next couple months.
DigiTimes says that Apple had originally planned for a January release, but firmware fixes have pushed it back. That would place the iPad 2 launch at exactly one year after the first iPad. Maybe we can count on April being the official iPad release month, as are June and July for the iPhone.
Previously reported that the new iPad would add five exciting new features: video calling, an improved display, a USB port, a 3-axis gyroscope, and better mobility. After the inclusion of the front-facing camera on the iPhone 4, and many other brands devices, the dual-camera design is a must.
The iPad 2 is expected to be a dual-mode device, functioning on both CDMA and GSM networks. The current model is GSM-only, and therefore requires a hotspot when connecting to CDMA networks like Verizon. A dual-mode device would not only make the iPad world-capable, but also simpler to produce and distribute.
In the Samsung-Apple Case, Apple presented judge, Lucy Koh (photo above), with a 75 page briefing covering a more than 20 potential rebuttal witnesses. Judge Koh was not amused. She responded in total shock that Apple would even pretend that such a large witness list could be called in their remaining time:
"I mean come on. 75 pages! 75 pages! You want me to do an order on 75 pages" Koh said, "Unless you're smoking crack, you know these witnesses aren't going to be called when you have less than four hours!"
While Apple's lawyer dead-panned "You're honor, I can assure you, I'm not smoking crack," they may want to reconsider their strategy.

Summer Offers is starting, Target is now selling the 16 GB version of the iPhone 4S for $149.99 on contract now, and Best Buy is starting to promote their discounted iPhone 4, which they are offering for $50 on contract. Of course once the new iPhone starts shipping those deals won't seem to keen anymore, as Apple's usual pricing strategy suggests that the iPhone 4 would drop down to free on contract and the iPhone 4S would drop down to $99, although it will most likely be the 8 GB model.
Discounting of iPhone models is starting significantly earlier this year than in past years. it's not clear if that's because retailers have learned from past releases that they need more time to clear out stock, or if Apple is actually encouraging this to help stave off Android's rapidly growing market share as sales of the current iPhone slow down. Regardless of what the reasoning, the real cautionary note here is that renewing your contract now to take advantage of those deals means you will already be locked in in another month or so when Apple's shiny new iDevice is released.

Good Question is this the Upcoming iPhone5 leaked on a video ? is it a protot-type ? Well, The Answer is NO, its FAKE! see the video below and you will see its faked very carefully to make us beilve its a leaked protoype.
All evidence leads to this video being a fake. We noticed that when launching the two apps (Safari and a game) the guy never lifts his thumb off the icon and iOS does not work that way. The game level also starts without anyone touching the Touch To Start button. Then the dates on the lockscreen and on the homescreen do not match up. The guy also does not show the phone all around and even makes a point of hiding the home button the whole time.

Apple is in hot war over intellectual rights with Samsung but its dependance on the Korean hardware giant production is just going to grow in 2012. While in 2011 Apple spent nearly $7.8 billion on Samsung-made parts but in 2012, this number will grow further to $11 billion.
"The amount of the current contract is around $9.7 billion, butis expected to rise to $11 billion by the end of this year as Apple is planning to release a smaller iPad, probably with a 7.85-inch screen, and to sell more of its MacBook Air PCs using Samsung faster solid state drive storage," said Samsung executive told The Korea Times speaking on the condition of confidentiality.
Now, while the focus of the executive message the fact that Apple will spend more on Samsung parts, having a confirmation of the real possibility for a 7.85-inch iPad (iPad mini) from a Samsung official is probably even bigger news.
Apple has been forced to remove some of its 3G products from the German online stores. This includes the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 and the 3G version of the iPad 2.
The products are only being pulled from Apple online store in Germany and the brick and mortar stores will still have them in stock. This is because Motorola only sued the German subsidiary of Apple, which is only in charge of handling the online side of the sales.
However, Apple has won a temporary suspension, which means it can go back to selling the previously pulled products on its online store for now. We are not sure what their next step will be but will keep you informed.
Well, We have plenty of rumors for the Apple Next-gen iPad aka iPad 3 already, but can we confirm any of them? Well yes, The Most Expected feature for the iPad 3 is the Retina display for its 9.7-inch screen, It will need to have very High-resolution to match the pixel density about 2048 x 1536 (even Higher than HD 1920 x 1080).
This feature will surely boost the iPad 3 sales and Apple will concentrate on this Feature on all the upcoming iPad 3 commercials.
If you take a look on the leaked photo of some iPad 3 components (Photo above). In this photo you will find a three wide ribbon cables as opposed to the two that the previous models had. This extra cable is more than likely in place to carry additional screen-data to the high resolution display. If the iPad 3 carry a Retina display at the massive 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution, the data transfer of three cables will be needed for sure.
Some reliable sources have discovered quad-core processor support into the iOS 5.1 beta code. So, we could expect quad-core iPhones and iPads in the near future. It is good to know Apple is already working on the next big hardware jump.
A few months ago other skilful developers discovered the "iPhone5,1" reference into the first iOS 5.1 beta code. It might turn out Apple is indeed gearing the next iPhone with a quad-core A6 chip.
Apple faces a 1.88M lawsuit over purportedly illegal ebook downloads for iOS devices, with nine well-known Chinese writers filing a case in Beijing over unofficial copies of their works uploaded to Apple store. The 11.91 million yuan suit describes the situation as "total theft", the People Daily reports, with the authors ire raised by Apple 30-percent cut on paid downloads that means the Cupertino firm is actually profiting from the unofficial versions.
According to the writers, attempts to have Apple abide by Chinese laws for copyright certification have been rebuked, and some of the copied texts have been downloaded several million times. 37 works in particular are named in the case, with authors including Han Han, Li Chengpeng and Murong Xuecun, all well-known in China.
Seven days from now Apple will be hosting an event in New York City at the Guggenheim Museum where they willl be holding an "education announcement", which we can only assume will be their entrance into the textbook market (New iPad ?)
When Apple launched the iPad two years ago, they also unveiled iBooks, which to be honest has not been as much as a success as they probably thought it would be Amazon dominates the eBook market. But what if Apple could start getting schools to buy their iPads in bulk and get teachers to tie their course material into iBooks? That changes the game completely. Plus you can only imagine how eager Apple would be to sell schools several thousand iPads at a time, with insurance thrown on top.
Apple released iOS 5.1 Beta 2 on December 12 with Build number 9B5127a. The current beta now uses build number 9B5141a.
iOS 5.1 beta 3 restores a sought after feature by many users, Enable 3G. The Enable 3G toggle allows users to completely shut off their cellular data, something that is currently unavailable. iOS users who use WiFi at work and home, experience heavy battery loss due to the fact that 3G and WiFi are running simultaneously. With this new feature, users can simply switch off 3G and use WiFi and can switch on WiFi just as easily. Apple noted under the toggle feature, that "3G offers faster data speeds but uses more battery power than EDGE".
The much-anticipated release of the iPhone 4S in China stumbled out of the gate in Beijing, after unruly crowds kept the store closed on release day.
Apple main store in the Sanlitun district of Beijing, the first of its kind to open in the country, was pelted with eggs and minor scuffles broke out after an unidentified store representative announced that the store would not be opening.
Apple will hold an iPad 3 launch event in early February, according to new rumors, where the third-gen tablet expected to debut a 9.7-inch Retina Display will be shown off for the first time. The press event next month, so Macotakara Asian supply chain sources and "a source in the United States" claim, will precede the commercial launch of the new iPad in early March. Meanwhile, there are also indications that Apple will keep the existing iPad 2 on sale alongside its new model.
Speculation around Apple events is rife, of course, while given the company track record in iPad announcements it would not be hard to guesstimate a debut date. The original iPad was revealed in January 2010, while the iPad 2 was first shown off officially at an event on March 2 2011, and previous rumors have indicated a Q1 launch for the third-gen model.
It is now possible to perform an untethered jailbreak on an iPhone or iPad with the A5 chipset, as long as you are running firmware 5.0.1 and below.

A high-ranking source with a major electronics retailer has told TechnoBuffalo to expect the long-rumored Apple TV set this April, or possibly May at the latest. Speaking on conditions of anonymity, the source said they have seen "gorgeous, very thin" pre-production versions of the set in person, and that they employ OLED panels at various sizes up to 42-inches. If true, Apple set will debut as the largest OLED based HDTV on the consumer market. LG and Samsung debuted 55-inch OLED sets at CES earlier this month, but neither is set to launch as soon as April.
While there is no info if the set will be running its own version of iOS, we do know that will have deep integration with devices based on the popular operating system. The set will also sport Siri style voice controls as well as facial recognition software, and plans for the TV voice control system are said to far exceed what's currently in use on the iPhone 4S.

Apple CEO Tim Cook outrage at allegations the company knowingly overlooked labor mistreatment among its suppliers may have satisfied some, but that has not stopped an online petition of near 150,000 Apple fans demanding the company take further steps in protecting workers. Accruing nearly 150,000 signatures within 48 hours, the campaign was started by Mark Shields on Change.org and demands greater transparency on suppliers found to have committed rights violations.
It also suggests that "Apple release a worker protection strategy for new product releases, which are the instances when injuries and suicides typically spike because of the incredible pressure to meet quotas timed to releases."
"Here is the thing: you are Apple. You are supposed to think different. I want to continue to use and love the products you make, because they are changing the world, and have already changed my life" Shields wrote. "But I also want to know that when I buy products from you, it is not at the cost of horrible human suffering."
Apple turned up the heat on Samsung in Australia when it expanded its patent and trademark lawsuit to include 278 new infringement claims covering 22 patents and ten devices (some of them unreleased). This is a significant increase from the original lawsuit which targeted only the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and included with a handful of patent infringement claims. If the court grants Apple an injunction based on these new claims, it potentially could prevent Samsung from selling any Android device in the land down under.
Samsung and Apple are embroiled in a heated legal battle that began in August of 2011.
Apple refusal to put its Siri voice control system on the iPhone 4 is not a shameless play to persuade users to upgrade to the 4S, it is suggested, but a limitation of the Apple A5 chip found inside the newest iOS smartphone. The A5, Linley Group analyst Linley Gwennap says, was always too large simply to accommodate two Cortex A9 CPUs and a GPU, CNET reports; the extra bulk is to house an on-chip noise-reduction system sourced from specialists Audience, which revealed its deal with Apple last month.
"Apple has integrated our processor IP in certain of its mobile phones" Audience confirmed in its IPO documentation last month. Based on the company EarSmart technology, it allows phones to use effective background noise cancellation even when the microphone is held at arm reach, rather than when it is near the user mouth.
Audience does not detail its "custom processor for Apple" but the volume inclusion timescale Q4 of 2011 fits in with the launch of the iPhone 4S. EarSmart models the human brain, using two microphones and custom DSP to filter out background sound.

China Daily reports that Proview Shenzhen Technology, a Chinese company based in the city Shenzhen, has pointed the finger at Apple over the iPad.
"We ask the court to stop selling and marketing for Apple iPad in China. We also demand an apology," Proview Technology attorney Xie Xianghui told China Daily.
Both companies claim "iPad" as a trademark, but Proview Shenzhen Technology says it has held the trademark since 2000 or 2001 and is asking for a cessation of iPad sales in China due to patent infringement as well as a fine for damages.
The case is set to come before a district court in Shanghai this month. A similar suit in Beijing is asking for a fine of around $38 million, or 240 million yuan. Late last year, Apple lost a suit wherein it claimed patent infringement on the Chinese company part.
Lately, Apple has warned app developers not to manipulate their rankings in the top charts by using third-party marketing services that uses fake users write good reviews.
The warning addresses rumors that "bot farms" or "water armies" in places such as China are offering to boost apps into the top 25 by using a mob of fake users to download an app and give it positive reviews in exchange for money.
Apple Stated on an Email to the Developers, "Once you build a great app, you want everyone to know about it. However, when you promote your app, you should avoid using services that advertise or guarantee top placement in App Store charts. Even if you are not personally engaged in manipulating App Store chart rankings or user reviews, employing services that do so on your behalf may result in the loss of your Apple Developer Program membership."

Apple will completely revamp its MacBook Pro line of notebooks this year, according to sources familiar with the company plans for 2012. The new MacBook Pros are expected to feature an ultra-thin unibody design modeled after the MacBook Air and get a spec boost to Intel next-gen Ivy Bridge chips.
Citing a source familiar with the new MacBook Pro design, AppleInsider reveals that the new Air-like MacBook Pros will be phased in over the course of this year. The revamped version of the more popular 15-inch model will be introduced first, followed by the 17-inch model later.
This will include new, ultra-thin unibody enclosures that jettison yesteryear technologies like optical disk drives and traditional hard drives in favor of models with lightweight chassis that employ flash-memory based solid-state drives, instant-on capabilities, extended battery life, and rely on digital distribution for software and media.
"They are all going to look like MacBook Airs," one person familiar with the new MacBook Pro designs told AppleInsider. Meanwhile, existing MacBook Pro designs are expected to be phased out over the course of the year.
Apple may not made any ads for the super bowl game like all other companies, but Apple Marketing team was making two new ads to advertise the iPhone4s which were recently released by Apple and Siri is again the star of the show in both instances.
"Road Trip" the ad is clearly gunning for the Valentine's day gift purchase idea. Add to that the obligatory Apple website redesign swathed in red text and suggestions of romantic engravings for the back of your iPod, iPad or iPhone.

Apple iPad3 rumors is all over the web, but today we have something diffrent and confirmed by WSJ, Apple is currently testing a smaller version of the iPad about 8-inches, may be its the iPad mini that was rumored long time ago.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has been showing its suppliers designs for a smaller slate equipped with a display somewhere around eight inches in size. Of course, prototyping a device is not the same thing as releasing it we would not be surprised if Apple is also trying out 5-, 6- and 7-inch tablets too but this is the first we have heard of the iPad maker actively investigating alternative sizes for its bestselling tablet. Resolution on the purported 8-inch iPad is said to be the same as on the 9.7-inch iPad and iPad 2 (1024 x 768).

Anonymously uploading contact data to servers without the users permission is a common practice among a lot of popular apps such as Path, Instagram, Facebook, Foursquare... etc, which use this data to find other people you know who may also be using that service.
But even though Path later apologized and deleted the data from their servers, and also issued an update that explicitly asks for your permission before uploading your contacts, the issue continued to escalate until it eventually reached Apple. Apple announced that it improve iOS privacy so it will ask user permission to share contacts with Apps, Apple said:

And today, more claims support the rumor with an close-up examination of what is allegedly the display component of an iPad 3.

MacRumors claims to have obtained an iPad 3 display component and compared it to an iPad 2 display. Upon first glance the look rather similar, both sporting a the 9.7-inch diagonal size. But with close examination, and by that we mean under a microscope, the pixel density was noticeably different. Based on this finding, the iPad 3 would sport a full resolution of 2048 x 1536 compared to the iPad 2 1024 x 768 pixel resolution.
Apple has said that the next iteration of its OS X operating system will be sold exclusively through the online Mac App Store. This means you will require a fast Internet connection and an Apple ID in order to upgrade to this OS when it releases later this year.
Apple started this trend with Lion, which was its first OS to be sold online. They even removed the software DVDs that were provided along with Macs that were sold with Lion pre-installed. However, later on Apple did start selling the OS on bootable flash drives through its stores for $69, which is a lot more than the $29 you pay for the OS through the Mac App Store. However, that option will be discontinued with the release of Mountain Lion.
We already confirmed that Apple iPad 3 will have a Retina Display, Today we have some more rumors and couple of leaked photos, The photos are reportedly depicting the new 8 megapixel camera that the latest Apple slate has and its A5X chipset.
Now there is no saying how the source of the camera photo got to the conclusion that it has 8 megapixel resolution, but still. If the image is of the real thing then it is certain that the new iPad will look identical to the old one.
Now for the picture of the Apple A5X chip, which comes to disprove earlier rumors of the iPad 3 being powered by Apple A6 SoC. And if Apple chose to rename it to A5X, it probably will not bring dramatic changes, compared to the A5 chipset.
Apple has quietly launched Mastered for iTunes, a push to deliver music "exactly as the artists and sound engineers intend it to be heard", the company maintains that iTunes Plus 256kbps AAC files are still sufficient rather than lossless. In an updated guide to sound engineers and others involved in producing music for digital distribution, Apple outlines the new "Master for iTunes droplet" which can be used to create high-quality iTunes Plus files from AIFF or WAVE masters.
The Droplet creates an AAC audio file from an AIFF or WAVE source file by first generating a CAF (Core Audio File) rendered with an iTunes sound check profile applied to the file. If the sample rate of the source file is greater than 44.1 kHz, it is downsampled to 44.1 kHz using our mastering-quality SRC. Next, it uses this newly rendered CAF to render a high quality AAC audio file. Once the final AAC audio file is generated, the intermediary CAF is deleted"Apple Mastered for iTunes guide
Some New Rumors from Some New Sources about the iPad 3 launch date and the New A5X Processor from Apple, iPad 3 is rumored to being the longer digitizer in a different location from the iPad 2, this possibly indicating an upgraded display for the tablet. This device will, according to this same source, have the capability of recording 1080p video, will have the A5X processor we saw this week, and will come with Siri installed.
The A5X processor turns out to be NOT a Quad-core processor like the A6 is supposed to be eventually, but another dual-core processor with amped-up power and capabilities over the original A5. The A5 currently sits in the iPad 2 as well as the iPhone 4S and it is the first dual-core chipset for a mobile device made for Apple by Samsung.
Next thing we know, that the iPad 3 will be announced on the 7th of March.
Apple just sent out invitations to an event next Wednesday to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Besides the time and location information, the invite only says "We have something you really need to see. And touch." The words are superimposed on what is almost certainly an iPad.
Look like Apple will unveil the iPad 3 on March 7. The event will begin at 1 pm PT Next wednesday, Rumored that this iPad (iPad 3) will be a Quad-core Device with 4G LTE support and Retina Display, this info leaked from CNBC tweet
The San Francisco location contradicts a rumor from earlier today that said the event would be held in New York City. Many expressed doubt over that rumor since it goes against almost every previous Apple product unveiling, which are typically held on the West Coast.
Another Day, Another iOS vulnerability, A security issue has been identified in iOS which gives 3d party applications and its developers secretly access to your photos without permissions.
According to The New York Times who uncovered this issue, an application that has the permission to use your location can also access your photos. They demonstrated this by commissioning a developer to create a dummy app (which was not submitted to the App Store) that popped up a notification asking the user for location (as seen above) and when provided had complete access to the photos stored on the device.
When contacted, Apple declined to comment about this issue.
We all know that the iPad 3 is coming this Wednesday. As rumored, chief among the features is the Retina display, which Simon discovers can do a lot more than you expect it to. Next comes Siri for iPad, it is pretty Magical what Siri can become in its iPad 3 version.

Steve Jobs were right, iphone is a Magical device, Non of Apple iPhone 4S owners realized that you can suddenly turn your 3G device into a 4G device with a magical software update, Most of them are so excited to see that after downloading the new iOS update their phone now shows a "4G" icon. Those who realize that just is not possible are finding out that this a bug in the Apple Software.
But What is this problem ? Apple has never launched a 4G device before. The new iPad, which goes on sale next week, will be the first. The new iPad will run iOS 5.1, the same software that iPhone 4S owners are updating to. So, the long and the short of it is most likely Apple changed the operating system display so that the 4G icon would start showing up, but somehow whatever algorithm it used to determine if a user is in a 4G zone is being triggered by iPhone 4S customers.
Conan O'Brien never misses a new Apple release without making a good Joke out of it, and we have already witnessed Conan takes on the iPad 2 and Siri.
This hilarious comedian now pointed its mocking gun to the Apple new iPad, since nothing really negative can be said about a 9.7-inch screen loaded with more than 3.1 million pixels, he went in a different direction.
It is not the screen itself, but rather what people usually do with even the most high-tech toys that is in the crosshairs of Team CoCo in the video below, I will Not spoil it for you!
The Apple's New iPad was released early this year, the sales was going up in the first quarter of the year. But this has finally started to change slowly in the second quarter of 2012, according to a new survey by Frank N. Magid Associates, a research-consulting firm from New York the iPad sales is going down and will continue to decrease.
The survey asked 4,734 phone users about whether and what tablet they use. Interestingly, it turned out that 50% of the people with a tablet have the iPad. Not if you compare it with previous estimates showing that figure at the sky-high 72%.
It seems that the main reason why the landscape in the tablet industry is changing is the new affordable tablet niche. The Amazon Kindle Fire was the one that managed to be most successful on Android, capturing a 22% piece of the pie.

As the Apple New iPad is being released on the markets worldwide right now, Some of the users who bouaght it are complaining that their new iPad is hotter than the iPad 2. The test shows it is indeed warmer than its predecessor when put on stress with just over 5°C.
Apple quickly issued a statement on the matter and said:
"The new iPad delivers a stunning Retina display, A5X chip, support for 4G LTE plus 10 hours of battery life, all while operating well within our thermal specifications. If customers have any concerns they should contact AppleCare."
The new iPad has four graphic cores and four times more pixels than the iPad 2. Of course this one will be warmer than the previous one but some users says its getting hotter while playing games.
After Apple Made retina-displays a standard-resolution display by using it in the new iPad, the iPhone 4 and 4S, A new clue found within in the latest developer release of OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) suggests that 2012 may bring us the "summer of Retina display Macs." A source with access to the latest Mountain Lion preview alerted Ars that double-sized graphics have popped up in some unexpected places, once again suggesting that Apple may be close to releasing MacBooks with high pixel-density screens.
One example comes from Messages, Apple replacement for iChat. While using the app under the second developer preview of Mountain Lion, some icons are erroneously displaying 2x resolution art. In the image below, the "audio chat" icon is a 2x version instead of the standard 1x version, according to our source.
"I would interpret it to mean that Retina [MacBook] is close; perhaps concurrent with the release of OS X 10.8," ARS source said.

Apple is locking horns with Nokia, regarding the design of the nano-SIM, the next generation of the SIM design that will be dramatically smaller than even the current micro-SIM. Both companies have put forth their version of what nano-SIM design should be, with each claiming theirs to be better.
Apple designs is the most popular among the European carriers, and there is a good chance that its design will be chosen eventually. This led to some fears that Apple will eventually control the license and others will have to pay royalty to use it.
I think this Question came across your mind, Why Apple Named her voice personal Assistant app "Siri" ?
Interestingly, Jobs was not quite happy with the name Siri as it did not begin with an "i" However, the name of the feature remained unchanged because he could not come up with a better alternative. That is what Dag (co-founder of the company that brought the feature to the world) himself revealed during a speech that he gave earlier this week. He also shared details as to why he chose the name Siri:
"I worked with a lady named Siri in Norway and wanted to name my daughter Siri and the domain was available," Dag explained. "And also consumer companies need to focus on the fact that the name is easy to spell, easy to say."
Its also inteseting to know that the Norwegian translation of "Siri" is "beautiful victorious counselor".
The New iPad (iPad 3) is the latest Tablet form Apple. We Now hear that it might be having yet another issue, ibeside to its overheating and charging problems.
According to many of the iPad 3 owners, their beloved tablet has some issues with the Wi-Fi radio, which causes intermittent connectivity, slow WiFi speeds, and failure to detect WiFi networks on range.
Apple is already aware of the problem and has even issued an internal note describing it (Photo above). It turns out it only affects Wi-Fi-only iPads and not the LTE-capable units. Apple will replace any affected device for free and will make an official statement as soon as it find the cause of this issue.

We've heard about the "iPad mini" before but we didn't see it yet. Soem New iPad mini reports arrived but this time from Chinese net portal, NetEase, who is reporting that the iPad Mini supply chain has been finalized with plans to launch 6 million units this year, according to Foxconn, the manufacture of Apple products.
As we have reported in the past, this little brother to the iPad is expected to retail between $249 and $300. Reports say that this device is being positioned as a "counter attack" to Windows 8 tablets that are expected to hit store shelves later this year.
The iPad mini is allegedly have a 7.85-inch screen with a 1024 x 768 resolution. If those reports are accurate, apps that were written for the original iPad and the iPad 2 should seamlessly run on the iPad mini.
The pristine image of Macs was shattered recently by the Flashback Trojan that had infected 650,000 Machines runuing MAC OS X and now researchers have discovered two other variants of the Trojan that could potentially infect even more Mac computers. One is a variant of the Backdoor.OSX.SabPub.a, or simply SabPub, that also exploits a Java vulnerability, while the other attacks via Microsoft Word documents.
Anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab identified the two variants, explaining that the SabPub Trojans are quite different from the Flashback variants. "SabPub is classic backdoor Trojan, so it opens full access to a victim system for attackers. Flashback and its known variants is downloader and clickjacking bot, which means it conducts click fraud scam by hijacking people's search engine results inside their web browsers," said Kaspersky Lab chief security expert Alex Gostev.

Analyst thinks that NOW is the best time possible for Apple to ditch the carriers system and begin to offer its own wireless service directly to iPhone and iPad customers. The idea of leaving the carrier system is one that we think of in terms of Google and the supposed push of the Nexus One to break the carrier stronghold, but in regards to Apple the idea was one that came to light in the Steve Jobs bio.
Steve Jobs, former Apple CEO, had wanted to replace carriers, and spent a lot of time on the idea in the years leading up to the original iPhone launch. Jobs' vision was to use unlicensed WiFi spectrum to create Apple own carrier network.
Wireless industry strategist Whitey Bluestein does not posit as to how Apple would create its own wireless network, but he does believe that the time is right for the move to happen. Bluestein has a history of working with major wireless carriers and big name tech companies like Microsoft, Nokia and Best Buy.
Bluestein says that Apple's infrastructure of retail distribution combined with its iTunes platform give it the perfect base to launch its own wireless service, and Apple has pending patents from 2006 which pertain to network architecture.
Apple want to make a step ahead of Google, leaving it (Google) to catch-up later.
Apple released iOS 5.1.1 today for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It is just a minor update that fix some previously reported bugs, The update didn't add any new feature but was carrying some Camera HRD enhancements to the iPhone 4s and the New iPad. Here is the change-log
As you can tell from the screenshot above, the update was also released as an OTA download for devices running iOS 5 and above and weighs in at just 54MB.
We all know a biopic based on the life of Steve Jobs is already being made and that Ashton Kutcher has been cast to play Jobs due to Kutcher's remarkable resemblance to him back when he was young.
TMZ has now acquired photographs of Kutcher on the sets of the movie ,which is reportedly being called "Jobs: Get Inspired", dressed in Jobs' famous blue Levi's jeans and black turtleneck, which was originally designed by Issey Miyake exclusively for Jobs. And all of this strikes me as a bit odd.
Although people are very familiar with Jobs' dress code due to his appearance in almost every one of Apple's keynotes, the truth is he didn't always wear those clothes. In fact he reportedly started wearing those sometime in the past ten years of his life. Yet here we see Mr. Kutcher portraying a young Steve Jobs with a totally different haircut, beard and clothes than what Jobs actually wore back in the day.
A lot of people already claim that Kutcher is not the best pick for the role but if the directors are going to make rookie mistakes like this, then there really isn't much hope for this movie.
Foxconn industry supply sources claim that Apple will use the thin-film touch panels on the upcoming 7.85" iPad Mini which will launch by then of the year just before the Holidays, as the Wall Street Journal already already reported.
The sources also said to name the suppliers of the innovative G/F2 touch panel, which will shave off thickness, and make the display cheaper to boot. Nitto will be making the thin-film materials, while Nissha Printing and TPK will be laminating them in the screens for the iPad Mini.
The G/F2 design, standing for glass + layer of touch film with the electrodes top and bottom laminated to it, is thinner than the traditional G/F/F design, which puts two layers on top of each other. This technology will make the 7.85" iPad Mini screen cheaper to produce, thinner and with smaller bezel too.
Apple iOS is still not fully into social sharing and SNS Integration, but sources are saying that the next version of iOS "iOS 6" is going to also bring an update to iCloud which will allow for user sharing of photos and videos. WSJ reported today that this functionality may be coming, at least according to "people familiar with the matter".
The report says that iCloud will be adding the ability to share photos and videos with others via iCloud, and also allow for commenting on shared items, but it's still unclear, in the Upcoming iOS 6, if photos and videos would be able to be shared on Social Networks like Twitter, Facebook & Google+... You can ignore the last one though (Google+), it may never happen!

Apple still didn't officially reply to these New reports, but Apple did replied to same issue back in the 2nd week when the device was launched. Apple issued a statement on the matter and said:
"The new iPad delivers a stunning Retina display, A5X chip, support for 4G LTE plus 10 hours of battery life, all while operating well within our thermal specifications. If customers have any concerns they should contact AppleCare."
Reports from Reuters and Wall Street Journal Confirm that Apple's Next Generation iPhone aka "iPhone 5" or "the New iPhone" will have a 4-inches screen measure from corner to corner.
That would represent a roughly 30 percent increase in viewing area, assuming Apple kept other dimensions proportional. Apple has been using a 3.5-inch screen since introducing the iPhone in 2007 and all these displays was Manufactured by Samsung Ltd.
Also The Reports from Reuters confirm that the Next Generation iPhone displays will NOT be Manufactured by Samsung as we announced before that Samsung will stop Manufacturing any parts for Apples products, The production of the new screens has begun at three suppliers: Korea's LG Display Co Ltd, Sharp Corp and Japan Display Inc, a Japanese government-brokered merger combining the screen production of three companies.

After filing a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on a website called "iphone5.com" that was registered back in 2008 and Apple want to take control of the website domain, Apple did win the rights to the domain though, WIPO's decision just went through.
As of now, iphone5.com is an empty webpage, As Apple will use it to redirect the viritors to this domain to the the New iPhone page on Apple.com... when it launch!
The latest News confirm that Apple's Next Generation iPhone aka iPhone 5 will pack a 4-inch display, Some people wondered how the iOS Apps & browser will look like on a 4-inch Display here is some Mock-up photos to show you.
In the mock-ups, one can easily see a few examples of how the device will benefit from having a bigger screen: it will display more of the map, more text from the same webpage, and give a significant impression of a larger space from a relatively small increase in actual screen real estate. It'll be interesting to see the perception of the larger screen size if Apple decides to changes it. However, it should be mentioned that increasing the screen size or changing the screen to device ratio could significantly alter the well known identifying look of the iPhone as we have known it, which may not have a desirable effect among iPhone fans.
If you have a question for Siri, you better ask it outside of IBM's territory because the digital assistant out of Cupertino is banned on their HQ due to security concerns. In addition to Siri, iCloud and Dropbox are also not welcome in the workplace.
So what is IBM worried about? If you've ever used Siri, you've agreed to this but IBM didn't:
"By using Siri or Dictation, you agree and consent to Apple's and its subsidiaries' and agents' transmission, collection, maintenance, processing, and use of this information, including your voice input and User Data, to provide and improve Siri, Dictation, and other Apple products and services." Apple's Siri Terms of Use.
An electronics manufacturer released a set of pictures showing the front panel of what is supposedly the Next-Generation iPod Touch. which is about 4.1-inches retina display, but we didn't get any info about the resolution.
iPod Touch and the iPhone of the same generation usually share the same screen size and resolution, so it's an easy guess the next iPhone would have the same sort of screen.

Today, BGR has obtained screenshots of Apple's 3D maps app, which is expected to debut in iOS 6 and will presumably be announced at WWDC during the June 11th keynote address.
Lately, We reported that Apple is interested in creating their very own mapping solution for a while now with the success of Google's Android operating system Apple became concerned about how much they relied on Google's iOS apps for supplying basic features. Apple has always made the front end of the Maps app, but until now they've relied on the Google Maps backend for the data.
