Xolo X900

Intel CEO Paul Otellini announced during a financial earnings call that the company's first Atom based smartphone will go on sale "later this week".

This is not really a surprise because the Indian company Lava, with whom Intel partnered to make Atom based Android phones, has already announced their intentions to launch the Xolo X900 tomorrow, April 19, in India.

The X900 has a 4-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution with proximately 295 PPI, 8-megapixel camera with flash, 10fps burst mode and 1080p video recording, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage space, HSPA+ connectivity up to 21Mbps, HDMI out and NFC built-in. The device will launch with Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 and will be Upgraded to 4.0.3 in the near future.

The Xolo X900 will use Intel Atom Z2460 processor that has a single-core 1.6GHz Saltwell CPU with Hyper-Threading, PowerVR SGX540 GPU clocked at 400MHz and 32-bit Dual channel LPDDR2 memory. This processor, however, is based on Intel x86 architecture that differs from the one that ARM uses on almost every other SoC on the market, which means application compatibility is going to be an issue initially.

iPad powered by Samsung

Well, If you don't know that already, Despite the huge patents disagreements btween Apple & Samsung, Samsung is the manufacture of all Apple's mobile products (iPhone, iPad, IPod) CPU chips like the A4, A5 and the latest A5X chip for the New iPad.

A5X Samsung

After the iPhone 5 launch this summer with the A5X chip, Samsung won't manufacture the CPU chips for upcoming Apple products anymore which was the reason of these product's success on the Market. However, Intel will kicks-in and take the deal to be the CPU Manufacture of the upcoming Apple Mobile products.

Intel

During Intel's annual investor day on Thursday, CEO Paul Otellini outlined his plans to have Intel Inside mobile devices including those manufactured by Apple. Thanks to tablet sales from the market leading Apple iPad, the PC market shrank by 6% during last year's Q4, giving Intel fewer boxes to put its chips into and none other than Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he predicts that the tablet market will eventually top the PC market. Otellini says that he needs to make Intel's silicon compelling enough by running the iPad better than the current Apple's Samsung-made chips.

Intel Wireless charring laptops

Computex this year showed many windows 8 tablets this year, One of these is this laptop with Intel's built-in wireless charging standard.

The setup demonstrated was the laptop with a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Ace) put next to it and the phone will began charging without any cables. Pretty cool, as you won't have to carry the USB cable with you as well while lugging around your laptop anymore. See the Video below!

Every year Intel talks the talk about being able to put their chips inside devices as tiny as a smartphone, but this year they are walking the walk with the help of Lenovo. The Chinese personal computer maker may not be known for smartphones on this side of the pond, but in their home country they are quite popular. They have just announced the K800 and say that it will ship in Q2 of this year running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

When it coms to Specifications you are looking at a 1.6 GHz Intel Z2460 on a 4.5 inch 720p resolution display, 8-megapixel camera, and Intel own XMM 6260 radio chipset that supports 21 Mbps 3G HSPA+, quadband EDGE.

Intel Core i5

Intel has just unveiled seven new members of its Sandy Bridge family of CPUs. We got three quad-core desktop processors of the Core i5 variety and four Celeron CPUs meant for use in mobile devices.

The first and most powerful of the new processors is Core i5-2550K, which is an unlocked-multiplier CPU with a stock clock speed of 100MHz higher than the i5-2500K. The i5-2550K runs at 3.4GHz, with frequencies of up to 3.8GHz possible with the Turbo boost.

The other two new i5 processors are 2450P and 2380P and they run at 3.2 GHz and 3.1 GHz, respectively. The P here stands for GPU-less, as those come without the built-in Intel HD 3000 graphics.

Ivy Bridge

Today, a little ahead of schedule, Intel is launching its Ivy Bridge family of processors, the first to feature what it describes as a "3D transistor".

Originally, Intel was supposed to launch the new CPU family on April 29, but after the numerous delays, Intel decided to release it. Built around the 22nm manufacturing process, the Ivy Bridge CPUs feature Intel's 3D tri-gate transistors technology, which boosts power efficiency.
