According to AllthingsD, Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with the release date to follow 9 days later on Friday, September 21.

The iPad mini will be announced at the same September 12th event, as will the new iPod nano. We haven't heard a release date for the iPad mini yet, but it could be the same as the iPhone 5. It seems likely the new iPod touch will make an appearance on September,12 as well, though we haven't heard any specific information about that yet either.

With another big change in design expected for Apple's 6th generation iPhone, some pictures purportedly of the new model found their way to the website of Chinese case retailer Shenzhen Coolzone Technology LTD. where cases for the Apple iPhone 5 are already available.

The pictures do show the smaller pin-connector on the bottom of the phone and also had the new 3.5mm jack which also is now found on the bottom of the device. This seems to legitimize the photos. One of the pictures shows the back of the unit which has a flat back like the current model and looks to be made of some type of metal, which wraps around the sides of the phone.

Some accessory makers for Apple devices have been told that the new iPhone 5 will be available starting from 21,September 2012.

A french blog site App4phone.fr says a large Chinese accessory-maker has been told directly by Apple to be prepared for this date. While it's feasible that some accessory manufacturers might be given a heads-up, a September launch would be earlier than predicted.

Apple's Next-Gen iPhone aka iPhone 5 will have a redesigned dock connector is something that we've heard before. Reuters report is also confirming that a 19-pin dock connector will be used in the upcoming iPhone.

In order "to make room for the earphone [jack] moving to the bottom," the smaller, 19-pin connector will replace the all-familiar 30-pin one, that has been in use with Apple gadgets ever since the 3rd generation iPod hit the market.

Mr.Fran Shammo, Verizon's CFO, have tipped a 4th Quarter on 2012 release of the Apple iPhone 5. During the carrier's conference call made last week to report its latest quarterly earnings, Shammo said that a "big smartphone" was coming to Verizon in the fourth quarter.

Apple's iPhone 5 already reached the production status after passing all the engineering and quality tests.
