iPhone 6

Looks like Apple is following Samsung's Path, the Galaxy S5 was released with a IP67-certification dust and waterproof that can withstand submersion in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Now, a new leaked photo of an Apple iPhone 6 Proto-type device shows that it is Waterproof. You can see photos showing the phone purported to be the Apple iPhone 6, submerged in water.

This would be a huge new feature for the iPhone from a competitive standpoint. We don't know if Apple's iPhone 6 will have the same IP67 certification or not, but full font glass-coating and tight unibody says it all. We'll see when Apple release it this fall.

iOS 8

A new allegedly Screenshot leaked from China shows iOS 8 running on a larger-screened Apple iPhone 6. You need to take this with a grain of salt, as you would with any unofficial story of this magnitude. But let's hold off on the cynicism for a second to look at the image. It shows the icons arranged in a 5 x 7 grid, including a dock row consisting of five icons. The current 4-inch iPhone units have a 4 x 6 icon grid.

The resolution of 966 x 1600 on the image reveals that this screen is not intended for any current version of the Apple iPhone or Apple iPad. In addition, the apps are in the same order as the default screen for iOS 7 from Messages to Stocks. The five apps on the purported iOS 8 app dock, include the four that are the default apps on the iOS 7 app dock.

iOS 8

Rumors about the iOS 8 is spreading around the web, we know for sure that Apple's Next iOS coming this fall with the iPhone 6, but What's new on iOS 8 ? Today, TechCrunch released a nice new video that gathers up all of the various rumors that we've seen so far and mashes them together.

Obviously, the video essentially amounts to a rumor roundup combined with a concept render, but it does cover all of the more interesting things we've seen. The big pieces are those that would potentially connect to the iWatch, like the new Healthbook app, which would track various items. It's unclear exactly what would be included beyond the usual heart rate, pedometer, distance, calorie tracking, etc. The video shows options for bloodwork, hydration, and blood pressure, but there have been rumors that those added features wouldn't make the cut, because it would then add required FDA certification for the iWatch. Watch it below!
