Samsung-Galaxy-A9-Pro-2018-camera-details-leak-alongside-key-specs.jpg

If you thought that the recently launched Galaxy A7 (2018) with three rear cameras wasn't quite enough, rumor has it that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A9 (2018) with four rear cameras on October 11, 2018. The event on October 11 has been highlighted by Samsung with a subtle hint to this fact, which states "4x fun." It could also mean something else, but at this point, all rumors seem to be pointing towards the fact that the smartphone will have four rear cameras. If this does turn out to be true, Samsung will be the first manufacturer in the world to have a quad rear camera smartphone. The camera specs are expected to be 24-mp primary sensor + 8-mp wide angle sensor + 5-mp and 10-mp zooming lenses.

It would actually be quite interesting to see if the extra cameras are able to beat the dual camera modules on the flagship range handsets like the ones on the Galaxy Note 9 and the S9 Plus. If the specifications are true though, I would be surprised if the upcoming Galaxy A9 (2018) with four cameras doesn't beat the current-gen flagship handsets.

A live picture, a few leaked press renders and a bunch of rumors are suggesting that the next Galaxy A7 will probably sport three cameras on its back and that would be a first from Samsung for sure. However, one of the suggestions in the aforementioned rumors can now be discarded after the latest leaks showed that the A7 (2018) will indeed be sporting just one front camera, instead of two like the rumor had suggested.

If you are baffled and somewhat worried by not seeing the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, don't worry, because that doesn't mean Samsung is doing an Apple and getting rid of the fingerprint scanner altogether! It's just that they have probably decided to put the fingerprint scanner on the A7's side this year. Expect the specifications of the A8 (2018) to be similar to what the A8+ (2018) is featuring, which includes an Exynos 7885 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Reports indicate that the A7 (2018) will be unveiled on October 11, along with the Galaxy A9 (2018), which will likely sport four cameras on its back!

S10

The Galaxy S9 is an excellent smartphone, or at least the S9+ is anyway! Nevertheless, it didn't get as much critical acclaim as the Galaxy S8 did back in 2017. The reason for this is of course the fact that the S9 and S9+ look almost identical to the S8 and S8+. Not that it was a bad thing mind you, especially in a world where every Android device was copying Apple and their notch. However, a lot of Samsung fans (including myself) held on to their S8/S8+ in the hope that the S10 will offer something much more innovative over the infinity display design, that's now starting to date. If the latest rumors are to be believed, then that may not after all be the case and the S10 could very well end up looking almost exactly like the S9! Famous leakster Ice Universe on the other hand, doesn't' quite agree or at least would hate to see that, as mentioned in his tweet, which follows as such.

"If the Galaxy S10 still does not adopt a major change in design, Samsung will be completely defeated by Huawei and damage the Samsung brand."

Samsung has so far managed to stay away from the notch by sticking to its tried and tested low-bezel displays but they might actually introduce the infamous notch after all, albeit in a completely different way. Instead of opting for the hated notch on top to accommodate the sensors, mic and cameras, Samsung's future flagship smartphone in 2019 may just sport a side-notch on the Edge display! Cool as the idea may sound, the practicality of it doesn't make too much sense now, but the patent has indeed been filed by Samsung under the name, "Electronic Device Including Bended Display and Image Displaying Method Therethrough."

This could help Samsung eliminate the bezels altogether but even then, the design doesn't seem to be too practical at the moment. May be the patent will be discarded or maybe they will find a better way to implement the technology, but there's no denying that the Vivo Nex is a live example of the fact that a better alternative to the notch does indeed exist for truly bezel-less smartphones.

After years of rumors and reports, it had just recently been almost established that Samsung will be releasing their first foldable-display phone in 2019, but as per a new report by CNBC, that is no longer the situation because they could very well be releasing the company's first smartphone with a foldable display in 2018 itself. The report is authentic because D.J. Koh (President and CEO of Samsung Mobile and IT) himself has confirmed all the rumors by stating the following.

"It's time to deliver on a foldable device after consumer surveys showed that there is a market for that kind of handset."

Koh further elaborated on the topic by saying that the team has almost finished the complex development process, indicating that a 2018 release may just be on the cards. It should be noted that Samsung had declared back in July that their unbreakable and flexible OLED displays are now officially certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Our best guess is that more will be revealed at the Samsung Developer Conference (San Francisco) in November.
