Android Nougat 7.1 is rumoured to launch with the upcoming Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones. Now that the October 4 press event is just two days away, we are pretty excited to see what the company has in store for us. However, if you want to experience a few of the features that Android Nougat 7.1 will bring with it, right now on your phone, Action Launcher 3 has you covered. The launcher now has multiple unique attributes of the next Nougat OS incorporated into it, thanks to the latest update.

Some of the features included in the update are Quickcuts (launcher shortcuts), round icons, All Apps drawer, new widgets, Google "Pill," tinted dock background, new folder styles from the Pixel Launcher, caret page indicator and much more. Action Launcher is free to download and use but accessing some of the features here will cost you a few bucks. If you are planning to get the LG V20, the Pixel phones or any of the upcoming smartphones with Android Nougat on them, this might not be of much interest to you. But for those of us who are using phones that will probably never see the actual Android Nougat OS running on their current devices, this could be a nice little taste of the future.

Although LG V20 was the first phone to sport Android Nougat 7.0 right out of the box, the LG G5 has only just begun to receive its first taste of Nougat since last week, when the Sprint versions began to receive it via OTA. Reports all around have confirmed that the T-Mobile version of the LG G5 has just started to receive the 1.2GB OTA file. As expected, the update package also contains the November security release.

Even though the details or the news itself has not yet been updated on the support page of T-Mobile, users on Reddit and XDA Developers Forum have revealed the build number to be NRD90U. In case you want to search for it manually, go to Settings > General > About phone > Update centre > System update > Check for update. In case it has already landed on your LG G5, we recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to download the rather large file. We are pretty sure it's more or less the same build that we saw on the LG V20.

Samsung has already released the Galaxy Note 5 Nougat 7.0 update for a lot of the regions including the US, India and South Korea. Europe joins the list today as Romania was reportedly the first country to receive the OTA package in the region. All other European nations should join in the action soon enough. If you are in another European country and have already started to receive the update, do let us know in the comments.

Just like all other versions of the update for the Galaxy Note 5, this one also comes in at a hefty 1300MB. The firmware version on the update is N920IDVU3CQD3. As always, turn on the Wi-Fi and enter the world of Nougat; the latest and greatest OS that Android has had to offer yet. However, I don't know how much longer I will be able to keep saying that, given that Android O is just around the corner.

Users of the Galaxy A5 (2016) in Netherlands were not fortunate enough to receive the Nougat update like most of Europe did months ago and just when things were starting to look particularly embarrassing for Samsung Netherlands, they have started to roll out the elusive update. Late as it may be, if you are in Netherlands and you own the neglected smartphone, this is good news for you. So start checking for the OTA package on your smartphone now.

The update is only valid for unlocked versions of the phone so if your Galaxy A5 (2016) is carrier locked, we are sorry to say that unfortunately this news doesn't concern you. The build number on the firmware is A510FXXU4CQE9 and strangely enough, it only contains the May security patch instead of the expected June SMR. Apart from upgrading your Android OS, the update will also change the overlying UI in certain areas such as the notification shade and the app icons. If you see any other changes worth mentioning, do let us know in the comments.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has already received the update and the premium Galaxy Tab S2 had received it even earlier. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has been left unattended for a while now. The good news is that it's probably going to change very soon as Samsung will likely be dishing out Nougat to the Tab A 9.7 (SM-T550) in the coming weeks. We don't have any official confirmation regarding this but then again, when do we ever?

As is often the case with these reports, this one comes to us thanks to a leak on Wi-Fi Alliance, where the tablet was seen running on Nougat for Wi-Fi certification purposes. Any phone that is seen on the site running on a new firmware version, usually gets the firmware within the next few weeks. SamMobile is of the opinion that it should take anything between four to five weeks to be more precise, until the OTA package starts rolling out in Europe.
