As you may know, Apple iPad mini event is just couple of hours away, Apple Fan boys is waiting for the New iPad mini and the iPad 4 announcement. Meanwhile, let's unwind with a bit of lighthearted humor before the big event begins.

According to a new rumor, Apple is currently testing the first update to iOS 6, which will be iOS 6.0.1. The good news is that the relatively minor update is expected to become available in a few weeks.

Well, if this unofficial info is to be believed, iOS 6.0.1 will get rid of some really annoying bugs like the horizontal lines appearing at times when typing with the QWERTY keyboard or opening a folder.

Apple is expected to introduce a smaller 7.85-inch iPad mini at the company's event on Tuesday, but that doesn't mean a newer iPad "iPad 4" isn't making its way towards production for release in the spring. We have received photos of what we're told is the 4th generation iPad's lightning dock connector and various New colors.

The photo compares the 4th generation iPad's dock to the iPad mini dock, and the connector looks to be a brand new design. This most likely signals that the 4th generation iPad will also feature a redesigned interior to accommodate different components. We were also told that this is not simply the refreshed lightning dock connector for the 3rd generation iPad.

The main goal behind the Apple iPad mini which is coming on the Next week's Event, to compete with the $149 Google Nexus 7 and the $200 Kindle fire HD, both are a 7-inch best selling Android tablets.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, did some work and found that the 16GB Wi-Fi version of Apple's mini tablet costs $195 to build while the top of the line 64GB 4G LTE version costs Apple $254.50. Kuo expects Apple to start the pricing for the smaller tablet at $299 and up.

Consider that the Apple iPhone 5 generates gross margins of 213% to 257%. It must be partly the device itself as the gross margins on the third iteration of the Apple iPad weigh in at 58% to 103%. It is interesting that back in August, another analyst crunched the numbers and came up with the same $299 prediction for the price tag on the Apple iPad mini.

Apple has scheduled an event next week on October 23rd to announce the iPad mini, but it looks like this event will have much more than as Apple will update the current iPad model "New iPad" with a Newer one.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will be releasing a slightly updated version of the existing iPad, which was released back in March. Although they don't have the details on the things that will be changed, the presence of the new Lightning connector is said to be the most likely new addition.

Apple already set a date for the iPad mini launch event, next Tuesday and the overwhelming proof is for a smaller, cheaper iPad to compete with Google Nexus 7 and kindle fire.

After the announcement subside on October 23, the Pre-order will start on Friday the October 26th, and, as usual Apple's launches go, shipping will start November 2nd, a week after the preorders start.

The iPad mini October,23rd event is not the only event Apple has scheduled for the forthcoming weeks. From November,7th until November,9th Apple will host its next "Made for i" conference in Shenzhen, China.

During the event, accessory manufacturers will be enlightened on the art of creating peripherals utilizing the new, all-digital Lightning connector. And since the new interface is bound to replace the 30-pin dock completely, we bet that the gathering will be of epic proportions.

Samsung fans will relate as, Apple lost its appeal against Samsung in from of the UK Court judge, Apple claimed in its appeal that Samsung copied its iPad design.

Now after losing the battle, Samsung won, and Apple is forced to run Ads in British newspapers, and leave a message on its Apple UK website telling that Samsung didn't infringe on its design patents.

Sounds a bit humiliating, but the law is the law, and if the US had something similar. That is the same judge who jokingly acknowledged that Samsung's tablets aren't considered as "cool" as the iPad.

Apple doesn't provide technical specs of its products when it comes to RAM and other hardware internals. iFixit has torn down the 5th generation iPod touch, and confirmed that the device contains 512 MB of RAM, the same as the iPhone 4/4S, but more than the 256MB of RAM found in the previous generation iPod touch.

Also the New iPod touch 5 pack inside of it an Apple's A5 processor and 32 GB of NAND flash from Toshiba. The battery notably has jumped to 1030 mAh, more than the fourth-generation iPod touch's 930 mAh cell. The device's display is claimed to be "a much simpler, cheaper design" than the iPhone 5 display.

Apple has just sent out Invitations to an event on October,23rd. The invitation card says "We've got a little more to show you"... Of course, we know its the iPad mini, a 7-inch version of the New iPad with the same retina display but lighter, thinner and smaller.

Also, rumors claim that Apple may be demonstrating a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display as well, to be the smaller version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro Retina that was released with the New iPad.
