Oppo has launched a new smartphone, the K5. The launching event proved many leaks true, as the phone has more powerful and latest processing chip - Snapdragon 730G processor, 6GB Sku and a quad-camera system at a rear side. The rear camera features a 64-MP sensor. The K5 is also the first device to feature a VOOC 4.0 battery. It is reportedly rated to charge a 4000mAh battery in just 73-minutes.


The device has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This display, unlike its predecessor K3 has a waterdrop notch instead of a pop-up camera for selfie pictures. It contains a 32MP lens for the front camera. The rear camera has a 64MP primary lens that uses Samsung's GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Also included 2MP cameras for portrait effects. Theoretically, the device is a competent smartphone and has 8MP memory and up to 256GB of storage. The phone also gets a frame boost and touch boost optimization for a better gaming experience.


It runs on Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 over the top. The Oppo K5 is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM cards. For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, USB type-c, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The Oppo K5 supports face unlock. It may have a lot of premium features but it falls into a mid-range smartphone thanks to its price tag. OPPO K5 price in India is expected to be Rs. 18,990.

Oppo made headlines when it announced its new smartphone capable of 65W charging, making it the fasted wired charging device in the market. The company gave a reference to Oppo Reno Ace for having this technology. Now, the company has launched the Reno Ace in China and so far, it is the fastest charging phone with no competition in the industry.


Another big selling point is its huge battery of 4,000mAh which can be fully charged from zero in just 30 minutes. It takes the phone only 5 minutes to charge from zero to 27% capacity which is pretty fast. The phone also supports USB-PD and Qualcomm's quick charge technologies. The phone is a power pack with its fast processing chip - snapdragon 855. It is available in two variants - the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage. It also features the latest storage technology UFS 3.0.


The device has a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and has a 90Hz refresh rate, similar to OnePlus' recent phone. The phone has a waterdrop notch for the front camera, having a 16MP lens. For the rear camera, it uses a 48MP camera lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 116-degree FOV, a 13MP telephoto shooter with 5x hybrid zoom, and 2MP monochrome sensor. For security, it uses an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device will be available in Psychedelic purple and starry blue. The price starts at $450 for the entry-variant.

When we talk about the premium smartphones, OPPO comes very far in the line. The company is primarly focusing on the budget-friendly smartphones for its users such as the Oppo F series which is doing very well in the big countries like China and the India. The latest smartphones in the same category were the oppo F11 and the oppo F11 Pro which were launched earlier this year. Until last year, Oppo also used to sell the upper mid-range R series, the culmination of which was the Oppo R17 and the Oppo R17 Pro.


This year Oppe release two smartphones in the Reno series - the regular Oppo reno and the flagship Reno 10x Zoom. The regular Oppo Reno was an upper-mid range phone with the Qualcomm snapdragon 710 Soc, but it had a short life cycle. The Oppo Reno 10x zoom, on the other hand, is a full-fledged smarphon with a 10x hybrid zoom telephoto camera. The phone is powered by the the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, and a big 6.6-inch AMOLED display. The Reno 10x Zoom is also priced lower than last year's Find X. In indian market, the starting variant of the phone is cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro which is interesting.


OPPO then launched the OPPO Reno2 mid-range phones in India, consisting of the Reno2, Reno2Z, and the Reno2F. However, the Reno 10x Zoom still remains the company's flagship phone. The Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a 6.6-inch OLED display with 1080 resolution and 19:5:9 ratio. It uses gorilla glass 6 for the protection. There are two variants with 6GB and 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage. The battery is 4065mAh and fro security it uses optical in-display. It uses 48MP as primary sensor, and 13MP telephoto sensor, and 8MP 120 ultra-wide sensor. It has 16MP with front-facing LED for the front camera.

Oppo has recently sent invites to media for the media briefing about the phone. The phone is confirmed to feature a four-camera system with a 48MP ultra-wide camera sensor. The company has also revealed that the phone will pack an 8GB RAM, and has 128GB storage. The camera will have other features like ultra-night-mode for the night photography and video stabilization feature.


The company revealed about its quad-camera setup with a 48-MP primary sensor via a tweet one day before its launch. It also stated the detail about its storage, memory, and ultra-night-mode. The phone will be available in four colors - white, blue, purple, and black. For security, it has an extra security layer of the fingerprint sensor at the backside just underneath the quad-camera. The Oppo A9 has three sensors aligned vertically, and another small sensor positioned at the side beneath the flashlight.


There will be a waterdrop notch to hold the 16-megapixel front camera for the selfie, similar to its predecessor. The smartphone will be powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC processing chip. The predecessor Oppo A9 was powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC coupled with half the amount of RAM, and just dual rear cameras. The phone belongs to the budget-friendly mobile category. It will have a .5-inch LCD with a resolution of 1,600x720. The smartphone's sale comes at a time when smartphone shipments in India through online channels have started increasing. Sales increased by 26% in April to June quarter of 2019. Counterpoint's market report suggested. Oppo's sub-brand Realme held 17% of the share.

Oppo has announced three phones under the Reno 2 brand name after 10x zoom camera phone released this year. All three devices the Reno 2, Reno 2 Z, and Reno 2 F are launching in India first and have four-facing cameras in various configuration. The processing power of these phone are also different from each other. The top-end Reno 2 isn't as high end as its predecessor flagship smartphones.


The early Reno with 10x zoom is still the fastest Reno in the series with its processing chip - Snapdragon 855. The Reno 2, is more like a sequel of original Reno that sits right at the top of what you can expect from a budget-friendly smartphone. It has Snapdragon 730 processing chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The device has a screen display of 6.5-inchd with dynamic AMOLED display pale. It uses the same screen technology as the Galaxy S10 and Note 10. The Z and F both have quad-camera system including a 48MP primary camera. The only difference between the Z and F is that Z uses Sony's sensor whereas the F goes for Samsung's cheaper sensor.


Quad-camera array isn't a new thing anymore. It features an 8MP camera lens, a 16mm-equivalent wide-angle module, a 26mm camera using 48MP sensor, a 13MP camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor. It all adds up to 5x optical zoom with software do the remaining work. All the phones have USB-C, flash charging, a headphone jack. To keep them working all day long, the battery is 4,000mAh. An optical in-display fingerprint sensor keeps the security intact whereas the phone runs on ColorOS 6.1.
