Latest News - / Samsung - Posts

Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9+ handsets are almost on the verge of being released now, but surprisingly enough, we have not yet seen too many live images of the two devices yet; something that has not happened in the recent past. While not having enough leaks is not Samsung's problem, they have indeed just released brand new teaser videos in South Korea. If you have not checked the three teasers out yet, feel free to do so now.

All the teasers are 15-seconds long and as we expected, doesn't really show us much at all. However, there is a little hint regarding the animated 3D emojis (aka Apple's Animojis) about which ETNews reported just yesterday. Also, the low light capabilities of the f/1.5 aperture on one of the S9+'s camera seems to be the focus in one of the ads. It's all marketing though as we don't really see the real device. What do you see in the teasers? Did we miss anything obvious? Let us know in the comments if you see anything new.

The poop Anomoji showcased by the Cupertino giant during the unveiling of the iPhone X and later put into ads was a topic of much criticism, but what couldn't be denied was the fact that the new iPhones were indeed packing some seriously advanced level motion capture technology. However, according to a new report by ETNews from South Korea, Samsung will do one better with the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Unfortunately, we will have to wait to find out what exactly is it that will make Samsung's animated emojis better than those on the iPhone X, because the source has not made that clear!

Even if you don't care much for the animated emojis, you will almost surely care abut the fact that the S9 and S9+ will feature stereo speakers for the first time ever! With one speaker on the top and one at the bottom, it would be interesting to see if those match up to the ones on the new Pixels.

The Galaxy C10 Plus is an upcoming device that will probably be limited to certain markets only, just like the rest of the smartphones in the C-series. Nevertheless, the C-series has been quite impressive lately and the C10 Plus doesn't seem to be an exception to that either. Although we don't have a score for you unfortunately, the screenshot you see below does reveals quite a few of the details regarding the internals of the Galaxy C10 Plus.

Display: 1080p Super AMOLED (possibly at more than 6-inches)

CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor

GPU: Adreno 512

RAM: 6GB

Internal Storage: 64GB

OS version: Nougat 7.1

If this leak is indeed not fake (which it doesn't seem to be), then we know only one thing for sure about the device's released cycle; China is going to be the first country to get it. India could be on the list too, but we will have to wait and see about that one. Would you buy the Galaxy C10 Plus if it became available near you? How much Would you pay for it?

Samsung has managed to keep the Galaxy S9 and S9+ surprisingly under the lid this year, as compared to any other year in recent memory. Not that there is much left to the imagination really, given that we know most things about it already and have seen enough renders to know what it will look like. Even then, there have hardly been any videos or images that have so far shown the S9 or the S9+ live. We may have seen a dummy unit, but it's still not the real thing. Nevertheless, we have more renders for you today and this time it comes from Evan Blass of @evleaks himself.

Aside from confirming certain facts that we knew already (like the dual camera on the S9+), the leaked render unveils a new color to us, the Lilac Purple. In case you are not yet familiar with the most probable specs of the upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9+, do take a look at the following highlights.

6.2-inch (S9+)/5.8 -inch (S9) Super AMOLED 1440p Infinity Display

Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC (US and China)/Exynos 9810 (international version)

4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (S9)/6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage (S9+)

Dual rear camera (12mp + 12mp at f/2.4 and f/1.5) for the S9+ and just a single rear camera for the S9

The Galaxy S9 is yet to be unveiled and we already have a source on the internet that seems to know quite a bit about next year's flagship smartphone from Samsung, aka the Galaxy S10! While no information leaked this early can actually be taken very seriously, it might be worth noting that this piece of information comes from quite a credible source on the Chinese social networking website Weibo. Apparently, the S10 will sport a bigger battery and a chipset with AI capabilities.

The dedicated neural processing chip is actually quite an expected leak really, given that's where Apple and the rest of the smartphone OEMs are heading. It also reveals that the S10 will have UFS 3.0 memory, which would translate to lightning fast data transfer. The battery bit is quite interesting too as not only will it be bigger, but it will also be L-shaped to accommodate the Galaxy S10's form factor.  Other features according to the rumor include a next gen Infinity display with 93% screen-to-body ratio, support for 5G networks, better facial recognition and a pressure-sensitive display. Do you think this rumor has any credence or is it just another one of those hype posts?
