The LG G2 was officially unveiled mere hours ago, and so far we've already heard that all the big four carriers in the US will sell it eventually. T-Mobile and Sprint have already confirmed their intentions, with the other two soon to follow undoubtedly.

The benchmarks Droid-Life ran were AnTuTu and Quadrant, two of the most commonly used tests to pit phones against each other. With a five star rating from AnTuTu and the largest Quadrant score probably someone ever seen, it's a safe bet that the G2 can perform under pressure.

LG G2 when powered on, the 5.2-inch 1080p LCD is stunningly sharp and bright. On the bottom you'll find the microUSB port, headphone jack, and speakers, and the top features only a small IR blaster and microphone. The back cover is non-removable and contains a 3,000 mAh battery, and there is no microSD card slot.

Thanks Droid-Life

Today, LG Electronics is set to unveil the G2, the Korean company's flagship smartphone and successor to last year's well-received Optimus G. With so much recent media attention devoted to iPhone speculation, Samsung's seemingly never-ending S4 lineup and the Moto X from Google GOOG -0.93%, it's easy to forget that LG sits third in global smartphone market share according to IDC's latest report. And while the handset division may have lacked for runaway hits over the last few of years, it did manufacture the Google Nexus 4.

The G2 is widely expected to feature a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5.2-inch LCD Full HD display, 2GB or RAM and a 13MP camera. The most distinctive feature of the new phone (which some think may be the basis of the next Nexus) is the absence of physical buttons on the front and sides of the device, and their placement on the rear of the device.

A demo video was released by LG that shows their Optimus G Pro featuring technology that is very, very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S 4. Plenty of people are now calling LG a copycat because their Optimus G Pro will apparently feature the same eye-detection capability that plays or stops videos when one looks at or looks away from the screen.

Another feature of the LG Optimus G Pro that the Galaxy S 4 can also do is the ability to simultaneously take pictures on both cameras for a "picture-in-picture" effect. Pause and resume recording, on the other hand, enables taking videos continuously.

LG seems to be proud at offering these features at a more affordable value than if people would buy the Samsung S 4. However, many are quite disappointed that LG did not differentiate much from Samsung's newest technologies to offer.

Great news for LG Optimus 4X HD owners, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the your Optimus 4X is being distributed over the LG Update Servers You can get the official KDZ update file from our LG Firmware Central or wait a little bit more to pop in your official LG Update tool.

We also received updates that European version is now live. Slowly reaching other regions. Congratulations to all 4X HD owners!

The Jelly Bean upgrades will be available OTA (Over-the-air) but you can also update your smartphone using the LG update tool. Sadly, there is no confirmation on when the update rollout will complete, but it shouldn't take long.

Most smartphone and tablet manufacturers have already seen the potential for the demand of feature-packed watches and after Apple, Google and Samsung, LG is the next to join in the race. It recently announced that it will release its smart watch soon and we'll just have to wait and see which company launches a good smart watch first.

No details like specs and the kind of OS that will be used were provided by the Korean Times, which reported the company's announcement. However, LG will purportedly introduce a smart watch that has messaging and call capabilities and will most likely use Android or even quite possibly, the Firefox OS.

It can also be recalled that LG has previously released a smart watch that notifies the user for calls and alerts with the Prada II. However, for some reason, folks were not yet ready to embrace the technology much like they do with smartphones and tablets. With everybody announcing a smart watch announcement, now might be the best time to introduce a smart watch and LG is right on track.
