In two days, HTC will launch its number one smartphone, the HTC One and a black one is ready for offer, aside from the silver variant that is previously shown on released official HTC One photos.

One of the major changes in appearance includes the two-button controls on the bottom of the phone, which are not present on its predecessor. Also, since HTC will launch on different continents simultaneously, it seems to imply that the black HTC will be launched in the US and the silver one in London, at least judging by the press shot.

Furthermore, all major US carriers will offer HTC One on their smartphone line-up and Verizon is said to launch the latest HTC One version last. Prices will vary depending on the memory but must not extraordinarily go beyond $300. This is a 4.7-incher and runs on 1.7GHz quad core Snapdragon.

A leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 shows that it also comes in black. The 8-incher that was introduced in last week's Mobile World Congress was a white marble Note 8. This device is Samsung's answer to the Apple iPad mini and it comes with a stylus or the S Pen, possibly for illustration and other features.

Another cool feature of the Galaxy Note 8.0 is the Smart Stay that allows your tablet to recognize if you are still up. It will automatically go on standby, once you sleep or stop using it. The user interface is seamless and very responsive.

Many people are quite happy with the black Note 8, but some still need a bit of convincing because of the polycarbonate plastic build, instead of glass. Furthermore, some do not like the 1280x800 resolution, which is quite short for good movie watching. However, this is enough with good gaming already.

Vodafone has announced the Vodafone Smart III, its latest affordable Android handset for those on a budget.

Following the line of own-brand devices, the new Smart III comes with a 4-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution display. That might make for a slightly soft rendering of the Android Jelly Bean operating system, but at this price you can hardly complain.

The Smart III features a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a 1 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and all the usual connectivity options.

The Vodafone Smart III only priced at £95 on Pay as you go.
