If the HTC One is just too small for your needs, how about the HTC T6, a 5.9-inch HTC device code-named the T6 is purportedly in development.

It's rumored that HTC is planning to launch a 5.9 inch Full HD Android device, currently codenamed T6. According to EVleaks, the HTC T6 will come with a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Boom Sound speakers, an Ultrapixel rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal memory, and a 3300 mAh battery. It's said that the T6 will run the unreleased Android Key Lime Pie.

The HTC One already encroached on Samsung's Android dominance with the Galaxy S4, but based on newly leaked specs, HTC is thinking bigger.

While the phablet game has largely been Samsung's to lose at this point, the supposed specs for the T6 might finally give the Note series a run for its money.

LG Display is looking to get a ban on sales of Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet in South Korea, claiming that it violates three of their patents covering the display.  LG Display can also be seeking damages of US$933,000 daily for ongoing infractions while Samsung continues to sell named device. The most recent move is surely an escalation in a patent dispute involving the two companies over display patents.

Back in September, LG Display filed a patent lawsuit against numerous Samung smartphones citing OLED related patents. Samsung denies the claims, and possesses previously noted that it holds more display related patents than LG Display - so a tit-for-tat dispute could escalate even further if the two sides cannot agree funds.

In November, Samsung retaliated by filing its own suit against LG seeking to invalidate the patents in question on the grounds that they "lack innovation."

T-Mobile just announced the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note II. The Galaxy Note II is T-Mobile's first device with a quad-core processor, featuring Samsung's 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor. In addition, the Galaxy Note II is T-Mobile's first smartphone shipping with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the device's 3100mAh battery powers up to 15 hours of talk time1.

"When combined with our Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan, the Galaxy Note II is a true powerhouse device with exclusive features, amazing 4G experiences and superior value that only T-Mobile can deliver."

Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular will also launch the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the US pretty soon. They should all start selling it my mid-November the latest.

Hey Android Developers, check this out, Samsung just released the source code for that newly released Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The code needs to be enough to get your clients started down the path toward custom ROMs for the 5.5-inch "phablet." Search these model number at the source link below to locate it.

The Galaxy Note II is based on Android 4.1.1 with the new TouchWiz interface. Thanks to this release developers could make easier new DEV roms for the Galaxy Note II.

Generally speaking, Walmart is less expensive than T-Mobile directly but when it comes to the Galaxy Note II, $299 is looking like a standardized price considering that's the same price Sprint announced for their Note II variant. As with all early pricing, these amounts are subject to change.

According to the leak from Tmonews.com, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for T-Mobile could launch at a price of $300, with the LG Optimus LG L9 coming in at under a dollar. With Walmart being the "low price leader," I also hope there will be some type of mail-in rebates for the Galaxy Note II.  We will just have to wait and see.

Service provider ATT today announced the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The newest 5.5 inch Android Jelly Bean handset will be available to AT&T customers starting November 9 - just two weeks after Sprint launches its version.

Similar to Sprint, ATT will ask $299.99 for the Samsung Galaxy Note II with a contract. Pre-orders will begin on October 25.

As you may already know, the Samsung Galaxy Note II has a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz, LTE connectivity, S Pen, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera, and a 3,100 mAh battery.

Verizon, T-Mobile and US Cellular may also launch the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the US, but haven't provided specific launch dates yet. Here's the ATT press release.

Beginning Nov. 9 customers interested in picking up a Samsung Galaxy Note® II will be able to purchase one for $299.99 with a two-year agreement in all AT&T* stores and online. Online pre-orders for this highly anticipated device are planned for Oct. 25 at www.att.com/galaxynoteii.

Announced last month, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is one of the first smartphones launching at AT&T to feature a quad-core processor. Galaxy Note II uses a 1.6 GHz quad-core ExynosTM processor with powerful graphics capabilities. The Galaxy Note II is thinner and narrower than the first Galaxy Note, and it improves upon the original with longer battery life, as well as enhancements to the S PenTM. AT&T is the only carrier to offer the original Samsung Galaxy NoteTM at $199.99 with a two-year agreement.

The Galaxy Note II will run on AT&T's 4G LTE network. It will ship running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on its beautiful 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLEDTM display, perfect for customers who want the productivity of a tablet with the portability of a smartphone. The 8-megapixel camera allows users to easily share their photos with friends through Share Shot, while S BeamTM lets you quickly share videos, pictures, maps and more with other Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S® III devices.

AT&T customers have access to the nation's largest 4G network**, covering 275 million people. AT&T has two 4G networks that work together for customers, LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul. Samsung's most popular mobiles could be vulnerable to app-based attacks, according to a XDA developer, he discovery a security risk in Samsung's own-brand Exynos 4 processor.

XDA Developers member "alephzain" says they found the problem when investigating new ways to root the Samsung Galaxy S3. The vulnerability lies within Samsung's Exynos 4 chip, and noted that a Play Store app could potentially access information from the phone's RAM or even inject malicious code directly into its kernel. It has also been reported that the vulnerability could affect all devices that are equipped with a Exynos 4210 or 4412 processor and utilize Samsung's kernel.

"RAM dump, kernel code injection and others could be possible via app installation from Play Store", alephzain writes. The Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note 2 could also play host to the same security hole. The good news is we can easily obtain root on these devices", the original post reads, "and the bad is there is no control over it".

It seems users have been able to plug the hole with some industrious tinkering, though adjusting the smart phone's code appears to be disabling the S3's camera. Luke at CNET contacted Samsung about the reported vulnerability and he will post an update.

When Samsung was brought attention to this problem, they posted the following message.

"We are currently in the process of conducting an internal review".

We hope Samsung will post a fix to this soon.

As rumored before, Samsung should be launching its its Galaxy Note II phablet in more color versions. Red and brown have been spotted on a Japanese blog website.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II in red and brown have appeared in a magazine from South Korea, which probably means the two versions will be released there soon. We are not sure when it will be released in the US. As you may already know, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet should be also available in red starting next year.

Speaking of next year, Samsung could launch at lest three new Galaxy Note devices throughout it: Galaxy Note III with a 6.3 inch 1080p display, the GT-N5100 with a 7.7 inch display, and a giant 13.3 inch model. We are looking forward to see more details of those models.

If your read our earlier article, we have told you that Samsung has been pushing Android 4.1.1 to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 here in America.

The update's rolling out now OTA to Wi-Fi only devices with model# GT-N8013, but it should also be available via Samsung Kies. Simply go to Settings > About device > Software update or just hook up to your PC through USB to see if it's available on your end. After applying the update your tablet will be on software version UEUCMA3.

Seems like Samsung is working pretty hard to get everyone updates as soon as they can, so let's hope the same treatment will come to many more devices soon, now that's what we called good customer experience.

Samsung has officially announced additional cooler colors for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the name of these new colors are "amber brown" or "ruby wine", given how much success Samsung is having with the 5.5 inch phablet, it's a no brainer to add additional colors.

The S Pen will also get a matching paint job and will take the total number of colour options for the Galaxy Note II to four.

The new colors will be available to South Korean consumers sometimenext week.

Korea Times just coming out with rumors that the Galaxy Note III will be running Exynos 5 Octa, an eight-core processor, one chipset combines four high-performance cores with four low-consumption ones to achieve what Samsung describes as the best of all worlds.

Expected to be launching second half of 2013, the Galaxy Note III set to clock it at a whopping great 6.3 inches in size, blow away the 5.5 inch Samsung Galaxy Note II in terms of screen size, it would also be a little bigger than Huawei's Ascend Mate.

Do you think 6.3 inche screen is too big? Let me know in the comments below.

From GLBenchmark database, it seems like Samsung will likely to be releasing a version called Samsung Note 8. Specs including an 8-inch Super Clear display and a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and feature 2GB RAM, HSPA+ support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 5MP and 1.3MP cameras, 16 or 32GB internal memory, microSD card slot and of course, the same S Pen just like the other Galaxy Note models.

So how well the purported Galaxy Note 8.0 would do against the iPad mini will come down to price. Unfortunately, that's one piece of info that did not leak to SamMobile, so we'll just have to wait to find out how aggressively Samsung would price the tablet. $249 would be a possibility?

According to South Korea's iNews24. Samsung mobile head JK Shin confirms that the Galaxy Note 8-inch tablet will be coming at Mobile World Congress, very exciting indeed.

Mobile World Congress will be held next month in Barcelona, Spain. JK Shin didn't reveal any other details even as rumors have indicated that the tablet will come in 3G and Wi-Fi models with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 1280 x 800 display, 5-megapixel back camera, and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Also being rumored is the 1080p Galaxy S IV on the horizon, as well as an even larger successor to its Galaxy Note II phone, but neither of those are expected at Show next month. JK Shin seems to be telling us to expect the Samsung Galaxy 8-inch Note tablet to be Samsung's showpiece there, like the Galaxy Note 10.1 was at MWC in 2012.

According to reports, it will come in three types and these are the GT N5110, which has Wi-Fi only, the GT 5100, which has 3G connectivity and lastly, the GT N5105, which has 3G and LTE connectivity.

There is no definite word yet with regards to the pricing but anticipate the Galaxy Note 8 to sweep across Europe seamlessly. Moreover, expect Samsung not to overprice the Note 8 especially if it will go head on against the iPad mini, which starts at around $329. Folks are advised to keep guessing until the next Mobile World Congress on February 25th in Spain.

Sprint users will definitely be glad to receive firmware updates for their Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S III smartphones. These separate updates are expected to improve phone security and offer a few bug fixes.

Updating your Galaxy S III will also ensure better voicemail application and calendar syncing. The new firmware, by the L719VPMA6 update will also now be able to support 3-digit text messaging.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 2 will have better phone security once updated using the L900VPAMA7, which deters circumvention of Exynos security.

Updates for notifications may not be seen right away but you can always check manually. There are also plenty of forums and news will certainly come out if Sprint already releases firmware update packages for these two units over the air. But it definitely won't be too long until they come out.

Sprint's top five smartphones surprisingly does not include iPhone 5. Galaxy Note II is takes the lead on thebest-rated smartphones among customers. It received a score of 4.7 out of 5.0 and beat out other devices from other makers such as HTC and Motorola, among others.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Note II is also on top of Verizon's list for "most appreciated". Sprint offers the Note II on contract for $299.99, which can be quite expensive for some.

Others that made the top-5 list are the LG Optimus G and another Samsung product, the Galaxy S III, the iPhone 4S and the HTC Evo 4G LTE.

Time and again, Samsung has proven that they can beat out other brands of smartphones, despite the slew of lawsuits that it has weathered in the past few years and the allegations of other bigwigs that it has a penchant for stealing designs of components and devices.

Do you want to have the Samsung Galaxy Note II but without the steep price and the bond to pay a contract price? GooPhone will give you what you want for $160, but read this first before shelling out that much money for the GooPhone N2 Lite (Note II [Lite]?). GooPhone has been successfully replicating high-end devices to cater to lower-end markets. What's interesting is that it has even been able to clone devices prior to their announcement (take HTC One).

N2 looks so much like the original outside and it also has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720p HD. However, the GooPhone Company avoided possible repercussions on the N2 Lite by not totally replicating the original. Instead of using quad processors, like it has planned previously, the N2 Lite only has a dual-core processor, with 1GB memory.

It also has 4GB expandable internal memory, 3G connectivity, and a good 3,100 mAh battery to boot. The company is even planning to clone accessories with the announcement of a flip case for the N2. Do you think it's expensive or affordable at $160? You decide but only if you can get one shipped in from China.

Samsung loves to introduce new devices during Mobile World Congress season and another exciting announcement came just before the MWC. The Note 8.0 will apparently come with a stylus pen and is considered by many as the biggest phablet.

Could there be other "flagship" devices that we do not know of or have escaped the radar? Probably not but with the way things are building up, there are probably other exciting stuff that Samsung might share in the trading event.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with a 1280 x 800 touch display, front and rear cameras of 5MP and 1.3MP respectively, quad core processor at 1.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM and up to 32 GB internal storage. It will run on the latest Android Jelly Bean and will be available in stores Q2 of this year.

No word yet as to how much it will cost to get one of these but people will surely love this new tablet/phone with its high-power specs and the newest capabilities by the latest Jelly Bean.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 is touted to be the "biggest phablet" in the market and naturally, its accessories will mostly address its size and how to keep it safe from falling. The latest accessory to be introduced is the card dock, which helps you perch your phablet on the windshield.

While some like the new 8.0 accessory as it will help them with GPS navigation, possibly from an app from Google Play as well as hands-free calling, others don't like the idea that it will stare back at you while you are driving in all of its 8-inch glory. You will have to deal with that blind spot for as long as you want to keep your phablet perched on position.

Its glossy black finish is typical of other Samsung accessories, looks sleek and functional and the Galaxy Note 8.0 fits securely. It is sold separately and is a good addition to your stock accessories.

US Cellular has announced that the Galaxy Note 10.1 is now available for those who are interested at $499.99. The carrier formally launched their Note 10.1 devices last Feb 27 and it can be had under a 2-year contract plan. That plan has 2GB worth of mobile data. The carrier featured the tablet sans the LTE connectivity on its website back in February.

This device runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1, quad-core Exynos processor by Samsung that clocks in at 1.4 GHz each, 2GB RAM, front and rear cameras, 16GB internal memory that could be expanded by using microSD and a 7000mAh battery. It uses an S-pen stylus and comes with DropBox cloud. It is also offered on Verizon and Sprint, prior to US Cellular's announcement.

There are plenty of people who are waiting for this device but most will probably want to buy those that do not carry plans, considering the rate at which these tablets get replaced and/or updated.

Based on a report by DigiTimes, Samsung targets about 1 million sales a month for its 8-inch phablet. By saying this, the company assumes that it will surpass the success the Galaxy Note 5.0, which sold for an average of 900,000 units a month. Although this objective sounds feasible, we will still wait and see what consumers think about the 8-inch display, which many say is quite too big for a phablet.

Furthermore, although very few address this fact, Samsung devices may actually be competing with each other. People will more likely have to choose between a Galaxy Note II and a Galaxy Note 8.0. It is only very rarely that someone will buy both devices at once. If both devices become successful and Samsung reaches its goals for each, then it means different markets exist for the 5- and 8-inchers.

Finally, to achieve 1 million monthly sales, Samsung also has to consider if the future Galaxy Note III will affect sales of the Note 8.0. Only time will tell.

A leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 shows that it also comes in black. The 8-incher that was introduced in last week's Mobile World Congress was a white marble Note 8. This device is Samsung's answer to the Apple iPad mini and it comes with a stylus or the S Pen, possibly for illustration and other features.

Another cool feature of the Galaxy Note 8.0 is the Smart Stay that allows your tablet to recognize if you are still up. It will automatically go on standby, once you sleep or stop using it. The user interface is seamless and very responsive.

Many people are quite happy with the black Note 8, but some still need a bit of convincing because of the polycarbonate plastic build, instead of glass. Furthermore, some do not like the 1280x800 resolution, which is quite short for good movie watching. However, this is enough with good gaming already.

A minor loophole that allows one to bypass the locked screen of the Galaxy Note 2 has been revealed. This could temporarily let you in past the lock screen security, in case you forgot how it goes.

For you to be able to go beyond the lock screen security, hit the "emergency call" button and then tap "emergency contacts". Hold the home button and you will temporarily see the home screen, long enough for you to make a shortcut call on the home screen. This will then render the lock screen security ineffective.

It will revert back to the locked screen if you do not have a shortcut call on your home screen but this can also compromise your email or short messages for as long as it does not go back to the locked screen. Although this is a potential way to breach one's privacy, it is not as worse as other vulnerabilities found in some smartphones and other devices.

Samsung Galaxy S 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by US Cellular will finally be updated to the MB1 build. This includes a few improvements and additions to the present build and promises an upgrade to the latest Android Jelly Bean.

The S 3 will most possibly have some bugs fixed and a few enhancements on audio during streaming. There will also be some additional capabilities for the camera, which will appeal to those who love continuous shooting.

On the other hand, there is no information given as to what upgrades or additions will be provided to the Note 2, since it already runs on the latest Jelly Bean. Also, it should be easier to flash Samsung devices when the update finally goes over the air. As such, always back up your phone and ensure that you got your phone's version correctly prior to downloading anything.

Another anticipated device from Samsung aside from the Galaxy S 4 is the upcoming Galaxy Note 3. This device is popular among people who love smartphones that have bigger screens. According to SamMobile, the company will replace its popular AMOLED display with a high quality LCD made by Sharp. It can be recalled that Samsung acquired a stake in the company and is now banking on the components that are produced by Sharp.

The main reason for the switch is because the S-Pen might be better off with the LCD screen. Furthermore, it is said that the panels produced by Sharp are said to be the best. Other than that, a possible reason for the use of LCD display, instead of AMOLED could be because Samsung needs to concentrate production of panels for the Galaxy S 4. Whatever the reason, if it makes the device perform better, then it's all good.

Rumors about the Galaxy Note 3 have started surfacing days before the big reveal on the Galaxy S 4 on the 14th. SamMobile, the trusty herald of juicy Samsung news, reports that the company is still unsure about the type of display that it will use on the Galaxy Note 3. This device is pretty popular and could even potentially unseat the S 4 with regards to sales because it has a large following.

According to rumors, Samsung plans to replace the smooth OLED-based display with super high quality LCD display from Sharp. It can be noted that Samsung has acquired interest over Sharp's screen display enterprise.

One possible advantage to this "news" is that the S-Pen actually sits well with the newer LCD panels and this could actually be a good thing for the Note 3. Also, it is not necessarily a big step backwards because LCD technology has improved since. However, it may affect the range of colors that the Note 3 panel can actually display.

Samsung and Apple have always been in a tight race to smart devices supremacy and each has attracted droves of following all over the world. Each company will take a swipe at each other whenever they can and it's interesting and definitely most entertaining. The latest? Samsung thinks Note 8.0 is better than the iPad Mini because of several reasons.

According to the Korean giant, the Note 8.0 is waaaay better because it has a quad processor, is capable of multi-tasking, and has a stylish stylus! (Cheer!) It even went out of its way to create a poster for the jab aimed at the Apple A Pad Mini. It's also possible that they were talking about a different brand of device.

Kidding aside, Samsung has really topped its performance with high-profile devices and innovative technologies. It is so successful that even Google is already taking notice of its important niche in the Android market. With that said, here's hoping they'll hire a new publicist or a marketing manager who has better grammar next time.

Samsung seems to be targeting a specific market with the first medical hub that it has opened in its hometown. It appears that the Galaxy Note 10.1 will come with specific hardware and applications that medical students and professionals will be able to use.

An anatomy app will be available and the S-Pen will actually be used to highlight specific areas, which will allow students and professors to use it in school and in work. This can actually be a conduit for some medical books to reach a good number of medical health professionals in the industry.

It is quite expensive because it will retail in South Korea for around $720 and early birds will even get free accessories to use with their devices.

Samsung releases a photo that hints on a 6.3-inch device. As to whether this will be Note III or a different one remains in question. The poster shows a photo of the Game Pad and specifically states that it is available in 4-6.3-inch sizes. Samsung does not have this type of device at present although rumors have been around that the next Galaxy Note will be offered with a whopping 6-inch display and this just might be the first of, we're sure, many hints, from Samsung and other speculators.

Also, we are unsure if Samsung means that the Game Pad will come in various sizes or if it will come in an expandable unit that can carry devices 4-6.3-inch in size. This accessory allows anyone to enjoy their games with action buttons, a dual-analog stick and the works. In the meantime, let's just wait for more hints and juicy info on the upcoming Galaxy Note III.

In the following weeks or months, the next most anticipated device from Samsung, the Galaxy Note III, will get its fair share of rumors and news until it gets launched. First up is its pilot testing, which will be attended by AT&T executives, according to Koreatimes insider.

A prototype will be demonstrated in front of a select panel, including the Chief Marketing Officer for the US carrier. New marketing strategies will reportedly be laid out for the 5.9-incher.

Although this proves the possible release of a new Galaxy Note version in the near future, others are quite peeved because a rumor is going on that another phablet was going to be introduced that was 6.7 inches in size.

Others think that Samsung should focus more on their core high-end products than setting out to create various versions for their mid- and low-range clients and making various sizes of their devices. Whatever the Korean giant's plan is with the Note 3 still remains to be seen and should be revealed to us little by little in "staged" or even "accidental" leaks, much like it was with the S 4. Just sit tight.

Samsung might just introduce new flagship devices on the yearly Berlin electronics event, the IFA. It also looks like that would be the event where the Galaxy Tab 3 and Note 3 will both be unfolded, since no news on the exact date of their announcement exists yet. Furthermore, Samsung loves to introduce new products or technology on international trade events as part of their marketing campaign.

The next IFA will be held on first to second week of September and it looks to match the period or date that we heard from an insider that they will introduce these devices only on the second half of 2013.

These devices are also expected to draw in crowds as many as those who attended the S 4 unveiling last March 14th.

The Tab 3 might also have two variants, like what has been going on for a while now on the rumor mill. On the other hand as opposed to earlier reported rumors that the Note 3 will go over 6 inches, it will only measure 5.9 inches, based on the prototype that will be revealed to AT&T execs later this week.

UK will finally meet the new and highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 8.0 next month, according to Carphone Warehouse, one of the biggest online mobile vendors in the UK. Although no word was given as to how much the Note 8.0 will be offered, it is confirmed to be coming to UK on the said month. On the other hand, another retailer, Handtec, released pricing info on the Note 8.0. The device will be available in their store for £371.99.

Another tablet, the ASUS Fonepad will also be distributed starting April in UK. No pricing details emerged but the devices runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Compared with the Galaxy Note 8.0, this tablet features lower specs and only comes with a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1 GB RAM and a 3.2 Megapixels rear cam. Whether or not you are a fan of the higher-end Note 8.0, which is said to be iPad Mini's rival, or the Fonepad, expect these devices to make waves in only a few more days, possibly even less than a week.
