- With today's announcement of the BlackBerry 10 platform and the high-end Z10 smartphone, BlackBerry (formerly RIM) showed that it doesn't have the slightest intention to play the silly specs game. The BlackBerry Z100 will neither have an octa-core processor, nor will it feature a 5" screen. Instead, the new flagship will keep things nice and compact, while still being powerful enough in order to deliver a perfectly smooth user experience. We approve.
LG Mobile recently released a teaser announcement that features a white gift box with a pink ribbon that is suggestive of the letter "L", which is a popular range of LG mobile products. While it does not actually mention the actual release of a particular gadget, one will naturally assume that it's going to be a new L-series smartphone. Around the same time last year, these series were introduced in the market at the Mobile World Congress.
The L-series are quite popular with LG patrons and within a year since the first handset of this range was released; already there are 6 handsets under this assortment.
In January, there was quite a buzz about new "tier-one handsets" that will be released for 2013. LG has always been underrated in mobile tech development and people are sure that there is some big announcement coming from them on the next Mobile World Congress.

Photos and a video of a Motorola smartphone have been leaked and it looks so much like a Google Nexus 4 device, save for the logo on the upper left portion. Also, it does not look to be the much-anticipated Motorola X phone, but possibly a mid-range device.
The back panel is slightly curved and has rounded edges and it surprisingly did not put Kevlar components, which is a defining characteristic for RAZR phones. Google cleaned out the Moto UI but left the typical round clock widget.
The video shows the phone's responsiveness and it can still be greatly improved as it looks tacky when the phone is tilted on one side. The guy on the video even held out an iPhone, apparently to compare the size of the display screen, which is substantially bigger and wider than the iPhone's.
Judging from the improvement that Motorola has done in this prototype mid-range device's design and UI, it very much looks to have been influenced by Google and that the Motorola X is really something to look forward to.
Couple days ago, Google introduced a new entry to the ChromeOS family: the 11.6", Exynos 5-powered Samsung Chromebook. The price of this dual-core ultraportable laptpo is compeitive at $250, and it's really very practical for users who don't normally venture outside the web browser.

451Research on consumer smart phone survey shows an explosive wave of momentum is catapulting Samsung to its all-time high in a ChangeWave survey, even as Apple demand remains strong three months after the iPhone 5 release. The December 11-27, 2012 survey took a close-up look at North American smart phone trends, with 88% of the 4,061 respondents residing in the US.
The survey indicates that Samsung sales could see strong early gains in 2013, while interest in Apple's iPhone takes a hit. Samsung's Galaxy Note II in particular made a promising showing, meaning consumers are eager to wrap their hands around big screen devices.
Samsung posted an 8 percentage point game, bringing anticipated demand from 13 to 21 percent overall, much of a climb is "unprecedented" in their survey history. The Samsung Galaxy S III was the most desirable of Samsung handsets, with 69 percent of overall demand, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was a surprise hit, with 23 percent of all Samsung consumer interest. Overall, consumers reported considerable interest in "phablet" devices, with 27 percent reporting they wanted a screen that's at least 5-inches. The 4 to 4.9-inch category still rules with 52 percent of interest, but clearly, consumers are liking the idea of big screen phones.

Last week, there were rumors regarding Samsung dropping Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. But, today it's confirmed that Samsung will drop Samsung Galaxy tab 3 7.0 and will launching Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. But, the launch of this tablet depends upon the sales generated by Galaxy note 8.0. Another tablet by the name of Galaxy tab 3 10.1 is also in Samsung's plans and could any time this. Though, all these tablets will LTE versions too which is good news for all the tablet users. But, they would be required to pay a higher cost for buying LTE version.
Furthermore, Samsung is also working upon Galaxy Tab Plus too; it would be somewhat a special tablet from Samsung and would be releasing some time in this current year. Till then we have to wait and see what these tablets really possess and look like.

Rumors confirmed that the Galaxy S4 smartphone could be released in April. yesterday's article, we also included two photos of "an internal raffle doc at a New Zealand mobile retailer," saying that all the winners of a prize would be awarded with a Samsung Galaxy S4 handset.
SamMobile has reported that in a bid to have more control on updates and sales, and to know exactly how many devices has been sold in all countries, Samsung is planning to start the new update service.
"Samsung's plan is to stop the retailers that are shipping, for example, French-based software devices to The Netherlands. Samsung won't give devices updates if you bought a phone outside your home country," the report has said.
"This could mean retailers need to pay more for devices and the prices could go higher. Also, customers could have to wait longer on their new devices. So far we can conclude from our information that Samsung will start to test this way but no longer by notification trough OTA (over-the-air)," according to SamMobile.
What does this all mean for Samsung, retailer and customer?
Samsung
- - Control of updates in each country. (faster way of updates)
- - Exact sales numbers.
- - Could bring the price up / down if needed or cancel device that do not sell well.
- - Retailer must ship country based devices otherwise customer isn't able to update.
- - Retailer shop price could be more expensive.
- - Delay in new device.
- - Customer isn't able to update their device outside the country of origin.
- - Price can be higher.
Samsung always registers trademarks for potential devices and most of these "potential handsets" don't get to be launched in the market. Moreover, when a series kicks off and is successful, the tech giant is always on its toes to trademark names for their follow-up devices. Recently, Samsung registered names of a few potential smartphones, which include Galaxy and ATIV devices. Hopefully, we get to see them pretty soon.
Some of the prospective devices under the Galaxy S series that were listed and registered in the US are Kit, Mate, Impact and Act. On the other hand, it also registered trademark for ATIV Zexy in the UK. No word yet as to whether this ATIV device is going to be a smartphone, tablet or a PC. It is actually suggestive of a new spin-off from ATIV S to ATIV Z or it could also very well be an entirely different device.

Samsung has recently ventured into making medical device equipment and these products have eventually crossed over to integration with Samsung smartphones. According to a source, the S IV will have a health pad accessory that measures pulse and blood pressure. You'll notice the trend on health awareness combined with mobile tech with all the accessories and gadgets that are coming out this year and of course, Samsung is quick to jump in the craze.
This will also probably come with a health-related application where in you can sync your device and monitor the results. People will really watch over this move by Samsung and only time will tell if this trend will carry on and if an entirely new and different market will emerge and create demand for such health devices.
In the meantime, let's wait and see if Samsung Galaxy S IV will have this feature. It might be the start of something big.

A batch of test photos for the latest Samsung Galaxy S IV has been leaked, confirming in some way the 13MP rear camera. The photos registered a resolution of 4128 x 2322, which a 9.6 MP and a 13MP can take. It has also been divulged that it will introduce a feature called Orb, which enables 360-deg panorama shots.
A Samsung engineer allegedly states that the Orb may be better than the Photo Sphere and that the camera will have Facebook and Twitter integration. The photos have since been taken down from the Google+ account where they have been grabbed.
Also, there are unconfirmed reports the Galaxy S IV will likely use the Sony Exmor RS sensor, which is what Sony uses for its top-of-the-line smartphones. If this report were true, HDR imaging and recording will be possible and better quality on images taken in low light.

Rumors have been circulating on the internet for several days now that Samsung is planning to shift their interest in acquiring a new processor for the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 from their own Exynos Chips to external sources. This might become a very big disappointment since Galaxy fans won't be seeing the supposedly eight-core Exynos Octa powerhouse in action.
Analysts can actually confirm these rumors. According to them, Samsung may be looking for external sources because Galaxy S3 production was not expected to be prolonged by a quarter of a year. The delays can also be attributed to certain power-related issues that have been seen on the Exynos Octa.
Analysts also believe that the Qualcom will be handling most of Galaxy S4 production. If Samsung will confirm this rumor then it might be safe to assume that the Galaxy S4 will be powered by the Snapdragon 600 which may turn heads towards Samsung from the competition.

Samsung loves to introduce new devices during Mobile World Congress season and another exciting announcement came just before the MWC. The Note 8.0 will apparently come with a stylus pen and is considered by many as the biggest phablet.
Could there be other "flagship" devices that we do not know of or have escaped the radar? Probably not but with the way things are building up, there are probably other exciting stuff that Samsung might share in the trading event.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 comes with a 1280 x 800 touch display, front and rear cameras of 5MP and 1.3MP respectively, quad core processor at 1.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM and up to 32 GB internal storage. It will run on the latest Android Jelly Bean and will be available in stores Q2 of this year.
No word yet as to how much it will cost to get one of these but people will surely love this new tablet/phone with its high-power specs and the newest capabilities by the latest Jelly Bean.

The Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G (LTE) is now available on Virgin Mobile. This smartphone was previously launched on Sprint last year and it is available on Virgin for roughly $300 off-contract.
It is a sensible mid-range smartphone, which has a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocking in at 1.2GHz per core and 1 GB memory. The internal storage of 4GB may be expanded to an additional 32GB using microSD. It has ample display at 4 inches as well as front and back cameras. Main camera is at 5MP.
It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, different from what Sprint offers. Plans for unlimited data with messaging for Virgin can be had for as little as $35/month, which is very affordable and can be quite tempting for many who are looking for an LTE phone with NFC support.

A Samsung Galaxy S IV had just performed an Antutu benchmark and revealed the specifications of the device. According to a new AnTuTu test, here's what the Galaxy S4 will have to offer:
- 4.99-inch display with 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution
- 1.8GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU
- 16/32GB of storage
- 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video recording
- 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 4.0
- NFC
- GPS, A-GPS
- LTE support
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Snapdragon 600 or Exynos Octa? we were facing this dilemma and the issue seems to be difficult to clarify though now seems clear that the versions of the Galaxy S4 will be two: one with the Qualcomm processor and a processor with Samsung.

HTC President Mike Woodward was interviewed by the Business Insider and unabashedly mentioned that HTC was quite pleased that the Samsung Galaxy S 4 offered a rather boring design and without much any innovation. Although he also acknowledged the Galaxy S 4's numerous software add-ons, but then cited after that these are more gimmicky than they are groundbreaking.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Korean company is spending too much on creating hype and admittedly said that HTC is no match for Samsung when it comes to ad and marketing campaigns. However, he thinks that their flagship phone the HTC One will stand a chance against the S 4, specs-wise. Well, we can't wait until the device is shipped to see what's in store for HTC fans who would love a good come-back story for the company.
Samsung introduces new colors of the S 3 Mini in the UK, following a successful launch of its flagship device last March 14th. Carphone Warehouse reports that it has added a white S 3 Mini called La Fleur, with its flower decals on the side and they have also included Garnett Red on their selection.
Samsung has been known to introduce various colors for its devices to cater to the young and hip. This just goes to show that the company is really keen on updating its products, whether or not they are flagship, mid-range or low-end devices.
The S 3 Mini in these new colors will set you back monthly around £12.50 for six months and £25 thereafter. Phone costs £269.99 without a contract if you do not like getting tied to a particular carrier too long.

Pantech, another Korean-based tech giant has recently revealed more details about their flagship smartphone, the Vega Iron, which is set to directly compete with the Samsung Galaxy S 4. It is said to be a bezel-less device, something that not one (or possibly only a handful) have perfected.
There are plenty of news about bezel-less devices coming out from LG, Motorola, and even Samsung but so far, only Pantech Vega Iron has made a lot of noise as a possible competitor to the S 4. It will purportedly feature a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM and a 13-MP rear camera.
According to My Drivers, the Pantech Vega Iron will be a little narrower than the S 4 but the bezel-less display will more than make up for the deficit in width (as compared to the S 4). Furthermore, a launch date is indicated on the invitation shown by My Drivers, which will be held on April 18th. If we are lucky enough, the Vega Iron will be distributed outside Korea.
Let's hope we'll get our share of Vega Iron units, especially if it really is as spectacular as they claim it to be.

Thanks to AndroidPolice, there's currently a great deal running on eBay on the Galaxy S3 unlocked. White and red are already sold out, but the blue and black variants are still available.
If you don't plan on getting the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S3 is the great choice for the price. Samsung Galaxy S3 is still a very capable handset that will likely continue to be well supported by Samsung over the coming months as far as software updates are concerned.
Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Samsung says the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 was "built to be the leading 10-inch tablet in the market." However, the fact that its 10.1 inch display only has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution doesn't go too well with the "leading" part. Anyway, other features include: LTE connectivity, 3MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, a 6,800 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a dual-core 1.6GHz processor. The processor manufacturer wasn't unveiled, but it's most probably Intel.

Verizon Pushing Out VRBMF1 Update to Samsung Galaxy S3, to addresses connectivity ussues. The update seems to fix the connectivity issues, judging from comments left by Verizon Galaxy S3 users on the same site.
Users are reporting faster speeds and say that things seem to have returned to normal. The update seems to be just a small bug fix, without any other enhancements, but, if you've been facing the issues, it most certainly makes a huge difference.
We have yet to find change log documents that detail changes, however, the update was small enough that it likely is a bug fixer.
To get the update, just gointo Settings>About phone>Software update.
Thanks to Droid-Life for this.
Samsung is planning to deck up its 4.3-inch Galaxy S4 Mini in three new color options, as a refresh from the drab black and white they're already sold in. These include Arctic Blue, Ruby Wine (red), and Brown Autumn.
Samsung also plans to offer its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 in two color options of its own, Garnet Red and Gold Brown. Galaxy S4 Mini should roll out in its new trims in the week of August 26, while Galaxy Tab 3 should roll out in its shiny new trims in the week of September 30.
To Recap, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini features a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU, 1.5GB of RAM, a 4.3″ qHD (540 x 960 pixels) display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB storage expandable via microSD cards, Wi-Fi, HSPA+, LTE and NFC connectivity, a 1,900mAh battery, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0. Samsung's Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note II each scored 84 on a scale of 100 in a smartphone brand study by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. They beat out a trio of Apple's phones-the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, which each got an 82, and the iPhone 4, which received an 81.
This is the ACSI's first study of individual smartphones, and the marginally higher scores of the Galaxy phones come at a time when Apple's iPhones are nearly due for a refresh, probably in September.
Apple is allegedly strongly pushing its development of the new iOS 7 platform, which aims to breathe new life into the aging mobile OS. It is rumored to coincide with the development of a new iPhone 5S model alongside a budget iPhone line, which should ideally give Apple a resurgence in the innovation department that's become characteristic of the Cupertino-based tech giant.
Unlike Apple, which has a smartphone-only lineup, Samsung offers both feature and smartphones. At 76, Samsung continues to lag Apple for overall customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, the company's 7% gain in 2013 is a clear reflection of the strength of Galaxy S III.
Samsung has now introduced a 6 1/2-minute video that takes us through everything from the new design to all the unique software features like Air Command.
- [ Design, Specification & Performance ]

Samsung released another catchy video ad because of its Galaxy Note 3. A couple of days after outing an industrial with Leo Messi, the Korean giant's marketing department took another, craftier approach to showcasing the Android powerhouse.
The most recent Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ad is London-themed. It showcases S-Pen the skills of the phablet having a pop-up book and stop motion animation.
This video is on-air in Piccadilly, London. The book is designed by David A. Carter, an American author and illustrator best know for Bugs series.
Samsung Galaxy Round is the first flexible display smartphone in the world that entered the market this year, and Samsung has released a new TV ad to highlight its main feature, the curved screen.

- Android Jelly Bean 4.3

Samsung prepping two new 64-bit Exynos processors for CES 2014, Samsung is going to hold an Exynos-related press conference at CES on January 7 in Las Vegas, and it's expected to unveil two new processors, both of these will be octa-core, and both will be 64-bit, a move that sees Samsung once again closely follow tech trends imposed by Apple's first 64-bit smartphone few months ago.
Thehttps://news.mydrivers.com/1/287/287960.htm Exynos 6 chipset will be based on ARM's Cortex-A50 architecture. It'll have four Cortex-A57 performance-focused cores, and 4 Cortex-A53 battery-friendly cores. Clearly, these should energy up and lower (and increase and lower) when needed, with respect to the current workload.
The Exynos S chipset uses Samsung's own core designs, and also the only thing we all know about this yet is it too is going to be 64-bit. It might be octa-core too, however that info hasn't been leaked yet.
The interesting part is the fact that based on MyDrivers, the Exynos 6 will outshine the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with a factor of just one.53x. The Exynos S is a little behind, however it too will have the ability to be 1.43x faster than Qualcomm's best.

Samsung has received a couple of patents displayed on the Korean patent information website called KIPRIS. These new patents probably likely to be embeded into new interface for the GALAXY S5.
Samsung has received patents for one handed operation on big smartphones. According to the patent Samsung gives everyone the opportunity to choose which corner they want to use this function. Customers are now able to use one hand and select all kinds of functions such as apps, notifications or favorite calls. We have to say that this looks pretty smart to use on big smartphones with huge displays!
Secondly Samsung received patents on probably their new music interface which is deeply integrated with social media. If we will see this application called "Friends Music" back on the GALAXY S5 remains the question.
According to the latest rumours will Samsung introduce the GALAXY S5 on day before MWC 2014.
Thanks SamMobile for this update
There are leaks going around right now by the super leaker @evleaks that Samsung is expected to unveil two smartwatches at the Unpacked event. Interestingly, @evleaks says that these watches lose the Galaxy branding, which suggests that these could be powered by Tizen and adds some weight to the previous report.
Check the images above, the watch on the left is supposed to supersede the original Galaxy Gear with a compact design and better placement of a camera while the one on the right seems to be the health-centric device.
Samsung launched a new version of TouchWiz with the Galaxy S5, one that features a cleaner layout, flatter icons and an overall modern look, it also provide a new version of Drivemode.
Dutch website Kopengalaxys5 has just leaked the very first image showing off the flat Drive Mode interface. The interface that the Drivemode provides is also a much simpler one to have you distracted from driving as less time as possible. You can also activate voice control by saying "Hi Galaxy". The Samsung Galaxy S5 will become available world wide sometime during April this year.

The Xperia C670X is making a buzz among gossip mongers and it is said to rival the Galaxy S 4 with its Snapdragon 600 processor and 1080pixels screen. This rumored device was not announced on the Mobile World Congress. The devices that were introduced in the MWC were the Xperia ZL and the Xperia Z with the model names C650X and C660X, respectively.
According to a Sony informant, who confirmed the possibility of a C670X, a reported HTML 5 benchmark diagnostics showed a C680X, which is possibly another high-powered device from Sony. As with the C670X, it might be something to rival the likes of the HTC One with its processor and chipset.
It will also have an Exmore RS 13MP camera and will run on the latest Android Jelly Bean. Furthermore, an image of the rumored device was leaked but the authenticity was not verified.
While many welcome high-powered devices from Sony, others are not too excited about the fact that there are multiple flagship and high-powered devices all at once.

HP joins the tablet-manufacturing bandwagon and another Android tablet will hit the market under the name of Slate 7. It will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, instead of the webOS, which just goes to show how Android has totally killed smaller operating systems and has left a lot of companies with no choice but to switch to their platform.
The Slate 7 (for 7 inches), priced at $169 is a lot more affordable than its closest competitor the Asus Nexus 7 and it features a dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor that clocks in at 1.6 GHz with 1 GB memory. It has 8GB internal and an expandable storage using a microSD card. It has front and rear cameras and its audio is powered by Beats.
Although it has a lower resolution display as compared to the Asus tablet and it is a good entry-level tablet for those who don't care to update their operating systems each time. It also comes with an HP application that allows you to print-an excellent value for the price.
Some more details about the Google Nexus 10 tablet are been rumored around the web, according to the semi-conductor focus website BrightSide of New, Google will be showing off a Galaxy Nexus 10 tablet at Mobile World Congress. If rumors are true, the next-gen Nexus tablet will sport a quad-core processor and new 8-core Mali-T678 GPU, 4 million pixel, 300ppi resolution would suffice to choke even the best mobile can offer.
According to the people we spoke with, the new Nexus 10 addresses that with a significant increase in "digital horsepower", moving from a dual-core to a multi-core design, with the T604 GPU core being replaced with an 8-core T628 GPU. If our sources hold true, the Nexus 10 refresh might be the first design out the door packing the Mali T678 GPGPU chip. This chip supports from a single to an 8-core design with all the bells and whistles one might come to expect from a desktop 2013 GPU.
If these sources are correct, the device could be on display at MWC, but may not ship for months, the earliest introduction of Google Nexus 10 is expected at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona. We don't know of pricing yet but it'll likely hover around the same price as the original, or probably a little bit higher.
