Find out if your Samsung device is listed in today's firmware updates. If it is listed, just make sure that you go through this tutorial on how to flash Android firmware updates onto your device manually with Odin 3 first, before proceeding.
Samsung has recently filed a patent for "Hello," which seems to be an AI powered software of some sort, just like Bixby. The filing was done with the European Intellectual Property Office and it has created quite a bit of confusion. Previously, it was thought that Bixby was going to be the name of Samsung's upcoming voice assistant, which will likely make its debut with the Galaxy S8 next month. If Bixby is still coming, then where does Hello fit in?
This could mean one of two things; either Bixby has been replaced by Hello, or they are both AI powered services which will cater to different needs of the user. However, from the description of the patent, it seems like Hello is a digital AI assistant.
"application software that gives personalized features and information based on user's preferences in the fields of weather, music, entertainment, games, travel, science, health, contact, and social news via voice command and voice recognition."
To be honest, "Hello" feels like a more natural name to a voice assistant than Bixby and that's probably what Samsung might finally be going with.

The Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Tab 3 from Samsung may be old, but they have not yet been forgotten. While an OS upgrade to even Lollipop is not exactly on the cards (at least not officially that is) for the two aged devices, T-Mobile is currently rolling out the latest February security patch to them. It is always good to see carriers and OEMs remembering their old devices once in a while.
If you are still using any of the two legacy devices on T-Mobile, the OTA update should hit your phone or tablet any time now. Firmware version M919UVSFQA1 comes in for the Galaxy S4, while the Galaxy Tab 3 gets updated to T217TUVSBQA1.
In the meanwhile, if you have an old smartphone that you want to update but Samsung isn't really likely to roll one out for you anytime soon, head over to our firmware section for a wide list of custom ROM updates.

Android firmware updates and custom ROMs for the Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy A3, Galaxy A7 and many other Samsung handsets are here for the day. Choose the one that's right for your handset, but before flashing it, go through our tutorial for a safe experience.
Although most of us were expecting the S8 series to get an upgrade in terms of battery size, it's not happening, according to a report from South Korea, brought forward by The Android Soul. The battery capacity of the regular S8 will remain at 3,000mAh, which is the same as the Lithium ion cell currently powering the Galaxy S7. More surprisingly, the S8 Plus will feature an even smaller 3,500mAh battery than the S7 Edge's 3,600mAh cell. It should be noted that this puts the battery capacity of the S8 Plus at exactly the same size as the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. The batteries will be manufactured and supplied mainly by Samsung SDI with supplemental supplies from Murata.
It is being guessed that Samsung probably opted out of choosing a bigger battery in order to ensure safety. If this news is indeed true and you are worried about battery life on the S8 smartphones, it might help to know that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip which will be powering the handset is going to be the most power-efficient one yet. Nevertheless, we admit that it is a bit disappointing to know that the batteries are not getting an upgrade.
