Looks like HTC will bring its Mid-range 64-bit Smartphone first, before it high end 64-bit (if any). HTC has officially announced that it's first 64-bit smartphone will be the mid-range Desire 820.

This has been officially confirmed via the HTC Weibo account though details are very scarce all the teaser images really say is "64-bit" and "September,4th". The first image lists off the HTC firsts first Android phone, first 1080p phone, first f/2.0 camera aperture and so on.

The second image is more interesting and shows what appears to be the front-facing camera, off to the side of a front-facing speaker grill. Our Chinese is spotty but that big "64" is hard to misinterpret.

The short text accompanying the second teaser image claims this is the "world's first octa-core 64-bit phone". If it's a Qualcomm chipset then it must be the Snapdragon 615 - it has eight Cortex-A53 cores (the 64-bit replacement of the Cortex-A7) and a next-gen Adreno 405 GPU.

At various times this year, we told you about a tablet that is rumored to be under production by HTC. Various code names have been bandied about for this tablet, including HTC Flounder, and Volantis. But the most important name that this slate could be called, is the Nexus 9. What is interesting, is that the tablet has received its Wi-Fi certification, and according to the certificate, the operating system on the slab will be Android L.

In addition, the certificate shows that the filing was made in the "Tablet (Wi-Fi and other)" section as opposed to the Wi-Fi Only section. That would seem to indicate that HTC will be offering both a Wi-Fi only model, and a model with LTE connectivity.

The HTC tablet rumored to be the Nexus 9, is believed to have an 8.9 inch screen with resolution of 2048 x 1440. The pixel density at that combination works out to be 281ppi. A 64-bit Tegra K1 CPU is under the hood, with 2GB of RAM inside. Buyers will have the option of purchasing the model with either 16GB or 32GB of native storage, with pricing at $399 and $499, respectively. This would explain the pair of SKU numbers listed on the certificate.

HTC has announced the Butterfly 2 for the Asian markets. The phone was previously launched on KDDI in Japan as the J Butterfly but will now be available in other Asian markets, including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

The HTC Butterfly 2 has a 5.0-inch, Full HD display, Snapdragon 801 SoC with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage space, microSD card slot, HTC Duo Camera with 13 megapixel main sensor with f/2.0, 28mm lens and additional depth sensor on the back, 1080p video recording, 5 megapixel front camera, water and dust resistant body, 2700mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Butterfly 2 also has HTC's BoomSound speakers. On top of that, HTC has collaborated with Harman Kardon to come up with the LiveStage Signal Processing Technology. The device will be go on sale on September,2nd.

HTC seems to be preparing a Windows Phone 8.1 Edition of the HTC One M8. Verizon posted a high-quality render images on its official website of the phone

These image confirms the existence of an UltraPixel Duo rear camera with dual LED flash, so the Windows Phone 8.1 variant of the One M8 certainly seems to be identical to the Android model just as previously reported. The upcoming handset should offer a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, BoomSound speakers, a 5 MP front-facing camera, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage space. Like the Android-based One M8, the Windows version is made out of metal, and supports HTC's Dot View case.

We're expecting HTC to announce the One M8 for Windows next week, on August,19th. The handset could be available to buy via Verizon as soon as August 21st, for an unknown price.

We all know HTC Android skins (Sense) and Apps, they're smart, clean and elegant. Sadly, these Apps and skins are only available for HTC devices... but this is about to change. A Report from Recode, indicates that HTC wants its own-build software to be available for the rest of Android devices.

HTC Creative Labs has started to develop apps for Android phones in general, not just HTC, the labs first products is "HTC Zoe" which has the power to stitch together up to 16 videos or images with your own soundtrack. We hope to see more and more HTC Apps available for Android smartphones in general, Especially HTC Blinkfeed and HTC Sense 6 launcher.

The new Zoe App will come out later this week, with more to follow, as the Creative Labs team plans to release other HTC apps from its own phones' confines in the future.
