oneplus nord

OnePlus used an untraditional platform to announce a feature pack of its next device. Usually, phone manufacturers use Twitter to share news, leaks, or updates about their mobile phones or products. But recently OnePlus uploaded a new teaser on Instagram. The new revelation comes just before a few days of the launch of the next OnePlus phone. As per the Instagram post, OnePlus Nord will come with preloaded with Google's Duo, Messages, and phone apps. The company has already revealed that the OnePlus Nord uses an Android-based Oxygen OS. Some of its key specs have already been leaked or confirmed previously. The company called it a flagship killer phone as it will notably the most affordable phone by the company.

As per the teaser video posted on Instagram, the OnePlus Nord has to offer the smoothest experience possible due to these integrated Google apps. Some of the other phones including the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are using the proprietary alternatives to Google apps and come with the company's software used for dialer and SMS messaging instead. The latest flagships, however, seems to stick with the default options to offer an improved user experience.

The OnePlus Nord will be running OxygenOS, which is known for providing an almost bloatware-free, Android-like experience. With the default Google apps, the OnePlus Nord will be able to offer rich communication services functionality to users. In another video on Instagram, OnePlus has highlighted that the OnePlus Nord would have a tough build that would resist drop, shock, and water. The phone will, however, not come with an Ingress Protection (IP) certification, as confirmed by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei in an interview with YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD).

The recent teasers have also highlighted the earlier rumors that the OnePlus Nord will feature a quad-camera system at the rear side, with a 48-megapixel primary camera that also comes with optical image stabilization. The phone features a 90Hz AMOLED display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The device will be powered by a reasonably huge 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. For the front camera, you get a 32-megapixel primary sensor. The OnePlus Nord launch is scheduled for 7:30 pm IST on Tuesday. Alongside the new smartphone, OnePlus is launching its first truly wireless (TWS) earbuds that are called the OnePlus Buds.

mate 30 Pro

Huawei has launched its next flagship smartphone - Mate 30 Pro in Berlin. The only problem is that the phone can't be sold in Germany or anywhere in Europe due to the security ban by the Trump administration. The Mate 30 Pro has a cutting-edge curved display, a more powerful processor, and more cameras than iPhone 11 but it is practically useless without Google's Android software. That means you can't have YouTube, Google maps, Google app store, or any app available on it.

Huawei said that it will provide some workaround to enable users to download some of the apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix. But Huawei knows that people won't buy it without these apps that's why it is not even being launched in western European countries. This could hinder some serious damage on the Huawei sales figure this year. Huawei is the second large smartphone manufacturer of Android smartphone after Samsung. The company was planning to be the number one by 2020 before it got hit by a security ban by Trump.

The Trump admin is also trying to get other countries to block the Huawei's 5G mobile network equipment. The previously released phones are still getting the software update for some time to enable users to have the time to switch to another phone manufacturer. In China, this band didn't affect much because the Chinese people don't use these apps and have alternative apps for years. The company has started to work its smartphone software called HarmonyOS but it may take years to match the Android's functionality and popularity.

While Mate 30 has the cutting-edge hardware to beat the latest iPhone, the company is facing a problem to get the attention of consumers due to the unpredictable situation after the ban. "Huawei has Apple soundly beaten when it comes to form-factor design but even these beautiful looking devices are going to struggle to see any volume without the Google ecosystem," Richard Windsor, a mobile analyst, said in a note this week.

huawei p30 pro new edition

This is not new to anyone in the industry, but the Trump Administration has intentionally tried to hurt Chinese manufacturers and their business by placing these and its subsidiaries on the country's Entity list. That means that Chinese manufacturers like Huawei can't import products from US-based companies. This restriction was also imposed on software-based products as well. The immediate side effects of this trade ban are that many new Huawei and Honor smartphones can't use the Google Mobile Services, which includes the Google Play Store and Google Play Services.

This trade ban starts to imply on the smartphones being launched in late 2019 and early 202 flagship devices. Which includes the Huawei Mate 30 series and the Huawei P40 series. However, Huawei has found some unique way around this trade ban, which involves tweaking an existing already-certified model and then re-releasing it to the market. That's what the company seems to be working on right now with the upcoming Huawei P30 Pro New Edition. The smartphone in question was promoted on Huawei's consumer page in Germany. It previously launched a P30 Lite new Edition with Google Mobile Services.

This removes the limitation on Huawei - that can't get GMS certification for new phone models and can use the certification for only the existing model. Huawei can re-release and rebrand their existing phones as many times as they like. This is a quite flexible probation for them, too. They can add a few upgrades such as RAM, storage, and different variants of the camera module without trying to ship a new SoC. They can even change the final design of the finished product to make it look brand new. Based on the existing SoC, the phone will have a HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC since that will allow the company to retain the original P30 Pro's GMS certification. And we may have to see some new upgrades in terms of more storage, RAM, and design options.

Mobile phone tops the list of the most used gadgets by us every day. Right from the mail which can close a million-dollar deal to making the long distant video call, we rely on mobile phones very much. It can turn out very bad if these devices are left unprotected. There are various security apps other than antivirus apps which can help us to keep our mobile phones and the data stored in it to be safe and secure.

Some of the top security apps for Android phones are listed below:

Applock

This app is life-saver for many people. It works like the vault in banks. You can keep your photos and videos locked under it. Also, users can lock other apps such as Gmail, mobile and online casino gaming apps, internet banking apps and so on using Applock. You can use a secret PIN to access the files and apps. By this way, your mobile phone will have two layers of security. This app is available in the Google Play Store for free.

DuckDuckGo Search and Stories

In the world of internet where major conglomerates make use of the personal data of people, DuckDuckGo is a gem. This is a search engine like Google and Bing, but it does not track what you search online. If you are concerned about private companies accessing the information you surf on the internet, then DuckDuckGo is the perfect solution.

Find My Device by Google

Find My Device was earlier named as Android Device Manager. This app will help you to find your mobile phone. It can show you the location of the phone and you can also make the phone ring using this app. You can also remotely lock and erase the information stored on the phone. It does not have any ads and in-app purchases which makes it clutter free.

Firefox Focus

Firefox Focus is one of the most secure browsers out there. The app can be used to remove the advertisements and trackers to some extent ensuring more private browsing. The best part is that this app is also free.

Glass Wire

Glass Wire is one of the new best apps to track the data consumption effectively. It has the options for the players to see the data usage in terms of days, weeks, months and by individual apps. This can help the users to find any irregular activity of the apps in the background.

Resilio Sync

Resilio Sync will help you to create a safe cloud storage of your own. You can turn your PC or desktop into a cloud storage. In simple terms, it is like Google Drive. It can help the users in keeping the data under their control rather than trusting private companies.

LastPass

LastPass helps the users to save multiple sensitive passwords and restore it to the respective sites. All the passwords will be locked with a master password. This really helps if you visit a lot of sites or handle multiple accounts.

Jackpot Fruity has come up with the list of the above-mentioned non-antivirus apps which provide top security for all Android phones. Since the rate of cybercrime is increasing, security in mobile phones should be taken seriously as they contain sensitive data.

Mobile apps shot to popularity at an impressive rate during the early smartphone years around 2008, and it seemed that they would be around forever. Suddenly, users were able to click on the game or feature they wanted to use and have it instantly open and be ready in a matter of seconds. Apps were perfectly geared to the smaller mobile screen and were the ideal answer to the problem of having to painstakingly trying to view websites designed for desktop on the smaller screen.

Many businesses that didn't quickly get in on the app craze faded away, and those which did, flourished. But ten years on from the dramatic rise of apps, they could soon be about to decline. The advent of HTML5 means that apps aren't as essential as they once were, and they could easily become obsolete in the near future.

Record Low Number of Apps in App Store in 2017

Ever since the introduction of mobile apps and the opening of Apple's App Store in July 2008, the platform had never seen a decline in the number of apps available to consumers. That was until 2017, when Apple reported a drop in the number of apps available for the first time in the history of the marketplace. During 2017, the store shrank from 2.2 million apps at the start to 2.1 million by the end of the year. This doesn't sound like a considerable difference, but the fact that the platform had been growing each year up to that point makes it seem more relevant - and it is.

Granted, some of this decline is down to Apple deciding to scrap old apps which are no longer compatible with newer iPhones. But there are other factors in play. The internet has progressed at an astounding rate over the last ten years, and the web now a lot more advanced than it was when apps were first introduced. Businesses are now looking towards using other technology in their web design, along with progressive web apps. Native mobile apps as we know them now may no longer be as useful or essential as they once were. As seamlessly as apps first became an integral part of people's lives, they could soon disappear as swiftly.

Why are Apps on the Decline?

The main reason that apps could be on the decline is the emergence of HTML5, which is arguably the most efficient way of structuring and presenting content since the advent of the internet. With past versions of HTML, businesses needed to create completely different websites for desktop and mobile, while users of both also needed to install plugins for viewing certain content. This is why apps were used, because they made all this possible on mobile.

With HTML5, however, there are seamless transitions for websites between different platforms. Opening a company's website from a mobile or desktop screen provides the same, smooth experience. Because of this, businesses are realising that there is less of a need to create separate apps for mobile customers now. Because HTML5 is fairly new, some companies are choosing to continue running apps while also updating their websites with the new markup language. Amazon, LinkedIn and Box.net have already flocked to HTML5, while still offering apps for certain services. On the other hand, sites like The Guardian have kept their mobile apps, but also updated the website with HTML5 to allow mobile users to access it that way. For many, third-party mobile apps pose a problem, if they're using a company-owned phone, which is why companies like Wink Bingo are using browser-based mobile apps to circumvent this issue. Apps are likely to continue to exist while the transition is completed, but after that, there might not be much need for them in the way we know now. Instead, there is likely to be a move towards a newer, sleeker kind of app known as the progressive web app.

Is the Future Bleak for Apps? What do the Experts Say?

The emergence of HTML5 does make it seem like the future is bleak for apps, as a lot of the things that made them so popular in the first place are not unique to them anymore. Yet, it is still useful for mobile users to be able to see the various different games and services available to them on their home screens. Being able to click on the thing you want to use and have it open instantly will always be a popular method of using mobile. This is far superior to having a number of different tabs open on your mobile browser, for instance. John Watton, the marketing director at Adobe, has also insisted that good mobile apps are vital to boosting repeat visits. However, this can also be achieved with progressive web apps, which also have an icon on the mobile device's home screen.

In the US, the number of app installs since 2014 is down by 38 percent, while there has also been a 28 percent decrease in apps opened. These figures could suggest that users are less interested in apps, but also that companies are more focused on using newer methods such as HTML5. Experts believe that in the not so distant future, progressive web apps will take over the market and serve as a happy medium bridging traditional apps and websites. According to Andrew Gazdecki, the founder and CEO of Bizness Apps, progressive web apps are more efficient and functional than native apps. One of the highlights is that there is no need to sacrifice the convenience of a traditional app because all progressive web apps are available with a handy home screen icon.

Traditional mobile apps as we know them could well become obsolete in the next few years as more modern alternatives look to replace them. HTML5, along with progressive web apps, is likely to be the preferred options for businesses moving forwards over the next few years. From a consumer's point of view, the difference is unlikely to be too noticeable and the change will occur gradually.

Mobile apps have revolutionized business. Transactions have been simplified, and brands can communicate with their customers directly and in a personalized manner. If you have a business - regardless of size - pairing it with an app is something you should give serious thought to. The digital age has provided a level playing field for all brands, and standing out has become incredibly intricate. Read on for ways an app can better your service delivery and give you the edge on your competitors:

  1. An app provides you with a free marketing channel

One of the most significant benefits of having a business app is the ability to communicate directly with your customers without competing for attention. Your app carries only information about your brand and product. This means that when a customer opens it, there is zero chance they are there for anything but information about your product or service. Your only job is to ensure the information you provide is relevant, useful, and, if possible, personalized.

  1. Apps separate the great from the good.

Apps are everywhere these days, but don't let that fool you: most of your rivals don't even know their businesses can use an app. You can use the opportunity to leapfrog them and pull yourself closer to the market leaders. Your customers will love your innovativeness, and your brand will take on a new look of credibility and classiness.

But there is a catch to it; a bad app is worse than an absent app. If you are going to develop an app, ensure it is terrific because such a significant addition can only enhance or break your business. Get a seasoned developer to build the app for you. Goodcore is an app development company based in London with a team of experts specializing in different aspects of app development. This is the expertise and level of dedication that you need for your project.

  1. A business app will increase customer engagement.

All clients need a clear communication channel with the provider of the service they are seeking. If customers can't reach you, a chunk of them will likely consider the next brand. Mobile apps enable this reach. You only need to create a section on the app where customers can interact with the support team and chat. A mobile app eliminates the need for customers to visit your website to interact with the business or get more details.

  1. It increases customer loyalty.

Customer loyalty is achieved when you keep reminding your customers that your brand exists. Then again, everyone uses the same channels to elicit commitment - banners, flyers, flashing signs, newspaper ads, roadside banners, billboards, social media, email, coupons, etc.

You cannot draw on these hackneyed means and expect to realize extraordinary results. A mobile app will help you connect with your clients in a way that makes them feel valued. Gradually, they will develop an attachment to your business and potentially turn into your brand's self-appointed ambassadors.

  1. Build brand awareness

Among the crucial things an app offers to consumers is communication with and awareness of your brand. It offers a platform for regular interaction with the target market, which helps to foster loyalty and trust. Also, when a customer is frequently exposed to your brand, their buying intent increases. That's why mobile apps are considered an effective brand promotion strategy. A mobile app is one of the best tools for enhancing brand visibility.

  1. On-the-go advertising

Whether they are at a coffee shop, at work, or in a traffic jam, a mobile app allows consumers to access a user-friendly place for your business. The regular use and easy accessibility help to reinforce your brand and business, increasing the possibility of consumers making purchases.

  1. Easier market research

If you have been running your business for some time, you know how market research is crucial to businesses. A business app makes it easy to conduct market research. It makes it easy to collect, analyze, and leverage consumer data. Capturing consumer insights such as consumer preferences and behavior can help you make the right decisions and focus your energy in the right place. Therefore, with a business app, your business can use data-driven marketing statistics to offer customers a personalized experience.

  1. Mobile payments

Mobile payments are a secure means of transaction, and they have been growing in popularity. Customers are not required to share any sensitive information, and thus there is no possibility of a third party accessing the information. Integrating your business app with mobile payment will make customers feel secure about their private and transaction information.

  1. Worldwide audience reach

Most people around the world access the internet through their mobile phones. There are over 4.5 billion active internet users around the world, and most of these people access the internet through their mobile phones. A business app increases your business's global reach.

  1. Value creation

A mobile app will make your services or products more trustworthy for consumers. 94% of the top 50 retailers in the United States have at least one mobile application. A mobile application also makes your business look more professional.

  1. Maximize sales and revenue

The flexibility offered by mobile apps has led to increased mobile app transactions in recent years. They offer a convenient, simple, and intuitive purchasing process, which is why most customers prefer them. This helps to improve customer experience, which positively impacts sales.

  1. Brand endorsement

A mobile app will help you create a good reputation. You see, nobody wants to buy something without reading comments and reviews from other buyers. Just like you wouldn't go anywhere without checking ticket pricing, routes, and hotels beforehand. Positive reviews by your existing customers are an effective way to attract potential customers.

Conclusion

There are many ways to upgrade your business. Creating an app, albeit relatively costly and time-consuming, is one of the most viable ones. Don't ponder it a minute longer. Develop a business app today and see your brand take on a new fast-tracked growth curve.

The famous (or infamous) Merge Tabs is now gone from Google Chrome Beta version 51. If you can still see it, you probably need to update the application. This was a long time coming as the function had never really taken off. Initially launched by Google to make browsing a more organized experience, it actually turned out to be more confusing than helpful for most users. With the advent of Android Lollipop, the Recent Apps menu began to have separate Chrome tabs in it, which annoyed users and they often opted to turn Merge Tabs & Apps off for good.

Google realised the situation and addressed it first by setting this feature off by default. Since then, Merge Tabs has been performing a slow disappearing act as soon after, it was nowhere to be found on the Chrome Dev channel. After its complete omission from the Beta version 51, we are quite sure that it won't be long before the setting disappears from Chrome's Stable version as well. When that happens, it will disappear for the foreseeable future from all versions of Chrome.

In spite of the general opinion, there are users who actually liked the feature and according to them, they even benefitted from it. In fact, many fans of the Merge Tabs & Apps are asking why it has to be completely removed instead of just keeping it as an option. What did you think about this feature and do you find it useful?

S6

As a way to enhance the User Experience, Samsung will be making some major changes to the TouchWiz UI on its upcoming flagship, Samsung Galaxy S6. According to the the latest reports, Samsung will remove some of the pre-installed default Samsung apps such as S Voice, S Health, S Note and Scrapbook from TouchWiz UI.

Those apps will be available for download through the company's Galaxy Apps store. Samsung may pre-install few of Microsoft apps in their place as a result of the deal between the two companies regarding their patent royalty case.

If true, the Galaxy S6 will come with Microsoft OneNote, OneDrive, Office Mobile bundled with a free Office 365 subscription as well as Skype. Trimming the TouchWiz features is also allegedly making the Galaxy S6 Lollipop experience a lot more fluid and quicker than the similarly updated Galaxy Note 4.

Touchwiz ui

Changes that will be made to TouchWiz on Galaxy S6:

• Samsung's default keyboard app supposedly looks more like a mix between the keyboard on the Galaxy Tab S and the iOS keyboard.

• More theming options are available.

• All Samsung's apps are more colorful.

• You can select between 4×4, 4×5 and 5×5 icon layouts for the app drawer.

• The app drawer no longer supports endless cycling through the list of apps.

• The music app still runs in full-screen mode at all times.

• The dialer app looks "green as grass", or that's what we were told.

Android M

Android M is just around the corner and as its announcement nears, and rumors about more and more plausible features of the platform's next version come to surface each and every day. We already have a pretty good understanding of what Android M is going to be all about, but we are certain that Google has a lot of hidden functionalities hidden up its sleeve.

One of these might be granular, user-manageable app permission controls. All versions of Android after 4.3 Jelly Bean have allowed users to grant or revoke app permissions after they've installed a given app, but this functionality is deeply hidden in the OS itself and can't be accessed without a third-party app, with the most popular being App Ops (requires root for certain versions), making it a bit tricky to access it.

Android M

Android M might finally bring this undoubtedly handy feature up front and allow users to manage permission to their heartfelt content. There might be a dedicated menu in Settings that deals with app permissions. Also, it's rumored that on the next versions of Android, you won't need to grant various permissions before you install an app from the Play Store, which is a slightly cumbersome task that usually requires you to tap "yes" in a handful of dialogs.

HTC M8

We all know HTC Android skins (Sense) and Apps, they're smart, clean and elegant. Sadly, these Apps and skins are only available for HTC devices... but this is about to change. A Report from Recode, indicates that HTC wants its own-build software to be available for the rest of Android devices.

HTC Creative Labs has started to develop apps for Android phones in general, not just HTC, the labs first products is "HTC Zoe" which has the power to stitch together up to 16 videos or images with your own soundtrack. We hope to see more and more HTC Apps available for Android smartphones in general, Especially HTC Blinkfeed and HTC Sense 6 launcher.

HTC Zoe

The new Zoe App will come out later this week, with more to follow, as the Creative Labs team plans to release other HTC apps from its own phones' confines in the future.

To quote Baltasar Gracián, "A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends." If the report by SamMobile is to be believed, then Samsung and Apple, two of the biggest rivals in the smartphone industry, are about to do business together. Although doing business together is nothing new for the two behemoths as Samsung is possibly developing OLED panels for Apple as we speak, bringing apps to the App Store is something totally new altogether.

According to the report, Samsung apps like Gear Manager, Smart Camera, Samsung Remote Control and S Health are about to make their way on to the App Store on iOS. If you are wondering what an iPhone user will utilize these apps for, then let us inform you that these apps can be used to control other Samsung products like Samsung Smart TVs, smart cameras and smartwatches.

If true, it will make iPhone much more open to products from other companies than it ever was. While this may be great for users who want to enjoy the best of both worlds, we will just have to wait and see how Apple handles it.

One can consider Google to be the pioneer in this field as they were the first ones to get all their apps across all platforms. Smartphone manufacturers like HTC and Blackberry had also done the same with some of their apps a while ago and it seems like Samsung is about to join the bunch.

marijuana-banned-play-store

Irrespective of what the state government in any state of the United States might decide, it is now official that Google has taken a strong stance against weed in the Play Store as well.

You can check out the official statement in the store itself, but it can be summarized with the bottom-line that from now on, the Play Store won't support any applications that has anything to do with the weed business at all, irrespective of the business's legal/illegal status in the state of question.

It is disappointing and surprising to see Google taking the same stance as Apple and Facebook already did, especially when the industry has started to grow so profoundly.

Personally, I think it might just have something to do with the strained relationship that Canada now shares with the US. Similar to how Huawei has been shunned by Google due to the new policies implemented by the Trump administration, this could very well be a result of the political pressure on Google to affect the cannabis industry's uninhibited growth in Canada. Then again, it's just a hunch and I could be completely wrong.

If you have a phone with insufficient internal memory, Uninstall Manager will help you out. Those of us out there who are still using a smartphone with 8GB or even 4GB internal storage, the struggle for space is a real and constant problem. With games like N.O.V.A. 3 taking up about 2.4GB of space in your phone alone, even 16GB variants may not be enough for power users. This is where Google's new Uninstall Manager comes in. It is a new additional feature that's embedded within the Google Play Store itself. It tries to help you find more space by simply suggesting applications which you can uninstall in order to make room for the new one that you are trying to install.

Android Police further reports that the user will see a popup menu within the Play Store which will show all the uninstall suggestions, along with the size of the installed files and the amount of space you are currently lacking for the new application to be installed on your phone. The suggestions are of course, based on the usage statistics data of the consumer and therefore they will consist of apps that you rarely or never use. In order to get the Uninstall Manager on your system, you don't need to download anything, just update the Play Store to its latest version and you are all set.

According to a report by Appsflyer, Android users are much more likely to uninstall applications from their smartphones than iOS users. To be more precise, Android users are about twice as likely to uninstall an app from their phone, as compared to an Apple iPhone user. The conclusion was drawn by the analysts after going through data based on 500 apps and about 20 million devices. The comparatively short-lived interest in multiple apps, as exhibited by the Android populace could be a result of any one or multiple of the following reasons.

Android users outnumber iPhone users quite significantly, and unless the data was collected by keeping that fact in mind, the sheer numerical superiority can definitely contribute to such an overwhelming difference in behaviour between the two groups.

The Play Store now officially has more apps than the App Store, but when it comes to quality, the App Store is still leading. The Play Store has a lot of buggy and broken apps on it, which might be the reason why Android users uninstall a lot of the apps just shortly after downloading and using it.

Finally, it could be the absolute low-end, outdated garbage which some of the sellers (including Samsung) still sells to their customer base in developing nations like India, Pakistan, etc. Some of these horrible outdated phones even have internal storage capacities as low as 4GB (Useable memory being anything in between 1.2GB to 2.2GB at most). Add to this the fact that these devices also sport ancient hardware that can't even start the modern games properly and you have an instant answer for a lot of those quick uninstalls.

Although it's not often that we hear about Windows malware affecting Android apps, apparently, it is happening to 132 applications which were available on the Play Store. According to Palo Alto Networks security firm, all of these apps have Indonesian developers. Having said that, they also assured that in spite of the apps originating from the same geographical area, the developers are most likely not connected with each other. In fact, it is very likely that the developers are not even aware of the malware and were being victimized themselves.

The malicious code within the applications are in the form of HTML documents hidden inside other HTML documents; hailed as "tiny hidden IFrames." These documents are responsible for linking out to established harmful domains from inside the applications. If you are wondering what harm these could cause, Palo Alto explains that the malware can be used to, "modify the app's internal logic, i.e., adding rooting utility, declaring additional permissions, or dropping malicious APK file, to escalate their capabilities."

The good news is that Google has already removed these potentially harmful apps from the Play Store now.

The app has an extensive list of features, themes, and layouts, to group events together and various other customization options. The design of the app and widget is super clean and works in over half a dozen languages.

The mint browser is a good mobile browser. It hits all the basic requirements like low storage needs, night mode, incognito mode. The data saver mode just blocks ads and restricts image loads in articles. It isn't competing with Google Chrome or Firefox but if you are looking for something lightweight and functional, this is a great app.

Spark Mail

The app is free for right now. It does the basic email, snooze email, schedule email, and reminders just like inbox by Gmail. Some other features include pinning emails, undo sent email, and a decent email search. It can also work with other email clients like Gmail or Outlook.

Xbox Game Streaming

Google launched Stadia this year, and its major rivals choose mobile streaming. Microsoft and Stream launched its game streaming apps this year. Both apps do almost the same thing. You can play your PC games or Xbox games on your device. Unlike Stadia, these apps are using your existing hardware to play the game and your local area network to play the games on your mobile phone. These could be excellent alternatives to Google Stadia.

Android-powered mobile devices are more popular than ever with an estimated 1.5 billion active devices currently operating across the globe. Each device can hold hundreds of apps but in a market that is so over-crowded, which apps are the most essential? Here are the top 5 must-have apps available on the Android platform.

WhatsApp Messenger

We currently live in a world where instant communication has never been more important. People want access to their loved ones and friends at all times and sometimes it can be tricky to get hold of those people when relying simply on phone calls and text messages if the signal is poor.

This is where WhatsApp Messenger comes in. Released back in January, 2010, WhatsApp allows users to not only send a text-based message, images, and even sound recordings to others through the app provided there is a 3G or 4G connection or wireless connection present but it also will not cost a penny for users to do so. Users can also set up group chats so they can message multiple people simultaneously and it just allows an extra potential method of convenient communication. It has a user base in excess of 1 billion active users making it the largest messaging app available. Its takeover by Facebook has also allowed it to maximise its potential over recent months.

Snapchat

It's hard to think that Snapchat first hit the app stores back in September, 2011 and it has just grown in popularity ever since. It is so popular in fact that some major companies have altered their logos on social media in order to link in with the Snapchat app. You might recognise that ghost-style image. It was originally created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown when they were student studying at Stanford University.

The app can be used for photo sharing, instant messaging, multimedia, and video chat. It is available in over 20 languages which shows how it has transcended cultures across the world. The app has proved to be such a hit with mobile device users that it had reached 10 billion daily video views in 2016. Even though the app initially hit the main stream for its image sharing capabilities, a recent survey suggested that 71% of users now actually used it for its instant chat functions.

Instagram

One thing that really riles professional photographers is when those that are not active in the industry claim they could do it. Unfortunately, for photographers, that claim has now been given more of a voice due to the rise of the image and video-sharing app Instagram that allows users to manipulate and edit their photographs to give it a more professional edge.

Instagram was initially released back in October, 2010 by its creators Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and six years later it continues to be one of the most used apps on Android devices. It is listed up there with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr as being one of the main social network apps on the market. Latest figures suggest that the app has over 500 million active users every month which is a 100 million increase on 2015. It is used by celebrities and sports stars to communicate with fans and has even become a source of income for those in the fashion and food industries who blog their experiences for audiences.

Slots Huuuge Casino

Mobile casino gaming is an industry that is growing with every passing day. Online casino operators realise that analysts predict mobile casino revenue will hit the $99.6 billion mark this year and it is a market that is becoming potentially very lucrative as online products transfer onto the mobile platform.

There are an endless number of mobile casino offerings on the market but one of the most underrated ones is the Huuuge Inc-developed Slots Huuuge Casino. Players can get involved in a wide selection of classic casino games on their mobile devices such as slots, poker, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat plus many more. The likes of Big Fish Casino and DoubleDown Casino are still the bigger names but this app is one of a new up and coming generation that will evolve the market and take things to the next level.

Advanced Task Killer

It is a common complaint for users of mobile devices. An app that is sucking the life out of your mobile device battery has been left open in the background and within a matter of hours your device has run out of juice and you're left with a powerless mobile device without a charger within touching distance.

Advanced Task Killer is a tool that can help to solve that issue. It lists all the apps that are running both in the foreground and background of your mobile device. It will then give you the option to kill those devices to stop them from draining your battery. Developed by ReChild, it has been on the market for a number of years now but remains one of the most underrated apps available for download.

"Taking a photo of Christmas tree" (CC BY-SA 2.0) by Takashi(aes256)

We can all be guilty of getting into the Christmas spirit a little early. Festive marketing - which usually begins in November - can be a little bit infectious. But Selfridges in London took the cake for overexcitement this year, opening the doors of their Christmas shop on the first day of August - the peak of British summertime.

For regular folk, Christmas usually begins in mid-November, ahead of the last (or second-to-last) wage of the year. You know, the point when questions about trees, markets, presents, John Lewis adverts and Coca-Cola trucks become unavoidable. We're almost at that point once again, so here are a few mobile apps to get you in the mood for Santa's arrival.

NORAD Tracks Santa (iOS, Android)

NORAD, otherwise known as the North American Aerospace Defense Command, is arguably the last organisation on Earth you'd expect to run a regular Santa-tracking service over the festive period. However, the event has been a fixture of Christmas in the States since 1955, when a child tried to call Santa and ended up speaking to Colonel Harry Shoup instead.

'NORAD Tracks Santa' has made the leap from helpline service to a Google Maps-style website over the last few decades. But most modern users will experience Santa's journey on Android or iOS in 2016. The event is incredibly popular, with volunteers fielding 117,000 phone calls from children and nearly 20million people following Santa via the app or website in 2013.

The Elf Adventure Christmas Story (iOS, Android)

Many of the most popular Android and iOS games out there have Christmas themes, such as Doodle Jump Christmas Special or A Christmas Carol by Bitcasino, a slots-style game available here. However, some festive titles are just palette swaps of an original, sticking a woolly hat on a protagonist or swapping a palm tree for a fir tree.

One for the kids, the Elf Adventure Christmas Story is a 24-episode saga and digital advent calendar that revolves around a quest to awaken a sleepy frost giant before Christmas. It's nothing too taxing - each day requires the completion of a task like cleaning a window or putting biscuits in an oven - but it's a fun distraction before school for the little ones.

Secret Santa Tombola (iOS)

Whether it's a pair of socks or a sew-your-own plush cactus, Secret Santa has always been a celebration of the cheapest and weirdest presents on the market. With office-based versions of the game, the likelihood is that you won't know anything about the person you're buying a present for. So why not leave it up to fate?

Secret Santa Tombola is an app with the uncreative and just plain lazy in mind. All you have to do is specify whether the recipient is male or female, set a budget, and choose the type of gift you'd like to see as a suggestion (cute, funny, or cheeky). It's the mobile equivalent of closing your eyes and choosing something at random from the Argos catalogue.

So, there you go; three apps to make Christmas a little easier and a lot more exciting. A good month before Santa pulls on his boots.

Chrome Beta

Google has just Updated it's Chrome for Android Beta to version 38 on the Play Store with many changes. It's not a major update unlike the v37-beta update that brought us the Chrome Materiel design UI. According to the Chrome release blog Chrome Beta v38 includes additional Material Design user interface elements and new support for Android's battery status and screen orientation APIs.

chrome 38

Version 37 of Chrome for Android was the biggest update in a while, at least in terms of user experience, but the march of progress never ceases. Version 38 just hit the Play Store, and while it's not exactly earth-shattering, people who obsess over the bleeding edge of Google browsers will find something interesting.

Chrome beta

If you're running Android L on your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7, you might also see a new option in the Settings menu. "Merge tabs and apps" would seem to indicate the kind of functionality that we've seen in "Project Hera" and confirmed at Google I/O. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work yet. SystemUI has been crashing periodically since we've turned that slider on.

Play services 6.5

Google Play services 6.5 is now Rolling-out. This release of Google Play services Adds New features to Fit, Maps, Drive, And Wallet Apps. Also, when the SDK lands, it will finally answer the single most common complaint from developers that the GMS library is just too damn big (4-5 MB).

Maps will receive the lion's share of new features with Play services v6.5 update. To begin with, applications making use of maps will now include two convenient buttons in the lower-right corner that will instantly take the user to the Google Maps app for directions and turn-by-turn navigation to the currently selected address. Developers are free to disable these buttons if they prefer to offer a more customized interface. Another handy addition will come in the form of a new "lite mode" map which is designed to be smaller and less interactive.

maps

These simplified maps are intended to be used more like thumbnails, allowing several to comfortably fit on a screen at once. To round things off, developers are finally gaining the ability to send users directly into the Google Maps application and immediately initiate a search, turn by turn navigation, or Street View.

You can get Google Play Services version 6.5 now from link below. The APK provided below is official and has not been modified by any means.

Google Maps

After updating its Android Apps with the New Material Design UI, Google is Now doing the same with its iOS Apps on the Apple iTunes store. Stating with the Google search app for Apple's mobile OS which is today getting an update to version 5.0.0, and one of the biggest new things is the addition of the Material Design language.

Additionally, there are a few new features in tow too. The Recents view shows you the pages you recently visited, the Google button lets you start a search with just one tap, and Google Maps 9.0 allows you to explore interactive maps, nearby places, and Street View right inside the search app.

Material Design

Image search contains bigger pictures now, the app has been optimized to look great on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and, of course, the new Material Design animations should delight your eyes.

They say it's not the camera that makes a good photograph-it's the photographer. If you've got some skills when it comes to taking a photo, you'll be able to produce some truly amazing shots with any type of camera.

Even if you were to use the camera on your humble smartphone, you would still get good results.

Cameras on smartphones-particularly the Android smartphones-get better with every new model. Because of this, it really isn't all that difficult to produce some great photos. But while a smartphone camera's capabilities are sufficient enough for your photography needs, having a few extra tools and gadgets at your disposal certainly wouldn't hurt.

Here are a few apps and accessories for your Android smartphone that can help improve your photography:

1. Camera Zoom FX

If you want a camera and photo editing app that gives you a suite of professional features along with some awesome effects and filters for your next Instagram selfie, then this app is for you. A heavy favorite among Android users, this app gets you pretty close to having a smartphone that can work like a DSLR, thanks to powerful features such as full manual controls; RAW capture on supported devices; the option to adjust your ISO, exposure, shutter speed, and focus distance; powerful HD post-processing; and more.

2. Ztylus RV-1 Revolver Lens Attachment and Case

With DSLR cameras, it's important to use the right lens for your needs-the kit lens can only take you so far. Interchangeable lenses play a crucial role in achieving your desired shot, especially if you're trying to shoot close-ups with very fine detail (macro) or a panoramic landscape shot (wide-angle).

The same principle applies to your smartphone. If you want to achieve better results and get more variety out of your smartphone camera, using attachable lenses is the way to go. For Android phones, the Ztyler RV-1 revolver lens is a great, inexpensive option, as it gives you three lenses in one: a wide angle, a super macro, and an extreme fisheye. It also comes with a polarizer for when you're shooting outdoors in sunny weather.

3. Manual Camera

If you want a simple, no-frills app that offers impressive, full manual camera controls, this is the app for you. It has no cutesy effects, no artsy filters, and none of the other fun add-on features from other camera apps on the market. It simply allows you to take full advantage of Android Lollipop's Camera2 API.

With this app, you'll be able to manually adjust your shutter speed, ISO, white balance, focus distance, and exposure compensation. It also allows you to shoot in RAW format, which is preferred by photographers to make post-processing much easier.

Make sure to run the compatibility test first to see if it will work for you and your device.

4. Snap Camera HDR

Whether you are a professional photographer or a casual user, Snap Camera HD is an extremely useful app for creating great images and videos. In addition to the usual manual controls and the RAW support, it also offers 4K video recording, HDR mode, fast picture mode, and miscellaneous (but pretty useful) features such as the ability to use your phone's Torch mode while recording video in low-light situations.

5. FLY-X3 Plus 3-Axis Smartphone Gimbal Stabilizer

When you're shooting with a smartphone, you're not exactly going to be carrying a tripod everywhere you go. The better solution, therefore, is to use a handheld gimbal stabilizer. This simple, portable, and highly useful device uses a motorized 3-axis powered gimbal to eliminate camera shake and give you the smoothest, most stable video footage and images. This is perfect for action shots or for images that require slower shutter speeds.

6. DSLR Camera Pro

Just as the name suggests, the DSLR Camera Pro is an app that lets you turn your smartphone into a DSLR-or as close as it can get to a DSLR, anyway. Just like Manual Camera, this app keeps it fairly simple by doing away with fancy filters, frames, stickers, and other extra camera effects. It just sticks to manual camera settings. The features include a moveable viewfinder, live histogram, exposure compensation, light metering mode, ISO and white balance adjustment, and more.

7. Luxi Light Meter

Luxi is a great addition to your photography tools and accessories because it turns your smartphone into a professional-quality light meter. Much like the integrated light meter in a DSLR camera, Luxi will help you determine the optimal manual settings to achieve the perfect exposure for your images.

With this device, you take most of the guesswork out of adjusting your smartphone camera's manual settings.

8. Pocket Spotlight

When it comes to photography, lighting is key. But what happens when the lighting is virtually nonexistent?

Instead of using your phone's built-in flash to add some light to your images, use an external lighting device like Photojojo's Pocket Spotlight.

Compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones, this portable device is a continuous light source that plugs into your phone's headphone jack. It produces beautifully even, soft light in three modes: full strength, half strength, and strobe-tastic.

Apart from these apps and accessories, there are many other ways to make the best out of your smartphone's camera. Give them a try and experiment with various apps and add-on accessories to see which ones work best for you and your phone when it comes to creating amazing, professional-quality images!

It's been another great year for innovative new apps arriving on Android and IOS and we hope this trend will continue throughout 2017. It's true that there is an app out there for just about anything and even though some are truly more useful that others we have selected a range of the latest and upcoming Android apps for you to enjoy.

FINGERPRINT GESTURES
The good thing about a free app is that whilst it might not end up being exactly what you initially imagined it to be you will always have the ability to give it a try first. Thankfully Fingerprint Gestures is exactly that kind of app and even though it has a few teething problems on certain devices it can allow you to take better control of various smartphone-related tasks.

PHOTOSCAN
This useful little Google app gives you the chance to scan your existing physical photographs and turn it into a digital alternative. As you enter the scan process you can select a number of options that will allow you to edit or enhance the original photo as you see fit. It's pretty simple to use and fantastically helpful if you have stacks and stacks of old photos lying around.

IQ WARS
Quiz lovers will certainly get a kick out of this new generation IQ, trivia and quiz app. It's filled with challenging quizzes and various live tournaments and even gives registered players the chance to win actual prizes. You can compete alongside other players in realtime and it's a great opportunity to show off your general knowledge skills to friends and family.

LEARN HOW TO DRAW
We do love an app that has a title which pretty much explains exactly what it does, at least that way if you're an avid app fan that collects and stores apps all over the place you'll be able to quickly discover what it's used for. This cool app features a whole host of various lessons ranging in levels of difficulty in order to help improve your drawing skills. Each tutorial featured on the app was created especially by well known Irish comic book artist Will Sliney, and there's plenty to pick from.

TRANSFERGO
There are plenty of money-sharing apps out there but TransferGo works a little differently and is ideal for those looking to make international payments or money transfer. No doubt at some point you have probably been stung by an unexpected banking fee relating to either sending or receiving international funds in various currencies. TransferGo eliminates these extortionate rates providing a quick and easy to use service that will let you transfer money across Europe for a mere fraction of the price. As smartphones continue the march of money evolution, this app is a must!

PYRO!
Pyro isn't exactly one of the most practical or useful apps currently around but it strangely satisfying. This augmented reality-based app gives Android owners the chance to watch just about anything around them burn, all virtually of course. Just point your phone's camera at the place, item or person you'd like to see set in flames and start drawing in the burning flames with your finger.

When you are a sports fan, the fun of the game is to watch it live, but when you go deeper you like to know the form of your favourite team, racer, or horse. If you are looking for the best mobile free bets, or even wanting to have more in-depth knowledge of the sport, then you have to dive into the statistics and latest news.

This can be done by looking at newspapers and reading all the information included, of course, but in the era of the Internet we also have an unlimited source of statistics and news at hand. To get some control on this deluge of information, we have apps that can get us all the information we want, without drowning us in unneeded clutter. With that in mind, here are 5 must have sports apps in 2017:

BBC Sport

The BBC has always been a useful source of information for news on our favourite teams, as well as the latest scores and highlights from games and races. With the BBC Sports app, not only can you find all the stats you want, but you can also listen to Radio 5Live and Five Sports Extra while browsing.

BBC iPlayer Radio

When on the move and not at a game, sports fans still want to know the results. BBC iPlayer Radio allows sports fans to listen the live commentary without being trapped at home.

TalkSPORT and TalkSPORT 2

Sometimes the BBC may not be running commentary for the games you want, so TalkSPORT and TalkSPORT 2 can help here. They are the official broadcaster for the likes of the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and also the English International games so this can be an essential app for sports fans.

Oddschecker

Oddschecker is one of the most popular odds comparison website in the UK. The odds are gathered from the most reputable bookmakers which include William Hill and Ladbrokes. Punters are able to tailor the app to see more of their favourite sports, whether it's football or horse racing, users can keep track all of their bets with different bookies in one app!

Official F1

The Official F1 app is an essential tool for fans, even when they are sat watching the games on television. Not only does it provide all the latest news, but it lets you track the racers on the track during the race, and includes all the details such as top speeds, tyre information, and best laps.

The Internet is an excellent resource for sports fans, but it can also be a curse sometimes because of the sheer amounts of information that is out there. Having apps like the ones above mean we can get the information we need, and have it on hand at any moment, keeping us informed on all the vital information we need.

If you want to make 2017 the year you start engaging with the financial markets to try and get more from your capital, then your Android phone or tablet can become one of the most helpful tools in your trading arsenal. By taking advantage of good trading related apps, you can set your phone up as a hub for all your trading activity, allowing you to access your portfolio, ETF activity, share index information and everything else you need on the go.

Here are three great apps to help you become an effective mobile trader:

IG Trading

The first thing you need is a trading environment where you can hold your account and actually do your trading. IG's offering is a feature rich app that gives you speedy access to pricing, account information, and most importantly, trading. The app can also help you see various forms of data analysis that can help you plan your moves. The app is free if you have an account with IG, and you can either set this up through the app itself or on their website.

Bloomberg+

An effective trader needs a good source of financial news that is laser targeted to the parts of the market that are most important to them. As you start trading you'll begin to see just how much you value having fast access to business and economic news, as well as expert opinions and analysis. The Bloomberg+ app gives you fast access to the latest global finance news, and means you can avoid having to work through your phone's browser when you need the latest information and breaking price news fast.

Stocktwits

Social media can be a great source of insights, but rather than create a whole new Twitter profile just to collect the stock information you want, or have it fill up your usual news feed, you can install Stocktwits - which is effectively 'Twitter for traders'. You can see insights, ideas, tips and strategies from other traders in real time tweet style format, and also share your own thoughts and ask questions.

Arming yourself with the right sources of insights and news, along with the tools to actually get your trading done, means you can work effectively and efficiently from your phone, whether you are actively making trades or researching a potential trade from both mainstream news sources and social media. With these three apps, you are ready to trade intelligently wherever you are!

With an Android smartphone, you can do a lot. Aside from all the usual phone calls, video messages and social media posts, you can amend documents, show presentations and stream films and music. For those who are interested in managing their money and watching it grow, there are some Android apps just for that!

A quick look in the Google Play Store will show a sizeable number of financial apps. Ones for the latest financial news, market data and even trading will prove valuable if you want the best possible return on your investment. When investing, there is a lot to think about, from the amount you want to invest to where you want to put your money.

Choosing an App

You need to choose the right app first. Consider when, where and how you would like to invest your hard-earned cash. When using any investment app, make sure that your bank card details are easily available. Otherwise, you won't be able to invest your money! Also, be sure that you have enough funds in your account to invest in the first place.

If you don't like to take too many risks, Acorns is a good starting point. This simple app allows you to invest your spare change in a safe and quick way. You can put a few cents or pence into different stocks and keep track of your money whenever you like. Any change left over from buying a coffee or pizza could be stored away in a stock of your choice.

Picking a Market

Before you invest, think about which markets are most likely to make you money. An app that has plenty of markets to choose from will give you more opportunities to explore. The Oanda fxTrade app offers over 120 currency pairs and instruments to work with, all while offering live market data.

To start, pick something to trade with, choose an amount of money you want to invest and then you can trade instantly. Live data and access to the latest financial news is a must for any would-be trader. If you have it on your smartphone, ready to read, you will be able to make a more informed decision on where to invest.

Latest News

If you need financial news, Feedly is a one-stop app for all kinds of stories. It pools news items from many different sources, with specific areas for business and financial stories. Not having to go between websites and apps for financial data will save investors time and give them an idea of what to put their money on.

For some of the more obscure markets and stocks, the Investing.com app provides data from markets all over the world. Accessing historical stats on this app will boost your decision making, as well as educate you about how different stocks work.

Twitter has millions of users around the world, with that number growing as it continues to be the best place to keep up with current events. If you are an avid Twitter fan and you own an Android handset, here are five third party apps to download and use today. But be quick, as it is setting out to change its API soon!

Plume

This is a great-looking app that has plenty of personality and offers the potential for users to customise the way they view Twitter. Individual accounts can be given their own unique colour so that it is easy to identify your friends and favourite tweeters on the timeline.

Plume lets you remain logged in with more than one account, which is good for people who have a personal and business presence on Twitter that they are struggling to stay on top of at the moment. Since it runs smoothly on the majority of Android phones, it is also a solid choice for most users, regardless of their device of choice.

Hootsuite

This app isn't just for Twitter, but for every other mainstream social media platform around, including the likes of Facebook, Instagram and even LinkedIn. If you want to amalgamate your feeds and control all of your accounts at once, it's ideal.

Hootsuite is free to download and use, with extra business-focused features unlocked via a monthly subscription. This lets you schedule entire social media campaigns and boost the profile of your business or brand, although most users will not need this kind of in-depth functionality.

TweetCaster

With regular updates and lots of features, this is one of the old guard of the Twitter app market. It is great for viewing content, whether you are a Casumo Twitter acolyte or a fan of other big accounts.

Be prepared to put up with quite a few adverts in the free version, or splash out a bit and get the premium edition which is blissfully ad-free. Some might feel that TweetCaster is a little bloated with all its features, but there are lighter-weight alternatives to consider.

Twitter

That's right, we're recommending the official Twitter app for Android users, not just because it is sanctioned by the company itself, but also because it's a fairly slick bit of software in its own right.

There's no hefty fee to pay to download and use it, no unnecessary add-ons to get in the way of the pure microblogging experience, and no chance that it will ever be killed off by some over-zealous API tinkering, as mentioned earlier. The only downside is that it lacks quite a few of the perks that are common across the other apps in this list, such as tweet scheduling, so you'll have to look elsewhere for a more versatile offering.

Fenix 2

If you have multiple Twitter accounts that need to be managed, and you value the opportunity to customise the way you use this service, Fenix 2 is the app for you. It is well integrated with external platforms as well, so when people tweet links to content on other sites, or embed videos and photos within posts, you can easily view them without having to jump out and fire up another app.

An extra advantage of Fenix 2 is that it makes it straightforward to mute users who get on your nerves, whether or not you follow them. Keeping tabs on who you have muted and blocked is important in these trying times. This app lets you purify your feed and enjoy Twitter again, rather than finding that it's cluttered with unhelpful opinions.

Summer is fast approaching and the long days of sitting by a pool or in the garden are just around the corner.

For many it's a chance to kick back and relax, take some time away from their smartphones. For others, including us, we're continually checking our devices, not least because the boredom of sitting in the same spot for hours has kicked in.

Never fear though, there are dozens of great apps out there to keep you occupied this summer, in fact, they could even enhance it...

FIFA World Cup App

2018 really is a summer of sport so if you're missing out on the action for the likes of summer strolls or DIY, the official World Cup app will keep you up to date with all the football.

The months of June and July are going to be packed with football, and with this FIFA app you won't miss a thing.

Beach Finder

It's amazing what apps are available these days. If you're fancying a day by the beach, the sand nestling between your toes, then Beach Finder is here to help.

A fairly self explanatory app, Beach Finder will be able to find your closest beach as well as highlight it's facilities and amenities. It's perfect, especially for on holiday when you might not necessarily know where the local beaches are.

Mobile Casino app

The great thing about mobile gaming are the games where they're quick and easy and can be comfortably played on the go.

When the sun is shining and you're lounging around a pool, there's no better app to download for a game than a mobile casino.

You'll be able to play a range of games from slots to blackjack, roulette and more, while you'll also be able to get mobile casino no deposit bonuses, so you won't even have to spent a penny.

Grill Time

Think you're a barbecue expert but get proven wrong time and time again? Grill Time is a great app for you to perfect that meat and become a real hero during family parties and BBQs.

The app will keep track of what's on the grill and send you notifications for when it's time to flip or serve. You'll be a burger expert in no time!

Wolfram

An app we hugely recommend, Wolfram measures sun exposure and calculates when it's time to call it a day from under the sun.

The app will use your complexion to calculate how long you can be out without feeling the burn. It takes into account time of day, location and the suntan lotion factor you're using to give you a solid estimate on when you should be thinking about taking a break from the rays.

No matter if you're a new Android user or a lifetime enthusiast, you certainly noticed that the Google Play catalog spreads on over 3.5 million apps that are eligible with most Android devices out there. So, for everyone that doesn't want to waste time installing and testing apps that aren't useful or do not perform as expected, such a list of hot Android applications is more than handy. The selection process for each app is strict and nothing in this recommended list didn't get here without proper testing so you can definitely trust that any app you will find down below is 100% functional and trustworthy even though you never heard of it until now.

Before jumping into the list of top 6 apps, there's an announcement to be made and some of you might now like it. This list doesn't contain any Android game for two reasons: first of all, a top 6 wouldn't be nearly enough for the number of awesome games Android has to offer; secondly, the focus remains on helpful and entertaining apps that do not directly link to gaming. So, without further ado, here's the list of the 6 Android apps you need to have on your smartphone this year.

Comixology Comics

The art of comic books seems to be dying, especially if you're referring to the physical comic book stores. And this is a pity since reading comic books is a very relaxing activity that can have a high educational implication as well. Luckily, for all comic book fans out there, Comixology offers an endless library of all the best comic books, totally free.

Evernote

For those of you that never used Evernote, it is everything you need to have in terms of a personal assistant. It can keep lists, take notes, record voice messages, to-do management and, basically, an all-around multi-tool. One feature that really stands out and makes Evernote very interesting is the optical character recognition function that basically makes text in photos searchable. Install the app right now and give it a shot, it's pretty impressive.

Facebook Messenger

For some of you, the inclusion of this app on the list might seem as a redundant thing to do since everyone is already using it. Well, that's exactly the reason why it gets a spot here! If offers a stable and high-quality communication pathway between you and your friends among a lot of different other services.

Google Drive

Defined by most as a cloud storage service, Google Drive is much more than that. It also comes with a mobile office suite, making you capable of accessing important excel and word files or even presentations from your mobile device. Everything is opened instantly and it will transform your smartphone in a working station in no time.

LastPass

LastPass is the perfect password manager. There's no doubt that you have forgot at least one password in the past month so that's why a service like this one is included in this top. It can also generate passwords for you in case you're not feeling inspired enough and will store each and every password for super-fast access when needed.

Netflix

The king of mobile vides streaming, Netflix offers an impressive portfolio of movies, TV shows and documentaries among other amazing features such as 4K streaming and offline viewing. Entering a tough segment where it had to face Youtube, Netflix showed everyone what they're capable of.

As mentioned earlier, creating a list with must-have apps for Android is quite a tricky thing to do due to different needs and preferences of each user and personality. Some of you might refuse using Facebook Messenger while others would go crazy for an app to access 24pokies mobile casino. One thing is certain, though, no matter they way you want to integrate your smartphone in your professional or social life, there will surely be an app there ready to make things easier or more interesting.
