The Smartphone has never been more popular. In the modern age, our phones have become an extension of self, we use them constantly to update, navigate and traverse the modern landscape. We check the traffic, monitor the weather and use GPS to make our way around. According to an article published in Tech World there are up to five billion cell phone users across the globe - that's a lot of handsets. Because most modern smartphones are so delicate, most people choose to protect their phone with a case. The trouble is most of these cases are made from environmentally detrimental materials. With over a billion new handsets sold every year, that adds up to a big pile of waste heading to the landfill or even worse, the ocean.
Thankfully, there are better options out there. Many proactive companies have begun to offer greener, earth-friendly phone accessories. We've picked our two favourites and outlined the benefits of their products.
In terms of protection, this case can hold its own with traditional plastic phone cases. Although, this case does not have an official drop rating yet, the company promises satisfaction or your money back. Finally, the most important feature: when you're retiring your phone, simply toss this case onto the compost heap and let nature take its course. You can shop the eco-friendly phone case range here at CaseFace.
These are by no means the only options for a greener case. More and more companies are choosing to offer most sustainable options to their customers and choosing such options can have a dramatic effect on the environment. So, when shopping for your next case, consider going green.

CES is always a great event to welcome the New Year and year 2020 wasn't different. There wasn't many smartphones at the event, but a handful products surely made a splash due to being innovative and technologically advanced. Here are some of the top devices that deserve a mention.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 fold is a foldable version of the laptop. It is really cool to experience a laptop that looks like a tablet or monitor when laid out flat and becomes a regular laptop when half-open. The folded version is only 13-inch device that is small enough to carry inside a jacket. It has an ultra-think Bluetooth keyboard that slots in between the screen when folded eliminating the gap inside.
Insta360 One R
This is not just a regular wide-angle 4k action camera, but has modular structure that lets you switch out the lenses. It allows users to switch out not only the lenses, but the sensors as well. This is a huge breakthrough in cam industry. Rather than just popping a different lens on a stock body, each lens module comes with its own sensor, meaning you always have the right sensor for the lens you're using.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook
The Chromebook surely steels the show at CES 2020. It is a powerful chromebook with a beautiful design and body. It includes a stylus, that uses a convertible design and the metal chassis is sleek and well-made. If you have been looking for a chrome book this year, you should pay attention to this one.
OnePlus Concept one
OnePlus appeared at CES event for the first time, and it truly made an entrance with the concept one. The device has a design nothing like before. The device is ostensibly a OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren edition with a new exterior. The Concept One uses electro chromic glass over the cameras on the rear side which allows them to disappear when not needed. No one has used the elctrochromic glass on mobile devices before and certainly would be a game changer.
Skyworth Q91
There were many TVs at CES but the Skyworth Q91 is one of the biggest and cheapest TV. A 75-inch 8K IPS LED TV from a storied television maker for under six thousand U.S. dollars is worth paying attention to. The Tv has integrated 8K AI image processing Engine, Dolby Atmos 2.1.2, a soundbar with Wonder Audio Sky Echo, a camera for web-conferencing, and SwAIoT for connecting all your smart home products to your TV, no matter if they're Skyworth products or powered by Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Streaming is the future of entertainment in the world right now. Unlike renting or even going to the cinema, people prefer to have their series delivered to them and to just watch as much as they like from the comfort of their homes.
However, given the abundance of streaming services, making a choice has to be a difficult task. So, we checked out PCMag for some help and came up with the best streaming services available today:
Netflix
There's no doubt about the fact that Netflix will be topping this chart. Still the godfather of al streaming services, Netflix has been able to hold its majority share of the video streaming market pretty well.
As we all know, Netflix provides a wide catalog of movies, TV shows, documentaries, comedy specials, and even original programs now; all for a monthly subscription fee that's quite manageable. When it comes to its catalog, there's no other streaming service that has been able to give Netflix a proper run for its money; it might not be the cheapest of the bunch, but its offering of content makes it by far the best choice up until now.
With Netflix, you would create up to 5 profiles on one account just to ensure that your best programs don't infringe on the recommendations for your loved ones and friends who might be sharing the account with you. Now, that's versatility.
Hulu
Hulu has long been the most significant threat that Netflix has faced, up until recently (more on that later). For people who would like to keep current with TV shows but who don't want to get HD antennae or cable subscription, this is a perfect choice here.
Hulu provides major network shows to its customers (except for CBS offerings), as well as a sizable number of cable shows. There are also some original shows here, a few offbeat options, and a surprising vast catalog of anime offerings. Sadly, its experience isn't all that great; even if you get a paid subscription, you might still need to listen to commercials.
Disney+
Disney+ is the great disruptive force that the streaming market needed. Netflix and Hulu were free to keep their almost duopoly running, but when a big fish like Disney stepped into the market last year, everyone was forced to re-strategize.
The only reason why Disney+ isn't higher on this list is because it's still relatively new (it was launched a little over 2 months ago). However, in terms of content, it packs a punch as well. Now that it is available, most of the content from Disney could be pulled from Netflix and streamed on here.
Remember that Disney is perhaps the most powerful entertainment behemoth. Its subsidiaries include Marvel Entertainment (the Avengers and all affiliated superheroes), Lucasfilm (the entire Star Wars universe), Pixar (your favorite animated content), and much more.
There's no doubt that Disney+ will be taking more market share from Hulu soon and giving Netflix a good run for its money this year.
Emby
For those outliers who love to stand out from the crows, Emby is the right choice. Of course, the biggest benefit of Emby is its ability to get both audio and video content from all over the internet and stream it right to any of your devices.
By coupling Seedbox with Emby, you are able to take your favorite media anywhere you go, regardless of your device. On Emby, you get a personalized server, which automatically converts and streams your media, so you have it with you always.
In what was the worst quarter for Samsung Mobiles in the last two years, the tech giant has experienced a decrease of 96% in operating profits in Q3 2016, as compared to Q3 2015. It doesn't take a genius to guess that the recalling (twice) of the Galaxy Note 7 and its subsequent discontinuation due to mysterious hazardous threats that it posed to the customers are the main culprits behind such a disastrous financial quarter. That being said, Samsung is still the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world and significantly ahead of Apple, with a market share of twenty percent in the quarter!
According to Melissa Chau of IDC, "Samsung's market dominance in the third quarter was unchallenged in the short term even with this high-profile Galaxy Note 7 recall, but the longer term impact on the Samsung brand remains to be seen."
"If the first recall was a stumble for Samsung, the second recall of replacement devices face-planted the Note series. In a market that is otherwise maturing, Christmas has come early for vendors looking to capitalize with large-screened flagship alternatives like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel."
According to IDC, 72 million of the 363 million smartphones sold in this quarter were manufactured by Samsung. The report from Strategy Analytics differs slightly (75 million out of 375 million handsets sold) but still clearly depicts the strong presence of Samsung in the global smartphone business, in spite of the embarrassing episode with the Galaxy Note 7.
Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)
Samsung featured as top smartphone vendor in the world in the third quarter of 2015 and the arch rival Apple is following them, as per latest report from research organisation, Digitimes Research. While the South Korean tech giant acquired 25.6% market share in Q3, the iPhone maker managed to get 14.5% share.
This is actually quite obvious considering Samsung ships a very large variety of handsets - from the entry level to the mid-range along with good number of flagship models as well. We can be sure that they have a far larger market share, and that makes Apple's iPhone sales all the more impressive (since it is a fact that there is no such thing as a cheap current generation unlocked iPhone).
As for the rest of the top 5 smartphone makers in the world, they are Huawei standing at 7.4%, Lenovo at fourth position with 4.8% and LG is just behind Lenovo's share with 4.5% of the market. Chinese smartphone vendor Xiaomi has come to 6th spot with 3.8% market share, whereas Sony and Microsoft far away with 2% and 1.7% share, respectively. Last quarter we saw 331.9 million smartphones shipped internationally, and this also shows that there is a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
If you are not a tech-enthusiast, then the chances are that you are probably confused by all that's available in the market and the choices are indeed plenty. This list will help you find the most powerful processors on offer. On the other hand, even if you are a tech-enthusiast, you would appreciate this list as AnTuTu has finally revealed the chipsets that are on the top of the food chain. Keep in mind that most of the processors that are used in mobile phones today were put through the benchmark multiple times before the conclusions were drawn.
As expected, the latest Snapdragon 820 chip from Qualcomm leads the pack with a whopping score of 136383. The Apple A9 chip lags behind ever so slightly at the second position with 132657. The Exynos 8890 chipset powering the international variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is in the third position by an even narrower margin with a score of 129865. After that, the difference between the chipsets become much more obvious as the Kirin 950 scored 92746, followed by the older Exynos 7420, which scored 86652. Last year's troubled but powerful flagship processor, the SD 810 still holds its own at the 6th position over the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset. The Apple A8 is in the 8th position with 79100, but the difference between the A8 and the SD 650, which is at number 9 with 78979, is negligible. The Snapdragon 808 from Qualcomm just makes the cut at the last position with a respectable 68508.
As you can see from the list, Qualcomm is absolutely dominating the smartphone market with its mobile CPUs and have even managed to dethrone the mighty Apple A9 chip from its number one position. We will just have to wait and see if Apple can come up with something even better when they release the iPhone 7 later this year.
Nexus 5X was rolled out to the market as a part of Google's 7th gen Nexus smartphones (along with the Nexus 6P), in October 2015 as the descendant of the Nexus 5 from 2013.
Both Nexus 5 and the 5X are made by LG, but 5X is way ahead of what the predecessor was at the time of launch: though it is established that the Nexus 5 was a high-end smartphone, the Nexus 5X has been built as per 2015 and 2016 standards, like of a mid-range device. In addition to this, at launch, the Nexus 5X will cost more than 5. Here are the reasons that make this phone the best mid-range smartphone currently available in the US:
- The Nexus 5X is powered by stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow (now upgraded to 6.0.1) which will give you unparalleled Google experience
- The fingerprint scanner, known as the Nexus Imprint is the fastest scanner out there.
- Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P also sport the same rear camera sensor: a 12.3 MP Sony IMX377 one with more-than-conventional pixels (1.55 μm), laser auto focus, and 4K video recording.
- It has got USB Type-C port, the 2700 mAh non-removable battery that gets fully charged in an hour and hour; enough to last for a day.
- Google Nexus 5X boasts a 5.2-inch IPS screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 423 ppi, which is quite sharp.
- The 16GB variant will cost $299 and the 32GB variant would cost $349.
OpenSignal Inc. thrive on smartphone statistics and took the time to plot Android Brand fragmentation. It was a Huge undertaking as the dominant smartphone platform has splintered in many different ways.
First off is that Android devices are made by a myriad of manufacturers. Samsung was by far the biggest with 43% market share and 12 of the 13 most popular devices. Despite the domination, the company's market share has actually slipped, last year it had 47.5% of the market.
Sony comes in a distant second with 4.8% market share. There's a large number of old Sony devices out there, some dating from the Sony Ericsson days. LG and Motorola also have decently-sized shares. Huawei and Lenovo are doing okay too, keep in mind new Motorolas will soon be counted towards Lenovo's share.
Wearables market is still new but Samsung is still dominating it.. According to a chart made by Jeeq Data LLC that tracks which products are the top sellers in several categories at specific retailers, a bit more than one out of every three smartwatches/fitness bands that was sold by Best Buy in April was branded with the Samsung name.
More specifically, 33.94% of these devices were manufactured by the Korean firm. Best Buy offers a wide assortment of Samsung timepieces including the stand-alone Samsung Gear S, which it sells with an AT&T voice and data plan. It also sells the Samsung Gear Fit, which is a combination of smartwatch and fitness band. The Samsung Gear 2 and the Samsung Gear 2 Neo are both available, as well.
After Samsung, the soon to be public Fibit garnered 20% of Best Buy's wearable sales for the monh. And not that far behind Fitbit was Motorola. The Moto 360 accounted for 17.88% of these sales in April. And we should mention that the Microsoft Band finished fourth with a 12.73% slice of the pie. Rounding out the top five was Pebble. The Kickstarter superstar accounted for 9.39% of the smartwatch and fitness band sales at Best Buy in April.
On a daily basis, Fitbit was a steady performer for the month, while Samsung sold well during the beginning and the end of April.
Smartphones are not divided into male or female, but there are models that are very popular with the beautiful half of humanity. After all, we all want easy access to the internet, watch the latest media streams or enjoy some of the latest new slots online. What are these devices? Well, here is our top 10 of them.
- Huawei P10 Lite 3 / 32GB
Want a stylish smartphone with good features but do not want to overpay? Check out the new Huawei P10 Lite. The smartphone strikes first of all with its very beautiful glass and steel case. On the back of the case, there is a decent 12-megapixel camera, as well as a fingerprint scanner.
- iPhone X 256GB
Of course, it is impossible not to talk about the new iPhone, especially since this is a completely new model. The main feature is a frameless case, that is, in front of us is a full-screen smartphone. For example, the width of the case is only 70.9 mm, which is noticeably less than that of the iPhone 8 Plus with a 5.5-inch display. The second important feature is Face ID - the unlock function by identifying the owner's face.
- Samsung Galaxy S8
Galaxy S8 is very popular with both men and women. It should be noted that the latest generation of the flagship from Samsung has received not only a great case design but also a large screen with a diagonal of as much as 5.8 inches. Still, the width of the case is small: only 68.1 mm. Not only the design of the case was changed but also the location of the buttons. For example, the buttons are now touch-sensitive and onscreen, the mechanical Home key is no longer there, and the fingerprint scanner is located on the back. There is also one of the best modern smartphone cameras.
This is a phone for a confident and strong woman. If you want to find one in your life, then be sure to visit the following website where you will be able to marry a woman.
- Meizu Pro 7 64GB
The new flagship from the company Meizu can be safely recommended to the all women out there, especially the ones who like to take selfies. Why? The secret lies in the presence of an additional screen on the back of the device. It is small and only 1.9 inches, but this screen is very useful - you can display a picture from a double rear camera and take a selfie on it!
- Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact
This smartphone is called the most compact among the flagships on Android. And this seems to be true since, in the market, you can hardly find another equally powerful 4.6-inch smartphone. The Xperia XZ1 Compact has a very stylish, high-quality plastic case, an excellent display, the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory.
- Xiaomi Mi A1 64GB
Xiaomi Mi A1 is perfect for both the male half and the female. It received a stylish metal case, the color of which can be chosen (for example, gold or pink gold), a large 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, a dual rear camera, a powerful platform based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4 GB RAM. But the main feature of this smartphone is the presence of "bare" Android instead of MIUI firmware from Xiaomi, which will certainly attract a separate group of users. At the same time, Mi A1 is relatively inexpensive.
- iPhone SE 32GB
iPhone SE is still a great success, and this is understandable - a 4-inch smartphone built on the basis of the powerful iPhone 6S. If you do not like large smartphones, be sure to check out SE. As mentioned above, it is basically the iPhone 6S, so when it comes to raw performance, SE is beyond praise.
- Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) SM-A320F
This is not the most powerful device, but it's very stylish. The case is made of glass and metal; in this generation, Samsung offered several interesting color options. By the way, the display is quite small, being only 4.7 inches.
- Meizu M5c 16GB
Speaking of budget smartphones, it is impossible not to mention the Meizu M5c. Why? At least because this device looks very cool - the case is made of plastic but of very good quality; the quality of assembly is also excellent. Since we are talking about an inexpensive smartphone, do not expect miracles: there is no fingerprint scanner, dual camera or fast charging function, but there is a high-quality 5-inch screen, an interesting interface based on Flyme OS.
- iPhone 8 64GB
If before, the case was completely metal, now, the back cover is made of glass, and the case colors have changed slightly. What is more? The new processor, updated cameras, the new wireless charging function, and the True Tone color technology.

According to the latest month web traffic report by NetMarketShare, Android has unseated iOS sometime this July. Google's Android platform accounted for 44.62% of total Mobile Web traffic, whereas iOS trailed a little behind with 44.19%. Apparently, this is the first time Android has taken the lead in this department.
While some may argue that the lead is negligible, it appears that Android's dominant position on the market is finally beginning to pay off for Google. The latest official data from one of the most trustworthy sources, Strategy Analytics, revealed that Android accounted for 84.6% of the smartphone market in Q2 of the current year. Broken down to OS versions, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean contributed for 10.03% of all mobile traffic, Android 4.4 KitKat for 9.28%, and Android 4.2 for 8.77%. Meanwhile, more than half of iOS's result is formed by users, who accessed the world wide web from their iPad tablets.
Two of the other relatively major operating systems, Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS, grasped 2.49% and 1.21% of said market, respectively. Java ME and Symbian, however, stood between them and the leaders, Android and iOS.
Android-powered mobile devices are more popular than ever with an estimated 1.5 billion active devices currently operating across the globe. Each device can hold hundreds of apps but in a market that is so over-crowded, which apps are the most essential? Here are the top 5 must-have apps available on the Android platform.
WhatsApp Messenger
We currently live in a world where instant communication has never been more important. People want access to their loved ones and friends at all times and sometimes it can be tricky to get hold of those people when relying simply on phone calls and text messages if the signal is poor.
This is where WhatsApp Messenger comes in. Released back in January, 2010, WhatsApp allows users to not only send a text-based message, images, and even sound recordings to others through the app provided there is a 3G or 4G connection or wireless connection present but it also will not cost a penny for users to do so. Users can also set up group chats so they can message multiple people simultaneously and it just allows an extra potential method of convenient communication. It has a user base in excess of 1 billion active users making it the largest messaging app available. Its takeover by Facebook has also allowed it to maximise its potential over recent months.
Snapchat
It's hard to think that Snapchat first hit the app stores back in September, 2011 and it has just grown in popularity ever since. It is so popular in fact that some major companies have altered their logos on social media in order to link in with the Snapchat app. You might recognise that ghost-style image. It was originally created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown when they were student studying at Stanford University.
The app can be used for photo sharing, instant messaging, multimedia, and video chat. It is available in over 20 languages which shows how it has transcended cultures across the world. The app has proved to be such a hit with mobile device users that it had reached 10 billion daily video views in 2016. Even though the app initially hit the main stream for its image sharing capabilities, a recent survey suggested that 71% of users now actually used it for its instant chat functions.
One thing that really riles professional photographers is when those that are not active in the industry claim they could do it. Unfortunately, for photographers, that claim has now been given more of a voice due to the rise of the image and video-sharing app Instagram that allows users to manipulate and edit their photographs to give it a more professional edge.
Instagram was initially released back in October, 2010 by its creators Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and six years later it continues to be one of the most used apps on Android devices. It is listed up there with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr as being one of the main social network apps on the market. Latest figures suggest that the app has over 500 million active users every month which is a 100 million increase on 2015. It is used by celebrities and sports stars to communicate with fans and has even become a source of income for those in the fashion and food industries who blog their experiences for audiences.
Slots Huuuge Casino
Mobile casino gaming is an industry that is growing with every passing day. Online casino operators realise that analysts predict mobile casino revenue will hit the $99.6 billion mark this year and it is a market that is becoming potentially very lucrative as online products transfer onto the mobile platform.
There are an endless number of mobile casino offerings on the market but one of the most underrated ones is the Huuuge Inc-developed Slots Huuuge Casino. Players can get involved in a wide selection of classic casino games on their mobile devices such as slots, poker, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat plus many more. The likes of Big Fish Casino and DoubleDown Casino are still the bigger names but this app is one of a new up and coming generation that will evolve the market and take things to the next level.
Advanced Task Killer
It is a common complaint for users of mobile devices. An app that is sucking the life out of your mobile device battery has been left open in the background and within a matter of hours your device has run out of juice and you're left with a powerless mobile device without a charger within touching distance.
Advanced Task Killer is a tool that can help to solve that issue. It lists all the apps that are running both in the foreground and background of your mobile device. It will then give you the option to kill those devices to stop them from draining your battery. Developed by ReChild, it has been on the market for a number of years now but remains one of the most underrated apps available for download.
Google updated its Hangouts App to v2.4 with some minor improvements. In the New Hangouts 2.4 you will natice that if you slide over the dialer screen there is now a call credit display in the upper right corner.
You can tap the button up there to open a browser and add more money to your account as well. That displaces the clear log button to the top of the call log. Otherwise we're not seeing anything on the surface. Get the official APK from the link below right now, or wait for the update to hit your phone.
If you want to make 2017 the year you start engaging with the financial markets to try and get more from your capital, then your Android phone or tablet can become one of the most helpful tools in your trading arsenal. By taking advantage of good trading related apps, you can set your phone up as a hub for all your trading activity, allowing you to access your portfolio, ETF activity, share index information and everything else you need on the go.
Here are three great apps to help you become an effective mobile trader:
IG Trading
The first thing you need is a trading environment where you can hold your account and actually do your trading. IG's offering is a feature rich app that gives you speedy access to pricing, account information, and most importantly, trading. The app can also help you see various forms of data analysis that can help you plan your moves. The app is free if you have an account with IG, and you can either set this up through the app itself or on their website.
Bloomberg+
An effective trader needs a good source of financial news that is laser targeted to the parts of the market that are most important to them. As you start trading you'll begin to see just how much you value having fast access to business and economic news, as well as expert opinions and analysis. The Bloomberg+ app gives you fast access to the latest global finance news, and means you can avoid having to work through your phone's browser when you need the latest information and breaking price news fast.
Stocktwits
Social media can be a great source of insights, but rather than create a whole new Twitter profile just to collect the stock information you want, or have it fill up your usual news feed, you can install Stocktwits - which is effectively 'Twitter for traders'. You can see insights, ideas, tips and strategies from other traders in real time tweet style format, and also share your own thoughts and ask questions.
Arming yourself with the right sources of insights and news, along with the tools to actually get your trading done, means you can work effectively and efficiently from your phone, whether you are actively making trades or researching a potential trade from both mainstream news sources and social media. With these three apps, you are ready to trade intelligently wherever you are!
Twitter has millions of users around the world, with that number growing as it continues to be the best place to keep up with current events. If you are an avid Twitter fan and you own an Android handset, here are five third party apps to download and use today. But be quick, as it is setting out to change its API soon!
Plume
This is a great-looking app that has plenty of personality and offers the potential for users to customise the way they view Twitter. Individual accounts can be given their own unique colour so that it is easy to identify your friends and favourite tweeters on the timeline.
Plume lets you remain logged in with more than one account, which is good for people who have a personal and business presence on Twitter that they are struggling to stay on top of at the moment. Since it runs smoothly on the majority of Android phones, it is also a solid choice for most users, regardless of their device of choice.
This app isn't just for Twitter, but for every other mainstream social media platform around, including the likes of Facebook, Instagram and even LinkedIn. If you want to amalgamate your feeds and control all of your accounts at once, it's ideal.
Hootsuite is free to download and use, with extra business-focused features unlocked via a monthly subscription. This lets you schedule entire social media campaigns and boost the profile of your business or brand, although most users will not need this kind of in-depth functionality.
TweetCaster
With regular updates and lots of features, this is one of the old guard of the Twitter app market. It is great for viewing content, whether you are a Casumo Twitter acolyte or a fan of other big accounts.
Be prepared to put up with quite a few adverts in the free version, or splash out a bit and get the premium edition which is blissfully ad-free. Some might feel that TweetCaster is a little bloated with all its features, but there are lighter-weight alternatives to consider.
That's right, we're recommending the official Twitter app for Android users, not just because it is sanctioned by the company itself, but also because it's a fairly slick bit of software in its own right.
There's no hefty fee to pay to download and use it, no unnecessary add-ons to get in the way of the pure microblogging experience, and no chance that it will ever be killed off by some over-zealous API tinkering, as mentioned earlier. The only downside is that it lacks quite a few of the perks that are common across the other apps in this list, such as tweet scheduling, so you'll have to look elsewhere for a more versatile offering.
If you have multiple Twitter accounts that need to be managed, and you value the opportunity to customise the way you use this service, Fenix 2 is the app for you. It is well integrated with external platforms as well, so when people tweet links to content on other sites, or embed videos and photos within posts, you can easily view them without having to jump out and fire up another app.
An extra advantage of Fenix 2 is that it makes it straightforward to mute users who get on your nerves, whether or not you follow them. Keeping tabs on who you have muted and blocked is important in these trying times. This app lets you purify your feed and enjoy Twitter again, rather than finding that it's cluttered with unhelpful opinions.
No matter if you're a new Android user or a lifetime enthusiast, you certainly noticed that the Google Play catalog spreads on over 3.5 million apps that are eligible with most Android devices out there. So, for everyone that doesn't want to waste time installing and testing apps that aren't useful or do not perform as expected, such a list of hot Android applications is more than handy. The selection process for each app is strict and nothing in this recommended list didn't get here without proper testing so you can definitely trust that any app you will find down below is 100% functional and trustworthy even though you never heard of it until now.
Before jumping into the list of top 6 apps, there's an announcement to be made and some of you might now like it. This list doesn't contain any Android game for two reasons: first of all, a top 6 wouldn't be nearly enough for the number of awesome games Android has to offer; secondly, the focus remains on helpful and entertaining apps that do not directly link to gaming. So, without further ado, here's the list of the 6 Android apps you need to have on your smartphone this year.
Comixology Comics
The art of comic books seems to be dying, especially if you're referring to the physical comic book stores. And this is a pity since reading comic books is a very relaxing activity that can have a high educational implication as well. Luckily, for all comic book fans out there, Comixology offers an endless library of all the best comic books, totally free.
Evernote
For those of you that never used Evernote, it is everything you need to have in terms of a personal assistant. It can keep lists, take notes, record voice messages, to-do management and, basically, an all-around multi-tool. One feature that really stands out and makes Evernote very interesting is the optical character recognition function that basically makes text in photos searchable. Install the app right now and give it a shot, it's pretty impressive.
Facebook Messenger
For some of you, the inclusion of this app on the list might seem as a redundant thing to do since everyone is already using it. Well, that's exactly the reason why it gets a spot here! If offers a stable and high-quality communication pathway between you and your friends among a lot of different other services.
Google Drive
Defined by most as a cloud storage service, Google Drive is much more than that. It also comes with a mobile office suite, making you capable of accessing important excel and word files or even presentations from your mobile device. Everything is opened instantly and it will transform your smartphone in a working station in no time.
LastPass
LastPass is the perfect password manager. There's no doubt that you have forgot at least one password in the past month so that's why a service like this one is included in this top. It can also generate passwords for you in case you're not feeling inspired enough and will store each and every password for super-fast access when needed.
Netflix
The king of mobile vides streaming, Netflix offers an impressive portfolio of movies, TV shows and documentaries among other amazing features such as 4K streaming and offline viewing. Entering a tough segment where it had to face Youtube, Netflix showed everyone what they're capable of.
As mentioned earlier, creating a list with must-have apps for Android is quite a tricky thing to do due to different needs and preferences of each user and personality. Some of you might refuse using Facebook Messenger while others would go crazy for an app to access 24pokies mobile casino. One thing is certain, though, no matter they way you want to integrate your smartphone in your professional or social life, there will surely be an app there ready to make things easier or more interesting.

We just can't get enough of our mobile apps. In 2017 we downloaded 178 billion apps to our phones, an eye-opening figure that's only expected to grow, reaching more than 250 billion by 2022.
With so much choice, it's easy to see how mistakes are made, and we end up paying for an app we might never use. Thankfully, some of the best apps now come with free demos, so we can try before we buy. Everyone likes to try something for free, right?
Here's our guide to the top five apps you can download to your phone right now and start using for free. Sure, you might need to pay after a free trial, or it might cost you a little bit to enjoy an advert-free or premium feature version, but if you like the demo, at least you can make an informed choice.
1. Netflix
It's thought the on-demand streaming service Netflix now has more than 150 million subscribers. That's a lot of people viewing their favourite TV shows, including made-for-Netflix epics like Narcos, and films from the comfort of their own home, or on their mobile phone. It's probably the best way to make your commute to and from work go quickly; watching something cool on the bus or the train.
Netflix is, of course, a paid-for platform. A monthly fee of as little as £5.99 will get you enjoying everything the site has to offer, and believe us there is a seemingly endless amount of content to view.
But the cool thing is, and the reason why Netflix makes our top five demo apps to download is that you get a free month trial. That's right; you can try Netflix out on your mobile before committing to joining those 150 million subscribers. We're fairly sure you'll want to sign up after the month is over, but enjoy the demo version while you can anyway.
2. Spotify
You must have heard of Spotify, the digital music streaming service that gives you instant access to millions of songs from just about every artist in the world (even Taylor Swift has now signed up). The service is the best musical thing to come out of Sweden since ABBA, and there's every reason to try it for free.
Download the app to your phone, and you'll see Spotify is a freemium service. That means you can demo the app for as long as you like without paying a cent. While that's all well and good, you will have to put up with one or two adverts.
However, once you've tried it out, you'll likely be more than happy to sign up for the money version. There's no ads, a better audio quality, and you're not forced to listen in shuffle mode - in other words, you can listen to any song you want when you want to.
3. Trading Platforms
One benefit of the digital revolution has been the ability for people to take better control of their finances, whether that be through mobile apps for your bank, allowing you to keep track of all your spending, balances and direct debits, to the ability to make payments digitally via app services like PayPal.
It's also caused an explosion in the number of people taking part in financial trading. Once the domain of suited brokers in Wall Street or the City of London Stock Exchange, now any of us can trade in stocks, shares, commodities and foreign currencies using the new breed of trading platforms.
All decent platforms have good app versions from which you can trade. Choose one with a good demo trading app version, for two reasons: firstly you get to see if you like the features the broker offers, and secondly, you get used to trading with "play money" simply by using a demo account on your mobile before having to commit to your own hard-earned cash.
4. Investing spare change and managing pensions
While trading apps are ideal for those who like to speculate to accumulate, many people prefer to put their money into safe havens like saving plans and pensions. And there are plenty of apps you can demo to find the most suitable for you.
Acorns, for example, is a neat app that allows you to add your spare change every day. The idea is that your funds are automatically invested and that one day little acorns grow into giant oak trees! Similarly, you can simplify your pension plans by putting various pensions (many people now have more than one) and combining them into one with an app like PensionBee.
With PensionBee you can get a real-time quote of your pension fund amount, and make a cash withdrawal should the need arise.
5. Fitness tracking apps
There are bags of apps to help you keep track of your training programs. Just about all of these are free - but you will be expected to pay for extra goodies.
With Strava, runners and cyclists track their activity and get feedback such as route, distance, speed, heart rate analysis (when used with a chest strap), climbing and more. It's also sparked a cult following of people exercising on routes to make a pretty picture on the map, called Strava art.
Meanwhile, MyFitnessPal helps you lose weight. It monitors your calory intake and sets it against your daily goal. You can also integrate your workouts, so the app knows if you have done enough exercise to increase your calorie intake for the day!
Wellbeing is not just about diet and exercise - getting a good night's sleep is fundamental. Try Sleep Cycle, which monitors your sleep patterns and teaches you how to sleep better. It's free with the option of in-app purchases. Other apps to try include StepJockey and Pacer Pedometer and Weight Loss Coach.
Enjoy our demo apps - if you end up downloading too many you might find your phone slows down as more memory is used. We show you here how to free up space on your Android.
iOS may have a larger selection of exclusive apps but some of the most popular apps on the market today are only compatible with Android. From health and medical apps to the Intertops casino bonus app, Android users will not feel any lack of access to useful applications

Trading apps have recently become a crucial tool in most professional traders' arsenal. Obviously, due to certain restrictions that mobile software present, a stock trading app is not enough to support a professional trader's every single trade. Nevertheless, they are a great way of improving once availability and, when used right, they can help boost profitability.
Even serious day traders are using stock trading apps to make sure they never miss an opportunity or are forced to close a position too late, only because they were out or not sitting in front of their trading rig.
The only issue with the rise of the trading app is that there are so many different options available and it quickly becomes an overwhelming task to figure out which one to use.
So, in an attempt to minimize this issue, we have tested and reviewed a range of popular trading apps and have listed the best of the best below.
Initial Advice
Before we get started with the recommendations, we want to offer a quick tip. Considering that you're found this article, chances are that you're already trading and that you're using a broker that you feel comfortable with.
In that case, we suggest you look into what app you're broker is offering to see if it would be a good fit for you. If that's the case, you should stick with that said app. Otherwise, you can pick one of the following.
MetaTrader
The mobile versions of Metaquote's incredibly popular trading platforms MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, are some of the most used trading apps in the world. In fact, as seen in BullMarketz trading app guide, a majority of all online brokers, rely on the MetaTrader trading apps.
The reason for this is that Metaquote is one of the most established trading software developers on the market and their apps have been around for longer than most other similar apps.
Moreover, the apps are really easy to use, available on both iOS and Android and they come with every tool you would need to trade on your smartphone, including graphs, market updates, comparison tools, and extremely easy execution.
Plus500
Plus500 is globally known as one of the best online stockbrokers ever. With a selection of stocks ranging from the main ones listed on American exchanges, to companies listed on smaller more local exchanges, this broker has it all.
This broker also happens to have developed one of the most award-winning trading apps ever, and there is no question as to why that is.
You see, trading with the Plus500 app is as close to trading on a regular desktop platform as you can come. The interface is designed to be as clear and easy to use as possible with all the tools you could wish for.
Better yet, you can test the app for free and without risk by opening an unlimited Plus500 demo account before you download the app from one of the app stores.
TD Ameritrade
TD Ameritrade is not only one of the most well-established "traditional stockbrokers" in the world - available from the US to the UK and Europe, all the way to Asia - but they also have the best stock investment app.
In fact, whenever the best stock investment and trading apps in the world are listed, TD Ameritrade places at the very top.
With the TD Ameritrade stock trading app, you gain access to all of TD Ameritrade's tools and features, directly on your smartphone. Moreover, being the fact that TD Ameritrade already has a huge user base, their app is the obvious choice for many.
Acorn
As a last bonus tip, we want to recommend Acord - an automatic stock investment app that can help you create a decent passive income, without lifting a finger.
By connecting the app to your debit or credit card, you will automatically invest the spare change from every purchase done with that card, in a portfolio of low-risk, low-reward stocks and EFTs.
Now, Acorn should not be the main app used by professional traders since you can't use it to find your own investment opportunities. However, we believe that every professional trader should have this stock trading app to maximize their opportunities.

Gartner has unveiled its latest research about the state of the phone market in the second quarter of 2015, and there are two big conclusions: First, that Android is Dominating in the Top smartphones market worldwide. Secondly, that Google's Android and Apple's iOS together now control a whopping 96.8% of the smartphone market, and the other 3.2% is getting even smaller year-by-year.
Apple's iOS is actually gaining new ground, growing to get a 14.4% of the market with 48.1 million devices sold in the quarter, up from a market share of 12.2% in the second quarter of 2014.
Google's Android, on the other hand, remains the dominant leader, but while it has grown the absolute number in units shipped to 271 million (up from 243.48 million in Q2 2014), its share has actually dwindled to 82.2%, down from 83.8%.

The Fitbit Surge is one of the newest Fitbit models. Aside for the usual fitness tracking, the Fitbit Surge has caller ID, continuous heart monitoring, music control, GPS tracking, wireless syncing and text notifications. The battery life is expected to last up to seven days. It has a sleek design that is slightly less geeky than other smartwatch designs we have seen. A few downsides are that the manufacturer does not recommend wearing the watch under water or while swimming. So for avid swimmers, this is not the right option for you if you are looking to track your fitness. Another common complaint we saw is that the watch is slightly bulky and can feel awkward on your wrist. The Fitbit Surge is available to purchase for $158 online.

Eating well goes hand in hand with staying fit. HAPIfork is an electronic fork that will help monitor and track your eating habits. The initial set up will require setting up the fork on your computer and it will then begin syncing all of your data. HAPIfork will measure how much time it takes you to eat between bites and you can customize how much time you want it to give you between bites. All of your data can be synced onto your smartphone to help you track your eating habits. It is available for $99.
It takes a lot to stick to a New Year's resolution. Make your fitness resolution a bit easier this year by starting off the year with the right fitness equipment that will make staying fit easier.
Has it not been long you became a lover of photography? Do you spend more and more time with the camera? I realize that the beginnings are always difficult. But whoever tries nothing has nothing! The important thing is to try and want to do it!
This is the reason I have put together these ten errors most often committed by the beginning photographers. You should also read this article to avoid doing it too!
#1: A professional camera is not everything
Do not believe that a professional camera will make you an experienced photographer! There is nothing more wrong than thinking that a super expensive camera will allow you to become a pro and make great photos of good quality. Because a good photographer can make a beautiful photo with any smartphone. We advise you first check all available options in your device or in the device you want to buy, and to think how you can use them. A quick note: even the best screen in the camera will not make the beauty and sense of reality of your photo! So, look at the photos still on the screen of a pc. It must also be well calibrated!
#2: Photography is a freedom of expression. Do not copy others!
It's always good to watch and be inspired by other
people's photos. But it is not at all allowed or professional to copy the ideas of
others. It is very important to know how to analyze the photos, their
colors and their framing, to know how to draw the conclusions and to use it by
making his own photos!
You can also participate in photography training organized by famous
photographers, read books and magazines on photography and ask the
professionals for advice but above all, especially what it takes is to listen
to oneself and not to be afraid to experiment and test, to seek one's way.
#3: Do not use flash
The flash is often well liked and used by amateur photographers as well. But it is rarely or never used by professionals. The flash iterates in cameras making the photos too bright and too flat. So, if you are really interested in photography, leave out the flash and get different light effects instead use a diaphragm or other accessories that help capture the right light. If you do not want to give up the diaphragm reduce its power so that the light captured may seem more natural.
#4: Avoid excessive blurring of backgrounds
Many people like to use the "bokeh effect." It's a nice effect but does not overdo it! It is good to use it from time to time, but it is especially advisable to focus on the entire framing and on the background, which is also very important in a photo. Never underestimate the backgrounds of the photos because their choice is essential.
#5: Do not take photos without thinking - focus
When you take pictures, you must always have a clear idea of what you want to capture and how. Remember the principle of the third-party rule on the division of the image or division of gold. It's just the right time to use the principle.
#6: Do not take photos against the sun or in direct sunlight
Good weather and the shining sun can make us believe that it
is the perfect time to take pictures. Nothing more deceptive, except you
are looking to create some lens
flare in your photos! Of course, you have to experiment and try it all
but we must not forget that with that time, there are more shady areas so the
nose and even the hair will project shade. It is advisable to use a
shaded place which gives a much more pleasant and delicate light.
And if you're talking about shadows - never take pictures so that your shadow
appears in the frame with the camera in your hand. It's a mistake as
simple as putting your finger in front of the lens.
#7: Never use AUTO mode!
It is true that the AUTO mode was created especially for beginners of photography. But if you want to progress and develop your abilities as a photographer do not use it! Check all the options available in your device and try to use them. Try also to take pictures in RAW format. The photos in this format are subsequently much easier to process and edit. It is easier to make the necessary changes.
#8: Photo processing program? That's not all!
And if we talk about photo editing, they are used to highlight and expose the beauty of your photos and not to create photos! Photo processing programs have been created to make photographers' lives easier. But it is better to take beautiful pictures from the start so with a good framing and a good light to do editing just if it's really necessary. Use multiple gradations of lights, contrast and image saturation to become an expert. If you can lay your hands on one of the best mirrorless camera we have in the market today, then you are good to go with shooting great photos.
#9: Do not give up the colors to give
more impotence to black and white photos
Black and white photos are easier to take. But if you want to progress in your photography adventure, it is to be used with moderation. Take the photos in color! And do not be afraid! Especially if the colors are essential for example the photos of Autumn, autumn leaves etc. or the rainbow.
#10: Do not be angry if you are given constructive advice
Nobody is born expert! Neither does anyone become an expert right away as soon as they start in their field. The beginnings can be difficult and we learn all our lives. Accept any criticism that comes from an expert or a professional photographer. They can teach you a lot. Thanks to this kind of criticism you can progress. But do not compare yourself to others, especially not professionals, and especially not when you start. This can only cause useless frustrations, and you do not want to be discouraged from the beginning.
Do not wait any longer! Take your camera and take as many photos as you want! It is not necessary to go to distant and exotic countries to be able to take beautiful pictures or to find beautiful landscapes. You can find inspirations around you in everyday life and in the simplest objects. Just keep your eyes wide open and have your device handy.
Spanning from advanced technological adoption to rapid urbanization and industrialization, Africa has, in the last couple of decades, experienced a remarkable growth that today makes it stand out. Naturally, a land flowing with the metaphoric milk and honey, Africa's steady development is one for the books.
While many may argue that there is still a gap between tech and infrastructural development in Africa and other continents, its resilience over the years and open arms to new and innovative technologies has shown that this continent might just sit at the top of technological advancements in the future.
This is perhaps one of the reasons why the continent has witnessed an influx of startups willing to take it to the top. As a result, it has been noted to build strong startup culture in the last couple of years.
In effect, venture funding shaped up 2018 to be a wonderful year and 2019 is appearing to be taking up a great form with many startups taking their place in advancing technology in the continent.
While some of these startups have made the news at some point, there are some of them that rarely gets a mention albeit making waves at their position. Not only does it expand the tech culture in Africa by creating a basis for the extension of companies to Africa, Andela creates an opportunity for developers to get known and showcase their skills.

Though focused on the South African market, its plans of expansion are in place and is aimed to expand its services to sellers all across the continent in record time.

This startup is admittedly shaking up the FinTech atmosphere and with its plans of expansion in the books, it could just be one of the best in 2019.
While virtual reality was viewed as a niche product in the past, businesses across industries are starting to harness the power of VR to achieve their goals. In fact, the only limit to the use of VR is your own imagination. Let's take a look at some interesting ways of how virtual reality development transforms businesses.
1. Training
This is a crucial use case for VR because it immerses the employee in a lifelike environment or situation without actually having to deal with all of the problems the pose in the real world. For example, Walmart has used virtual reality technology in order to simulate the working conditions of Black Friday. This way, the employees will be ready for long lines, agitated customers, and the stress that comes with it.
2. Retail
Virtual reality offers a lot of benefits for both customers and businesses. A great example of this is what Ikea is doing to help customers pick out their furniture. If the customer is on the fence about buying something, they can use the app to see what a specific piece of furniture will look like in their home. This allows customers to overcome their hesitations and helps eliminate buyer's remorse.
3. Construction
It's one thing to present clients and inventors with a drawing of a proposed building and another to allow them actually to see the and walk through the proposed design. Thanks to new developments, it is now easier than ever to turn paper plans into 3D computer models.
4. Data Visualization
Thanks to VR, you will soon be able to say goodbye to boring meetings and presentations where you have to read data off PowerPoint presentations or other charts. VR will allow data to be displayed in 3D, which means that you will be able to interact with it dynamically.
5. Manufacture
VR can be very useful in the manufacturing sector since it can be applied in the design and prototyping process. In fact, companies such as Boeing and Airbus are already employing this technology, so they do not have to build expensive prototypes and are even the interior design of the cabin.
6. Real Estate
When someone is considering buying a new home, it is not enough to simply tell them about a property. You would be much more helpful to show them what the house looks like in VR which simulate the real-life property to the most minute detail. This also eliminates the need for home buyers to physically travel to a location to view a house or an apartment.
Exploring the uses of virtual reality as a tool will change the way you do business and can give you an essential edge in today's tech-focused climate. Focus now on understanding the range of possibilities and investing in the technology needed to make the most of virtual reality. Whether you're training your team or offering a cutting-edge digital experience to customers, VR can change the way you interact and do business going forward.

Data is the single most important piece of safeguarded information that you give out every day. If you're a frequent user of the internet, you've more than likely given away more personal information and data than you would like to imagine.
Keeping your data safeguarded is probably one of the most important things you could be doing. There are ample ways to keep your data protected, and with malicious threats arising every day, keeping up with the times is essential.
If you leave the smallest possible digital footprint, it never goes off the internet. If you've ever heard the expression:
" The internet is forever. "
You've been educated on the dangers of the internet and the importance of your digital footprint. The internet is ever-evolving, and so are the safety measures you need to take. Some are new, some are old, but all are essential.
Note: Keeping your web presence safe and your data protected is as simple as using common sense and the tools provided above. Keep all of these tips in mind when you're browsing every day.
Visit Only Websites You Trust
This might sound like an everyday scene, but it's essential. It would be best if you visited only the websites you trust, and sites that are proven to be free of malware.
When you visit any unreliable websites, you're likely going to get exposed to some content you don't want to see, or to malicious individuals. Chatting with these individuals and interacting with them in any way can raise a lot of red flags.
The internet is not as safe as many people think. Untrusted and shady websites are chock full of scammers, blackmailers, and hackers who are just waiting to collect your data.
In order to make sure you're protected when browsing, only browse with reliable search engines. Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo index mostly safe websites, but other, shadier search engines are usually careless.
Avoid Advertisements From Unreliable Sources
We've all been there. You're exploring a bright new website that you've found off the corner of the internet, and you're given targeted advertisements. Advertisements can be a tricky thing and can seem too good to be true.
More often than not, this is the exact situation. These advertisements are mostly scams and are meant to steal your personal data. You should not trust any unsolicited advertisements, and avoid them at all costs.
If you're targeted by an advertisement that you think you can have some use for, opt to research it by yourself. If it's a product that you would like to have, try to find it on reliable platforms such as Amazon and AliExpress.
Use a Proper VPN Service
VPN services have been around for some time, and have gained quite a lot of popularity in the past couple of years. There seems to be an unmatched amount of them available today, and ironically some of them are scams.
A VPN service will protect your browsing habits by masking your IP address and encrypting all of your personal data. It can also unblock some websites, so that's a definitive plus. Some of the benefits of using a reliable VPN service are:
-
Improved Security
